Posting on this thread has been a welcome distraction since last winter and you folks have been a wonderful source of comfort and strength for me. I search for words to thank you.
I thought of you when we passed that Waddy/Peytona exit sign early Sunday morning. I held my brother’s hand and lost him to the ages at Nortons shortly after. His confusion and suffering are finally over. He was a good man.
I’ve seen a mink, fox, coyote and eagle since yesterday morning. I think of y’all every time.

Went to pick up Dad today and when I went to sleep last night around 0000, I thought I would wake up at 0800. Nope. Came to at 0950. Put the whole day in a skew. Made it there and we still had a good adventure. In fact, I woke him up when I called.
My sincerest condolences. I have no doubt that he was a good man and will be missed by your family.

She is doing much better thank you for asking.
I have what I guess you could call a funny story about the night I took her to the hospital. I took her and dropped her off at the hospital, (I wanted to go with her but she didn't want our boys to be in the hospital). The hospital is up on a hill and we live directly at the bottom of the hill. So I am texting her checking up on her, she suddenly stops texting back after about 15 minutes I'm getting pretty nervous. Then my I hear a helicopter coming in, now we may only see a helicopter once or twice a month come in, so I'm thinking this is too much of a coincidence. I immediately call the hospital as it turns out she was in the process of being discharged, and the helicopter was totally unrelated.
Glad to hear she's doing better. I guess now I can tell you that a temp of 106° had me very worried. My sister is like a microwave in my brain and if she talks to me too long then I'll hit about 105° and I have to step away. Your wife is tough.
I was worried too, her temperature being that high is what made me nervous about the helicopter.
So I wake up this morning and find out some poor sap got shot to death in the parking lot of my apartment complex. First time in the 6 years I’ve been here that we’ve had any violence other than domestic situations. Dead guy didn’t even live here.
Suspect did this at the crack of dawn with witnesses present. Wearing a lime green safety vest (I kid y’all not). Shoulder length dreads. Just walked away afterwards.

We had something like 3 murders in our neighborhood over a 2-year period. Drugs. Kind of shocking, but nothing we can really do. We're still here and never really gave it another thought.
