D-League

I don't care if you're a cardinal fan as long as you're not stupid. I went to Manual. I started attending the University of Louisville as a senior in high school (academic reclassification) before moving on to UK when I turned 18. I could be a UL fan, last time I checked it was still in Kentucky and I generally support Kentucky schools. But as long as the sports program is a disgusting cesspool of institutional corruption. I'm not interested in their miserable program. Petrino still being there is all I need to know. Skunk weasel U.
Are you too young to remember Sherman Lewis and Paul McPhereson? I played against those guys. Both were excellent. SL was faaaaaast!!! Played at Michigan State.

You're right which is why I've lost a lot of respect for my childhood team and I'm not as interested in sports as I use to be.

I'm hoping that under this new administration they clean things up.

He was a legend. I met him as a senior. He was a new history teacher and assistant coach. I knew Coach T better. I had Hackett blood brothers.

Excerpted from the duPont Manual Hall of fame website. "If not the greatest male athlete Manual ever produced, Sherman Lewis almost certainly stands as the fleetest. He led the 1960 track team to the KHSAA Championship. He was also the small halfback who led the Crimsons in 1959 to an undefeated season and state championship. He went on to be named an All-American and finished third in balloting for the Heisman Trophy. He coached for Manual, the Spartans, San Francisco 49ers, and Green Bay Packers."

Manuel and Sherman Lewis, et al beat us in '59 in Louisville, and we won in '60 on our field.

If yall would like me to avoid posting here because I'm not a Kentucky fan than I'll oblige.

I have no interest in trolling your sports board.

This is a very accepting place and it doesn't matter who you root for. You may have noticed that I have no respect for ul at all, on any level, and I will continue to air my ill will toward them throughout these upcoming seasons. If you're cool with that then we're still cool with you. We used to have a Vol fan that posted here but he switched his allegiance to UK. Perhaps you'll see the light as well!

I appreciate it and some of my best friends are UK fans. I dont think I could ever switch over though since I've been a Louisville fan my whole life.

You can hate away on Louisville it really doesn't bother me. Shit I just left that city for texas lol I'm a texas a & m fan now so I know UK doesn't want the Aggies in football

I respect you more than the guy who says he's a UK basketball fan but an Alabama football fan.

I just bought me a signed denny crum basketball to replace my rick pitino one. Anyone want it before I punt it into the ocean lol
I wasn't particularly a fan of Crum or UCLA. I was young and heard that on the street that Peck was trying to get one up one Rupp, who many believe was corrupt. $port corruption is tolerated as normal out west. Coaches Wooden, Olsen, & Miller. Not unlike the Carolinas. Swamp rats are not new. They thrive on incest.

Fair enough I was too young during his time but he comes off as a respectable man.

My Mom graduated from Manual (1951). Grew up in an apartment in the Central Park area.

Post away. No problems here. I'm a born and bred Louisville native with tons of UL friends and family so I'm immune to the back and forth jabs between UK and UL. I've never been a UL fan though. Can't stand them. Probably because I'm from ground zero in the battleground. I had/have to hear it everyday for decades. It was actually worse when they didn't play each other every year.

Got a roaring fire going in the egg. Put on the cast iron grill and flame broiled some hot dogs, spicy sausage, kielbasa, and hamburgers. Throw in a cold beer or two and it's Labor Day baby!
I was going to smoke a butt for Labor Day but my sister threw a get-together today featuring pulled pork. I'm throwing together Cookout Chili instead. It's just un-American not to at least throw something on the grill for Labor Day. The true last day of summer IMO.

Happy Labor Day D. I hope everyone is getting a restful day. I think I'll drive up to Antietam and hike around the battlefield. It's only around a 50 minute drive for me so I go up fairly often. For a Civil War buff that campaign is endlessly fascinating.

72° F here and sunny.

When I lived in Maryland I frequented Antietam and Gettysburg.

  • Good Morning D-League from the Florida Gulf Coast
  • Currently 78º with a high of 88 . Good chance of afternoon or evening showers.
  • There is a little activity in the Gulf in the form of Tropical Storm Gordon. It is tracking NW and will miss us. Looks like it is headed to Alabama or Mississippi and into Louisiana. It is September and this is the month we have most TS activity, But we welcome it because it brings much needed rain. Rain is always welcome in Florida.
  • On my 3rd cup of coffee and starting to feel alive.
  • Enjoyed a good weekend of college football. Did any SEC team lose other than Tennessee?
  • Everyone enjoy Labor Day and I trust all are well and in good spirits.
  • Life is good.

Good Morning! I woke up at the crack of 1000 raring to go. I'm still sitting here, but on the inside I'm a flurry of activity.

I am pronouncing myself officially in the 180's this morning. Only a few pounds from the initial target weight of 185. However, I may be revisiting that decision and amending the target to 175. Just do it.

@AustinTXCat I was talking with Bert yesterday and told him I would come and visit on the day you were planning to be there, if that's OK with you. @Bkocats if Austin doesn't care to share his visit, do you think you can swing it?

I went to DC in late October, 1963, on my honeymoon. White House, U S Mint, Smithsonian, Annapolis, Fort McHenry, Liberty Bell, Gettysburg etc. Kennedy was assassinated one month later (I had no involvement).
