Funny thing. I check out the audio forums on many sites and all posters claim to be audiophiles. Do they have to take a test to be an audiophile? Is there some sort of a degree from a university? Self proclaimed audiophile? I guarantee 10 percent of those that claim to be audiophiles are really audiophiles. I'll just sit back and enjoy the music.

I guess I'm an audiophile too then. I don't like bad sound. I'm not a good audiophile though because I realize it is subjective and I'm not going to snob out on someone. I've known guys who wouldn't even listen to compressed music because it sounded so awful. What?

Had to take my wife to work this morning. She has some headlight problems with her car. Weird stuff going on. Expensive stuff.

What a beautiful day it's been!

I've got some baby back ribs going in the instant pot. Not the way I want them but I can be eating them 1 hour after stripping the membrane off. Finish up under the broiler to caramelize the sauce and put a little bark on them.

Wouldn't be afraid of anything if I was in a gang stealing goods out of ICGRR's rail yards.I worked out with an ICG special agent in Paducah in a local gym. He was a man and strong one. Armed with only a hand gun. Police wouldn't come to help as the gangs had bad automatic weapons. He was so happy to transfer down to Paducah.

East St. Louis is a bad place too Bert!

Good morning. On my way to pick up Dad soon. We have an appointment to have the catheter removed from his chest that they used for dialysis prior to him getting the shunt in his arm. He'll be happy to see that go and so will I.

Morning D League. A little drama for MD last night. Finishing up a work day around 7pm when I get a call that my wife is in an ambulance heading for a hospital near our home after a car collision. No further details available.

All is well, she got out of it with a bruised sternum and some other minor boo boos. Out of the hospital by bedtime, and she was able to sleep with a prescription pain reliever.

But for those minutes until I could get there, not knowing, it was unpleasant thinking of what could be happening with her. The old cliche is true - don't take anything for granted. As Warren Zevon said, enjoy every sandwich.

That was my point. He grew up in E. St. Louis and was scared of Phily. I missed my exit once and ended up on South Street (the song "where do all the hippies meet"). I nearly messed my pants until I got back on the interstate.

They weren't willing to remove the catheter today. They couldn't feel what they thought they should in his shunt. Now we have to go back on Thursday morning and they'll run some dye through there to have a look and see if something's wrong. It's a bummer because he was looking so forward to it. I was as well because I know how much it means to him. Oh well, we'll deal with it.
