Cooked a Tbone tonight for me and the missus. Hers has to be medium well and mine has to be medium rare so I give her the little side and I take what's leftover. Made a sauce reduction with the fond, more butter, and a dash or two of balsamic vinegar, In that reduction I sauteed some baby bella mushrooms. One of my better efforts.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 76°F. Expecting 99°F later today. We caught a few sprinkles yesterday after topping out at 101°F. We may see more light precipitation between now through next week. Hope so.

Our basketball Cats play this coming Wednesday. Looking forward to it.

I've got nothing else. Y'all behave.

Did I mention we play basketball that day?

How are you guys doing?

We'll be there on the 17th and 18th in the Bud Tent at 8:00pm

Sounds good. That Saturday will be the only time my wife will be able to make it. I may approach you and introduce myself if you don't mind. I would appreciate it if you don't offer me your autograph though, I don't accept that sort of thing as a rule. TIA

Hey Bev, do you think you and Rob will be able to make it that night?

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites.
  • 81º already in Johns Creek. Glorious day going.
  • I've been up since 0600. Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.
  • You should see this Zoysia. Very pretty.
  • Lola is right here. She'll be asking for the AC when it gets hot. My precious little 10 pounder.
  • 3 more days until Go Big Black.
  • New Avatar for Beverly. Who is that pretty girl?
  • Welcome StinkyMouse.
  • Watch out for Driving Idmos and Super Speeders today. Don't let them kill you and yours.
  • As you were. Carry on.

Ha ha!!
Please come say hi!!
I definitely feel a kinship with my fellow UK fans, especially the ones on this message board.

Big welcome to stenchymouse.

Happy Sunday to all. Good time in Church today.

My first 30 years was spent in the Methodist Church about a mile from my house. And I suppose, and maybe wrongly, that I can be a critic of them. My mom still goes there. I think it was me and starchief that was talking about that a few days ago.

Anyway, On the Solid Rock I Stand. Shalom and FCC.

@UK82 OK, I have read every word written about the SL 220 on the internet and I have now watched every Youtube video. I may not ace the test, but I'll get an A.

Do you listen to MP3's at all?
It's a nice TT and in good condition too. It has an Audio Technica cartridge (model ?) that doesn't have too much usage

I do listen to MP3s especially in the car from my tablet. Also Google Play Music is pretty much MP3. This is such a great time for audio/video. So many different ways to listen and watch. I get the benefits of most formats. I downloaded my entire CD collection in FLAC on jRiver jukebox. I also downloaded several hi-res albums. DSD too. Surprisingly the one piece of equipment I seldom use is my CD player.

I have a DAC that I no longer use and I had it hooked up the Project headphone amp I'm giving you. If you're interested I'll bring that along too. It's an Ol Dac from JDS labs.

You lost me on that last paragraph.

Who are your favorite bands from back in the day? I've got an external hard drive with about 3600 rock and pop albums on it. Probably has every album ever recorded by the 60's through 80's groups.

Very rare for me to use my CD player either. I use USB in my car and just change the albums from time to time.

That avatar is me at age 17
Rob still carries that picture of me in his wallet

Bert, if you're referring to the "DAC" in the last paragraph then it's an outboard digital to analog converter. All digital music has to be converted to analog in order to be heard. CD players, PCs, etc. have built-in DACs that are usually not all that great and can't always play hi-res (resolution) audio. That's where standalone DACs come into play. Better sound and flexibility in playing music.

Like Bert that would be a long list but my 2 favorite genres growing up has to be Southern Rock (Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top) and Prog Rock (Yes, Pink Floyd, ELP). That really just skims the surface though because I love music in just about every genre. In fact my PC jukebox has around 25 genres in total.

Would have been easier to name those you don't like.

Lawn is mowed and I'm a sweaty mess, really ripe too. Now it's time for beer, music, grill, dog, oh and a shower of course.

Music for tonight:

hqdefault.jpg

While I was watching golf I made you a thumb drive with 90 albums of southern and prog rock. That's all it would hold. I didn't put any Van Morrison on there but I have 25 albums of VM. All digital of course.

There are 15 Yes albums. I didn't even know they had that many. 15 Pink Floyd as well. I only got 4 Led albums on there and then ran out of room. I thought it was a 16 gig but it was only 8. If you want, or anyone else here for that matter, want to get at least a 1 TB external hard drive I will put all this music I have plus 400 or so movies. I think it takes about a day to transfer it all.

I also went to church this morning.

I attended a large Methodist church here in the Phoenix area a few years ago. It was one of the most beautiful churches I've been in. I was searching for a church with a traditional worship service (hard to find out West). Very little of the gospel heard there. Never went back.

Could one be an evangelical Christian and serve as a pastor in the UMC?
