D-League

When does the cycle work its way back around to the point where UK is allowed to win?,
No way in today's world of subterfuge am I going to believe everything is on the up and up and narratives aren't the driving force. Maybe that makes me sound like a global warming touting dumbass, I don't care. Focus groups could very well inform people of influence due to different scenarios. Don't think of things that are within your realm, think of things that are possible but not necessarily probable. Those are the things that a concerted effort and a fair amount of money and promise of fortune could attain.

It is my belief that the E8 is a far as UK can go with the OAD situation as it is now. Unless we have a superstar on the team (which we don't) and a couple of good upperclassmen (of which we have one). I could see this end months ago. This team could seldom hold on to a lead and put teams away. E8 is not too shabby though.
Plus Duke sucked that last three games. Basically the refs game them two wins before today. Plus the refs called so few fouls on Duke that when they needed to put Michigan State on the line they only got the ball back.

Karma pays off sometimes.

I am just happy as shit that Duke and UNC are not in the final four.

I've had sex with sisters. Not at the same time, i'm not from Tennessee after all. But I never had sex with the Wilson sisters. I consider this a failure in my life. One of the many but one of the more insignificant I promise you. Not as revered as they should be...

I've been to four of their concerts. They are very good. Nancy can play that guitar.
Ann has a strong voice. FCC.

I thought I was watching a replay of the Kansas State game. PJ playing good on the floor and missing free throws. It got us beat both years. Our guards are very average and certainly not of NCAA championship caliber.

Wash Rinse and Repeat.

Yep. You hit it on the head. PJ's foul shooting, Hagan's 7 turnovers, and Herro going 3-11, while not being able to stop his man from getting to the basket, were what beat us. If you had told me that we would hold them to 7-23 from 3 pt range, I would have bet the farm that we won.

My BIL is a professional photographer, family pics and so on. This was taken from his back deck....amazing..He recently bought a high end computerized telescope. This is the Rosette Nebula which is about 5,000 light years from earth and about 130 light years in diameter. To give you a sense of scale, light travels at 186,000 miles per second. If you were to stand at one end of this nebula and turn on a flashlight, it would take 130 years for the light to reach the other end.

Looks like part of a skull.

Sad about the game. We had our chances. Several questionable calls. Didn't cost us the game but didn't help. I'm to emotionally invested in these games.
I am depressed but twice during this time of year. Upon the realization that the game is lost and, the next morning when I wake up it hits me again. I went outside yesterday after the loss and cut grass. Had to do something.

Good morning D-League

They say the sun is coming up today but at my house it is cloudy and it is suppose to rain at 9:15 AM. We are at 60 degrees and the high will be 66. Not a very pleasant day but I guess it is appropriate after yesterday's game I game like that would absolutely crush me when I was young. But since One and Done, not so much. Our players will soon be helping the generational poverty in America we hear so much about. New homes for mama, new cars for family and friends and more gold chain necklaces. The Kentucky Wildcats are doing their share to put money in the economy..

In spite of the doom and gloom, the coffee is very good and I will need a couple of pots this morning before I drink my daily half gallon of ice tea. A double whammy of caffeine for this old boy. Keeps me moving.

I trust all are well in health and in spirit. Spring football is still in session so I will turn my thoughts to another winning football season next year and a good bowl game to attend.

Hey there D-League,

It's a very cool start to the day here in the Chattanooga, TN/North Georgia metro area. Supposed to be sunny and 70's all week, except for the cooler temps today. It's nice to be relatively dry for a while also.

-Man, what a tough way to close out the basketball season, losing AGAIN to a lesser team. Over the last several years, I've grown more calloused to these losses and don't get as emotionally involved anymore. I still have real life to live and whatever happens on a court or out on a field really doesn't impact what I have to do in my daily life. Nevertheless, as a UK grad, I still want them to succeed and reach their potential.

-MLB baseball has started and, at least for me, something that i love to follow. I might visit here every now and then, but it seems like hardly anyone wants to talk about baseball or is even the least bit interested in it. Now that football and basketball is over....

-I probably won't be watching any of more of the NCAA tourney. In fact, the only piece I watched at all was UK games and the last 5 seconds of dewk losing yesterday. It seems odd to have a final four without UK, dook, UNCheated, et. al. Interesting how all this talent from UK, duque, and others often times does not materialize into championships. College basketball is a mess right now.

-You all take care today, enjoy it, and have a good one.

I love watching baseball, too. I follow the Reds, but what is good about baseball is that I am not emotionally invested in it. If the Reds win, great, but if not, I still enjoy watching baseball. As for the talent on these teams, it seems that almost every really talented team loses because of foul shooting. We may have lost 2 National Championships because PJ gagged at the foul line, and Duke lost because Barrett missed one with 5 seconds left. They work on everything else, but lose every year because of foul shooting. It is the easiest thing to practice, and the easiest thing to do, since you are only 15 feet away, and nobody guards you. It is amazing to me that these guys want to make millions of $ playing basketball, but can't shoot 60% from the foul line, in big games.

Good Morning D Leaguers. Yes, depression has set in at our house. The Duke loss was a consolation, but then it added to the depression, knowing that if we had just made one more foul shot, we may have won a NC. Oh well, life goes on. Now let's see who comes back and who we add, late.

Hmm, let me guess how this plays out. So and so, hot-shot recruit, is going to come to UK and set the world on fire when he learns "the system" by February and lead us to basketball nirvana? Preceded by a mass exodus of one and done'ers taking care of their families.

That is what's so frustrating. Something seemingly so easy, so fundamental, trips up otherwise talented players, leaving points on the table.

The other thing is the officiating. With us taking it inside probably 70% of the possessions, and with Auburn manhandling us, they didn't have a foul called on them, the final 9 minutes of regulation. Not one. It was like when the one Auburn kid fouled out, they looked at the stats and saw we only had kids with 3 on them, and said, "We need to even this out". From that point on, it didn't matter what Auburn did, they did not get called for it. And there were several times that UK players just got hacked to pieces under the basket.

I have a 10'' Zhumell telescope, I enjoy looking at the stars! It's amazing what you can see out there in GOD'S universe!!!!

I don't like it either, but it is what it is. As long as the NBA sets the rules, you have to play by them. All you can do is go find the best players you can, teach them as much as you can, and hope they stay more than one year. I'm sure that Cal thought that Herro would be a nice 2 or 3 year player, and it looks like he may be gone after one. Guess you can't blame the kids for wanting the $. If my kid was an academic genius and Microsoft came to him, after his freshman year and offered him millions to come to work for them, even though he had only finished one year of school, he would be stupid not to accept. I don't see much difference.

This is unrelated to UK sports, but has anyone else here tried Publix store brand premium coffee? I'm on my 3rd cup this morning and, I must say, it is really good. A nice surprise.
Thanks for the tip. I have not tried Publix brand coffee and I am going to. When I get deli meat I always request the Publix brand over Boars Head and I really like Boars Head. But Publix is just as good at a lessor price. I am headed to Publix today and will pick up some coffee.

Yes it is the system put in place by the NBA and it is hard to blame a coach. The system in play now may actually punish the Blue Blood programs like Duke and Kentucky. Both schools go after the best of the best and both have proven that is not the path to a National Championship when they leave after one season. Even Anthony Davis had older players to shine. He didn't even have to take the most shots on the team.

Zion and Barrett may have opened a few eyes. Duke invested everything on these two plus a few more Top 10 players. And they are now in Durham waiting on the NBA draft night.

We shop there when on vacation and really like it. Unfortunately, there isn't one in our area. Wish there was.

You also may want to go over to the Cuban/Hispanic isle and pick up a block of Pilon, Bustelo, or La Llave coffee. All three are very good and are staples in Miami for the Cuban coffee stands.

Good morning D-League! Well the sun is shining bright but cold!!! Saw 25 this morning at 5 when I went out to get the paper. Well it hurts to lose but the loses just don't sting like they use to! Maybe old age but my out look is just please GOD give me another few years to enjoy my life, family, friends, KY basketball and the D-League!!LOL I don't watch the ESACCPN but just had to this morning to see the melt down and it was melting!!! Jay Williams was having the biggest melt down of them all!!!! He is a real puke homer!!! Just on and on about whatever that guy's name was that played for puke this year!!! I am glad their season is over!! I went to church before the game was over, but I told one of the guys that if puke loses just shout halleluiah while the preacher was preaching so I would know they lost! D-League have great day!!!
TGIF THANK GOD I'M FORGIVEN!!!

You're right, they have to go after the best. The reason why is that if Cal, or K, would go after 3 star kids, who would stay 3-4 years, then you really take your lumps for 2 years, while they develop, and the fan bases would never accept it. Plus, who is to say that these kids would ever develop? After all, talent usually wins out, and those kids may never be talented enough, regardless of how hard they work. That is why schools like IU, and Bama didn't even make the tournament. Until the NBA changes the rules, these coaches just have to make the best of the way it is.

Hey y'all. Still licking my wounds a bit. And will be until BBM. Don't do football much.

Enjoyed y'alls coimments. Something I noticed. We couldn't get Herro open when he tried to get open off of a screen. His defender was always able to slide thru just enough to keep Herro off of his rhythm. Also, late in the game, I kept screaming for Herro to shoot. Hell, we needed some points. So I'm watching him. One or two dribbles and he would pass. Couldn't get his shot. Maybe he was told to get the ball to PJ only. Of course not sure, but being that kid can get his shot anytime as he jumps so high, again, I kept wanting him to shoot the damn ball.

Now here's the thing. One of two camps, hopefully, will tell him and show him that he can do that and how. It will be Cal and staff or some NBA team. FCC.
