Good Morning D
8/8/18
Good morning from the Florida Nature Coast.
Current Temp 75 degrees, high today 86 with plenty of sunshine and probably afternoon shower to cool us down. If you enjoy crystal clear water I would recommend a day on the Chassahowitzka River.. Water stays about 72 all year round and it is away from the hustle and bustle of civilization.
Y'all take care and come see us sometime.
[*]Watch the baby deer rescue if you haven't seen it already. Heartwarming. That all happened out West somewhere.
[*]Quiet here. Peaceful.
[*]Be safe today.
[*]DM is good.
[*]As you were.
Good morning Don, football is in the air. I am ready and agree, we need a strong defense this year.
- Good Morning, D-Leagueanites. Welcome to the Oasis.
- 64º in Johns Creek. Very nice. Blue sky.
- 6 weeks from now we'll be talking about the CMU game. I'm ready. I hope our defense is good.
- I am liking our thread more and more.
#2 grandson's employer (Agco) finances farm equipment like that. Thanks for posting that information about your occupation. You are the only person that I know who does that stuff.Wildlife Biologist, Ecological Investigator, GIS Specialist mapping ecosystem components used for analysis by an Atmospheric Physicist for the development of water management strategies by the USDA Agriculture Research Service. In short, use remote sensing tools to determine what's happening where ever an approved scientist needs to know.
Don, I lived in Forsyth County for 21 years and saw it develop from a rural lake county (Lanier) into a bedroom community for Atlanta. My user name Sawnee comes from my time in Georgia and a book I read about Chief Sawnee. I could see Sawnee Mountain from my back deck. It is a great place to live but you know in all of us there is a Sense of Place and my sense of place was down here so I headed back. But I still have many friends in Georgia and miss those "basketball pre-season talks by Larry Conley"One Sunday morning we encountered a fawn on Old Alabama Road. Traffic was buzzing along at about 50-55 mph. This little thing had disobeyed its mama and was on the centerline of OAR. I just knew that some of those fast drivers were going to squash it, but it made it back to the cover. Happy!
Do you remember The Dinner Deck, an all-you-can-eat restaurant (Fried Catfish and Fried Chicken) on top of exit 13? We used to eat there a lot with our best friend next door neighbors. Leukemia killed him about 30 years ago. I took him of his last golf outing. Sad. His widow lives in Forsyth County. Fine folks. She used to make Caramel Corn for me every Christmas.Don, I lived in Forsyth County for 21 years and saw it develop from a rural lake county (Lanier) into a bedroom community for Atlanta. I do recall that area. Of course it is all changed now. I lived off of Bald Ridge Marina Road (exit 15). When I moved there we had the only house down our road. Now Costco is next door and they are building 250 housing units. Soon it will be like Roswell.Do you remember The Dinner Deck, an all-you-can-eat restaurant (Fried Catfish and Fried Chicken) on top of exit 13? Very true.Ceiling fan replacement complete...aw the nice quiet sound of a whispering ceiling fan
Cattleman's in Shepherdsville was dinner last night...left full as a tick on a beagles back
getting maters by the sack, cucumbers as well...BLT's may be on deck for tonight
awesome weather, can actually sit outside with morning coffee and not melt
July bout gone..hate to say it but Christmas coming on fast..speeds up every year I think
Prolly hit Lowes up for a look around ( getting new weber grill fever) one I have now is 13 yrs old, still looks and works good but grills are like cars, you can have a perfectly good car, stop to eyeball some newbies then the fever is on....FACT!
not much shakin...carry on
If it's working properly then you can't go wrong at that price point. That model looks like it's a belt drive which I prefer. Direct drives can be a little noisy especially at the lower end. You can easily upgrade the cartridge for better sound but it probably will sound fine as is.Good morning! My sense of place is right here.
I've had my coffee already and have been doing research for the last 3 hours.
@UK82 I've got a bid in on an old Technics SL-BD10 for $14.99. Auction doesn't end until Aug 3rd and I've got my max bid set at $20. I know it's a bottom of the line piece but it's basically free so i thought I would give it a shot. It's got a Shure Pro4 stylus on the original T4P cartridge.
Taking it easy today.

Good luck with the bid!
Yeah, this happens once every year with a carnival and a lot of food including fried rattlesnake.
I have tried rattlesnake meat. Not too bad. Years ago Publix grocery store sold canned rattle snake meat but I haven't seen it in years. I use to attend a wild game cookout at Cedar Key, FL once a year and they served all game meat. Rattlesnake was on the menu with gator, coon, armadillo, etc.

Looks awesome. I have a great recipe for stuffed bell peppers. I've made it several times and like most things, it's even better warmed up the next day after all the flavors blend. I'll definitely give those pepper subs a shot. Thanks.
Yeah, I wanted a belt drive system and I've already been researching styli upgrades. May not need one but i would think after 30 years the one that's on there had been down many miles of grooves.
Q: Does anyone know how many grooves are on the A side of the average 331/3 LP?
Life is good
Me at my sons house yesterday.
Had a party. His pool and the view are great:

My vintage Dual from 1973 has an idler wheel just like the Thorens. I really like it.I've had both, I liked DD too. I'm happy with my belt.
My parents honeymooned there in April 1956. Still married too.I enjoy taking a least one and sometimes two "day trips" a week and this coming week I am considering going over to the east coast and St. Augustine. It is a great walking town and has as much history as any city in America. If you haven't been, check it out.

It really is a neat place to spend a few hours. Beautiful and interesting. They say some of the live oak trees are still alive that were there when Ponce de Leon discovered it in 1593.My parents honeymooned there in April 1956. Still married too.

Yes it is, April 2, 1513. Over 100 years before the PilgrimsHa! Congrats! You're the first person I've ever asked who knew the answer to that question.
I would say it has MORE history than any other city. Isn't it still the oldest?
Thank you I, I appreciate your thoughts and really enjoy the posts. This is becoming my favorite of all of Cats Illustrated. Here you find intelligent and thoughtful posters who enjoy life. Hard to find in other spots.Hey Sawnee, welcome to the bunch here. Hadn't said it so I thought I would. Glad you're here. FCC.
