Yep, I'm a GSD nut....
Definitely a handsome breed!

I retired early. Geeze!

As the unbiased mediator I’ve carefully reviewed the pleadings from both Bert and Railroad. After a thorough and rigorous review of the case before me I have reached a just and definite conclusion based on the facts presented .

1. UP had a $1.3 billion net income first quarter.
2. CSX had a $770 million net income first quater.

This $530 million difference at first seems to indicate a clear and undeniable decision for RR. However, after further review of the operating income statements of both entities it was determined that this differential is due to the bi-weekly checks mailed to Bert for the first quarter.

Based on these findings I declare it a tie.

Seems fair. Reasonable assumptions. Bert's rich.

Performing one of those small unpleasant chores tonight that keep a marriage humming along -- watching the Tony Awards with my NYC raised wife who loves musical theatre.

UPDATE: good for my wife. She shut off the show in disgust as the political nonsense became intolerable. The entertainment world has become unbearable. The smug elitist nonsense is childish and ludicrous.

Good morning D
Coffee...
Wedding reception on Saturday - open bar
Meh...Monday.
The difference between the Monday morning low vs Friday afternoon high is astronomical.
Don't we have a D leaguer that could explain this...in astronomical terms?

BTW wildcatdonf...excellent pic of the family (a page back).

Good morning. Got plenty of sleep. Put in 12 hours in the workshop yesterday but 3 of them were just listening to tunes on my new speakers. Spent about an hour fixing the problem on the first speaker. Left off a couple of wires.

Got it fixed and fired it up. Wow! Sounded great. I cranked it up a little at a time and made sure each driver was playing and then my phone rang. My wife was calling from the house to ask if I had the speakers going. I told her I had one of them playing. She could hear the music in the house with the windows up and the tv on. Haha.

The second one went together much easier than the first because I already knew what needed to be done and didn't have to figure it out as I went. With both of them playing I was amazed that I was hearing things in the music that I had never heard before.

They will only sound better after I get the coating on them and they break in some more. I'm very pleased with these because I had my doubts at times. I'm about $280 into these at the moment and the performance is ridiculous for that price point. Recommend.

Ugh. Bad news from my older daughter. She and husband and my granddaughter just completed a two-week vacation that took them to my house in Maryland for her brothers' HS graduation, to Kentucky to see all her cousins and aunts and uncles from my family, then to see friends along the way back to Kansas City.

They just made it back to KC when she started experiencing severe stomach pains. Bottom line - needs a quick appendectomy. Feel bad for her and of course nervous. But the timing sure could have been worse. She's at a big city hospital in KC where her husband's sister is a doctor. Still...

Damn. Hope all goes well for her.

Thanks Don. In surgery now. Obviously I wish I could be there, but it came on fast. Her husband and his large family are with her. I'm just going to assume it is a routine operation, and that someone was looking out for her that her pain didn't strike until she was back home from a couple thousand mile road trip.

UPDATE: The marvels of modern medicine: Operation went well, appendix removed. And there is a chance my daughter will be discharged by the end of the day. Wasn't expecting that.
