Good Morning D

Congrats to ATC on the anniversary, and to Bev on the two new grandbabies. Just got back from the Committee of 101 golf scramble and cookout. Joe B was there. He can't walk but he rode around in a golf cart, talking to different groups. Still pretty sharp. Kenny Walker, Goose Givens, and Larry Stamper all played too. Pretty good day. No rain at the University Club, good food, and won $100 in gift cards. Bert, I know it was pouring when we were down your way. What is the total rainfall up to, and has it slacked down?
Rainfall is a local event in most cases. Friday we got over 4" but the Bowling Green airport just 13 miles from my house got 5.7".

We are approaching 9" in the last 4 days at my house. We got .54 inches this morning around 7 to 9 pm. The airport is not reporting any rail fall today. The airport has only gotten a total of 7.3".

Back when I was a student at UK in the early 60's there were honky tonks all up and down Richmond Road. Two lanes back then and no business areas. Jerry Lee gave a concert in one of them one night and the place ended up in a free for all and the piano was busted up,, chairs, etc. Cops shut it down. Trouble followed him every where he went. His music just fanned the flames. Boy, man oh man could he play a piano. Learned it with his other cousins in a Pentecostal Church Same with Elvis, J D Sumner, Carl Perkins and many more.. Cousins Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Lee Swaggart could play it too. What a bunch that must have been growing up.

After church we went by the Gulf to check on any activity out there. Some storm clouds are coming from the West, looking towards Texas and they should be real strong by about 6:00. Praying they will

Heard this oldie but goodie again today.

A frugal man and his constantly nagging wife take a trip to the Holy Land. While touring Jerusalem, the wife dies.

A local undertaker tells the man they can bury her in Jerusalem for $150, or he can pay $5,000 to ship her home.

The man says, "better ship her home." The undertaker is surprised and asks why.

The man says, "A long time ago a man died here and rose from the dead after three days. I'm not taking that chance."

It be like that sometime.

Powerful thunderstorms inbound. We're receiving 75 MPH winds as I type this. Stuff flying everywhere. Might cool us off.
We just got a little break after storms all day out of the West. But I can see another band headed our way and we should get these all night long. No wind just thunder and lightning and heavy rains. We need all we can get of this stuff right now. I am sitting on the edge of the lake taking a few pictures as we wait.
