We lost this game for the same reason as when we lost to Kansas St., because PJ Washington can't make foul shots.
I believe the Auburn player was out of bounds under their basket, right before they called KJ for the foul.
Shame really. Bracket opened up for the Cats two years in a row and nada.

Yep, poor guard play, missed free throws (especially the front ends), Herro was non-existent, critical turnovers, questionable shot selection, etc.. It just seemed like they struggled all day. So sad for it to end this way.

Yep. Multiple reasons. Herro was 3-11 from the field, PJ was 6-11 from the foul line and 3 of those were front ends, and Hagans had 7 turnovers. Just a bad game.

I thought I was watching a replay of the Kansas State game. PJ playing good on the floor and missing free throws. It got us beat both years. Our guards are very average and certainly not of NCAA championship caliber.

Last thing I'll say. Auburn is a juggernaut even without Okeke. They've won 12 straight games and haven't lost since the Cat's blew them out in February. They destroyed Tennessee, Kansas and North Carolina. No shame in losing but I still think we had the better team.

The sight of the Auburn player driving for a layup with his arm clearly wrapped around Herro with a ref looking directly at it and ignoring the infraction is forever burned in my mind.
We did enough to beat 5 guys from Auburn. We couldn't overcome the 7 or 8 people on the floor at any given time. That warning on the bench was given as an insurance policy if they should need it later.

Agreed. Kills me too. Outstanding young man. I became a huge Reid Travis fan as the season progressed.
He is that. He will be successful in life with or without basketball. I feel bad for him that his dream was shattered. We lost this game due to poor guard play. Our guards are not good enough to get a team to an NCAA Championship. They got us beat.
Of course Travis is gone. Along with PJ, Herro and Keldon.
It is my belief that the E8 is a far as UK can go with the OAD situation as it is now. Unless we have a superstar on the team (which we don't) and a couple of good upperclassmen (of which we have one). I could see this end months ago. This team could seldom hold on to a lead and put teams away. E8 is not too shabby though.
Herro is a knockout shooter, but easily shut down and isolated. I think he returns. Keldon will test the waters. Rest should return unless recruited over. Depends on agents.
Think Herro is gone. NBA scouts and GM’s love his stroke. PJ has NBA game now. Keldon has all the physical attributes they want, can drive to the hoop and shoot the three.

Maybe that makes me sound like a global warming touting dumbass, I don't care. Focus groups could very well inform people of influence due to different scenarios. Don't think of things that are within your realm, think of things that are possible but not necessarily probable. Those are the things that a concerted effort and a fair amount of money and promise of fortune could attain.

The lack of referees calling fouls on Duke in the second half led to their demise. In the last minute they needed to foul to get Michigan State on the line but they were not in the bonus. So it bit Duke in the butt. How can it get any better.
