D-League

Sure would be nice if we could duplicate the success of last years football team. Another year like that would make a good foundation going forward. I suppose it could be said that we already have the foundation, but no one pays attention to the baby steps it took to get to where we went last year.

It needs to be a sexy move for any home state kid who is good enough to be recruited nationally, to stay at home and be a part of something big. Dominance over Louisville will go a long way to create that vibe.

I wish Hoak would have stayed. I can understand why he wouldn't, but we have no legitimate back up now and even if we bring in a juco with experience and talent, he won't know the system. Be careful Mr. Wilson!

Sweeney signed a 10 year 93 million dollar contract with Clemson. Wow! I haven't been to Clemson for about 15 years. When I was there that town was ate up with football and I can't imagine what it's like now. Beautiful campus and all the roads leading into the stadium had huge orange paw prints painted on the roads.

Weird things there: Got there on a Sunday and couldn't buy a skillet for my motel room. Found out you couldn't buy any tools on Sunday. I told them that I wasn't going to hammer a nail with it, I was going to cook a steak. Didn't matter.

Another thing was in the bars they couldn't pour a mixed drink out of a bottle. All they had were the little airplane bottles to make drinks with. Had to order a double to get a decent drink. Shots were pretty easy though.

People over 80 were given a 1% tax break on all purchases but the signs said they weren't allowed to take the break if they were buying something for someone else. That will really stretch out a retirement income.

Good morning from Vegas. Currently hot and getting hotter.

Had a truly wonderful evening last night. I have never dined on such delicious salmon in my life. Amazing dinner. Stuffed myself silly. Bride and groom looked fantastic. Unlimited booze. Tremendous atmosphere. Super folks.

Heading to a buffet in about 2 hours across the street at MGM. Later today me and ukgrad93 will probably get into something.

We'll check back later. Y'all behave

Going out this morning for a spot of fishing. Going to try 9 mile pond, one that I have not been to in a while (few years). Always caught bass there but, they were too small for me to keep. Ran in to a man at a store yesterday that said a friend of his caught a nine pound bass out of there a couple of weeks ago. Got me salivating for a lunker.
The record for LM in Georgia is 22 lbs and something.

After a weekend filled with Wildcats leaving the Bluegrass to fulfill their NFL dreams, could the Kentucky football team close out the weekend by bringing in some fresh talent? It’s looking like a strong possibility.

Four-star offensive tackle John Young hinted toward a Sunday night announcement, saying“Y’all stay tuned tonight.. big news coming” on his Twitter account. He spent the weekend on campus in Lexington and was originally scheduled to make his college decision Monday. An early announcement bodes well for the Wildcats.

The Louisville Christian Academy senior announced his final six schools back in March: Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan and Georgia. He’s one of the best recruits left in the Commonwealth for the class of 2020, and – good news – he grew up as a Kentucky Wildcat fan. Mark Stoops and his staff first offered Young during his freshman year, which means he’s had plenty of opportunities to watch the culture change of UK football.

“I really love what they’ve done over the last year with their team,” Young told KSR. “Coach Stoops has really turned that program around. I love all the coaches up there, and I’ve visited there a lot.”

That is a pound or so below the overall record of 23 plus (not sure of actual weight).

Well, this morning the Bass won. 7 hooked only 2 landed. Warrior Cat 2 - Large mouths 5. Below is the largest one from today (Released). Second picture is on tailgate for reference. About 3 plus pounds.

Well you did great warrior-cat. I knew you wood. Man I'd go crazy after catching one like the young man in eastern KY caught. Always keep us posted and good luck!

Went to the store to get some ribs. If I had me an illegal I would have him tear the silver skin off the inside of the ribs. I hate that part.

Had to whip up a batch of rub. Smelled good. We'll see.

Doing em up in the instapot and finishing under the broiler. Too hungry to light a fire.

If we can land this young man it will be huge. I understand we are recruiting several of his friends. Signing them would be dessert.

Good Monday morning D League

Trust all had a great weekend and you are ready to face another one. We have some pleasant weather today with a current temperature of 62 degrees F. Will reach 86 in the afternoon. Full sun, it will be an exceptional day out there so give it your best shot.

I am excited over our newest football recruit. This is big and when you beat out Georgia you know somebody is doing something right on the staff. Congrats Coach Stoop and we ain't done yet

I have a dental appointment at 9:00. The name of my dentist is "The Gentle Dentist". I will let you know if he is liar or not.

Take care

I have to tell my Bo Diddley story.

The weekend before 9/11 we were boarding our plane in Atlanta for New York City, LaGuardia. My wife, daughter and I had 3 seats together in the cabin and as we took our seat I noticed a man with a very colorful cowboy hat on sitting on the aisle seat in the row behind us. I immediately recognized him as Bo Diddley. I whispered to my daughter there is a very famous R&B guitar player sitting behind us. About half way through the flight Bo got into a discussion with someone next to him about the young people and how they were ruining our culture and none of them had any talent. Just a bunch of noise, He went on and on and on about it. I was enjoying his passion.

When we landed and got up to get our luggage I ask him if I could introduce my daughter to the greatest R&B guitarist that ever lived. He smiled real big, stuck out his hand and we had a great conversation with a lot of laughs all the way to the baggage claim area. He was just the way I thought he would be off the stage. Very congenial and friendly. RIP Bo.

Good morning D.
I was MIA for a short bit.
Went to Nashville...that place was crazy. The NFL draft, a marathon race, jimmy buffet concert & flea market were the heavy hitters this weekend.
On Friday night ESPN came into one of the bars we were at and started filming a bachelorette party right behind us. MY sister in-law climbed over the booth and video-bombed the segment. She pretended to be with the wedding party. The bride to be turned around and said you're not with my wedding party....sister in law said "I am now!". She was part of the NFL draft. Good times.
Stayed out til 2 am Saturday night....last time that's gonna happen.
On vacation all week this week, got my list ready. Daughter gets married Saturday...
Hoping to get in some golf...plan on using ymmot's swing advice.
Need sunshine...

Hey! Been doing some housework this morning.

Off the diet since Friday. Back on today. No weight gain and holding steady at 180.

Gonna mow grass, weed eat, and trim bushes. Then it's off to the patio to do some layout work. Talked to a friend yesterday and we're going to go get lumber on Tuesday. I think this is going to go pretty fast once I get started good.

Football is on the rise. I don't think we need a slogan any longer. Let the results speak for themselves.

Just talked to the lawn boy after he did the yard. Told him I have a white leather couch, love seat and chair that we are getting rid of to down size. Perfect condition. Told him he could have it if he wanted or needed it. He was thrilled and said he had been praying for some furniture for his kids. He has room for extra family space that will be for the kids only. I felt pretty good knowing he needed them and they will be put to good use.

The Lord was surely working here.

I did weed eating and bush trimming just like I said I would. Mowing? Not so much. The tire was low but I thought I could just drive it over to the workshop and put air in it one more time before getting a new one. Nope. Sucker came off the rim again. Mad at myself for not just filling up an air tank and taking it to the mower. Oh well, grass didn't HAVE to be mowed today, I just wanted to stay ahead of the game.

Had to take a break from the layout work. I don't really know what I'm doing and that means I have to think too much. I drank a cold beer and that got me through a bit. I even drew up a sketch to help me visualize. I'm heading back out there with duct tape and black spray paint. This can't be too hard.

Better have another beer though just to be on the safe side.

I thought she was gorgeous when she was young. She had a lot of great songs. She did a great on revisiting older hits

The first time I saw her and I think it was her first TV appearance was on the Johnny Cash Show. She was a very nice looking young lady and had a voice you knew that was going to be as good as it gets. My favorite CD on her as a solo is in Spanish and it was her fathers favorite Mexican songs. And of course the Trio album was a keeper also.
