OK, I got home at 1300 and went straight into yard beast mode. Took my first break at 1630 and finished up at 1700. Still got a couple of odds and ends to clean up tomorrow but for the most part I'm done. All the shrubs and bushes are trimmed again and all the waste has been raked up. All the weed eating is done plus a little extra because I was determined to beat that evil bitch. I ran it down until it couldn't turn any more. Grass is mowed front and back and sidewalk and driveway have been swept. Truth: used the leaf blower to sweep the driveway.
Aw I know. You guys get all of your rainfall for the year in one day.

I am no longer the high bidder on the turntable and the price has gone up to at least $22. Guess I'll let that one go and try and get one that I can see and inspect in person.
Edit: just went and looked the minimum bid is now up to $42. Guess the guys who know this stuff must recognize the cartridge and stylus as spendy. Oh well.

There are plenty of deals to be found. You might want to check out Magnetic Tape and Recorder on Baxter. You won't find any steals but they've been restoring vintage turntables for decades and usually with a new cartridge. I've been going there for years because they're one of the few places that can work on vintage components like tube gear. The owner retired a few years ago and handed the business down to a young man (maybe grandson) that really knows his stuff. Worth a visit just for nostalgia sake. You won't find a turntable for 20 bucks but at least it'll be in top working condition and they back all they're products.
Ymmot I've got a Technics SL-220 turntable you can have if you want it. It's been stored in an old freezer (non working) for the past 20 years so I have no idea what kind of working condition it's in. It worked fine at the time. The belt may need replacing. It's an entry level model but the cartridge should be fine, maybe. If you're interested I'll give it a test run.

Wow! Thanks bud! Let me know when it's convenient and I can bust over to Louisville anytime. I only have one album at the moment but the reason I want a turntable is I see all kinds of albums all the time at the piddler malls. Some of them aren't worth a buck but there are many with no visible signs of abuse.

Dang man, I don't know what to say. I was just looking at headphone amps a couple of nights ago.
My wife wants to know if you have any jewelry, gold and diamonds, that you want to get rid of. That was kind of funny, but it got much better when she mentioned "antique diamonds".
I opened up our vault and there's an old diamond tiara that my wife stopped wearing to bed years ago. You can have that too.
I hooked up the turntable and it sounds fine after all these years. Actually really damn good.

Wife and I watched Cats vs Hogs, Feb 9, 1994, earlier tonight on SEC Network. Wow. I was stationed in Germany when that game was played. Great seeing all of our former Cats. Hogs won that one. They escaped.
Finally, after three weeks of handling my job and other coworkers jobs it is back to normal next week. They were paying me overtime hours for working through lunch almost everyday to compensate. Going to tack on a few leave days at the end of the month in conjunction with Labor Day to take a break.
Now, Bahama's games to watch this next week with an easier work load during the day. Ahhhhhh. But today, back to the water for some more bass fishing.

- Folks, I fell again after work. I stepped up trying to get in the back door of parking garage and my step=up leg just collapsed and I fell. Wound up on my back. Two policemen helped me to my feet. Both hands were bleeding. I was a mess. Taking blood thinner so I was bleeding like a stuck pig. I must stop taking chances trying to save some steps. I didn't break any bones. Oh, well.
- 4 more days and Go Big Black.
- Sinuses pouring. Yuck.

Going on a ride about noon today. Heading to a cookout with co-workers. Today is also our annual Hottest Day of the Year ride, but I'm not attending. Start point is 9 miles away.
