I knew he pulled the same stunt in 95. I've read in this thread that he's did this on more occasions than just that one. I'm just curious to know when the other times were. Anyone?
I mean, I find it very hard to believe this just so happen to be a problem right after Allen's tripping BS and the beat down Va. Tech. gave to them. It's not a coincidence.
Wow.. Crazy. I always though K was talented enough to get the 1AD players.. But the grind of it.. The egos, the roster uncertainty, etc.. Would be too much for him.

He's only in it for himself and wants another NC. As soon as he sees it as not probable he'll leave, high and dry.
If Duke were looking better on the floor, Giles and Bolden were looking like the players they were talked up to be while sitting the bench in those nice suits, then K absolutely wouldn't be getting this done right now. Instead, K is ruining Giles' future and Bolden is being exposed as a VERY average freshman player. Tatum is fine, but Duke without a PG is toast. Who knows how the hell Trippy's saga will end. I know he's went down about 30+ spots on nbadraft.net board.
Giles will keep slipping down the charts the more they try to play him. He's obviously not right. Not sure if he's hurting, if he's scared to let loose on the floor, or if he's just unsure of his abilities at this juncture. He probably should've never stepped on the floor for his own sake.
Funny how Goodman felt the need to add that last part. He knows how this looks. Truth is though, the record is good and the team isn't terrible. Tells me something else might be going on behind the scenes. Maybe a rift over the Allen tripping suspension or something we don't know about yet. You can bet K wants Allen back in the lineup yesterday, as evidenced by the fact that he allowed him to play in the second half of his last trip game. Could he be butting heads with the Duke AD?

Well you could be right, I suppose and I might even agree if he didn't have a history of pulling this. Kinda like when they tell us Grayson Allen is a changed player and then he goes out repeats the same behavior.

K wants to stick with his less talented veterans like Matt Jones and narrow his rotation down to around 7 guys - pretty much what he's always done. Meanwhile I suspect Capel is pushing to give the freshmen more pt because he knows the competition is going to use it against them in recruiting.
Plus there is the issue of promises made during certain players recruitments - don't think Capel wants another Thornton this year.

His back seemed fine when he was starting Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, and Draymond Green.

Yeah this could go off the rails pretty quickly...they play in clearly the best conference in the country and Coach K couldn't get Kennard, Jackson, or Tatum to play a lick of defense. You think Capel is going to get them to play cohesive defense both half court and transition?? Plus they don't have a PG on the roster and there best distributor is a chronic tripper who has to be getting on the nerves of other players on the team privately. Haven't even mentioned chemistry and playing time issues. Duke could get it together as they have more talent then anyone but this could also be a spectacular disaster.

For those saying it's nothing like 1994-95, when he did it then they were 9-3 and had just lost to UConn, so the record is comparable.
A lot of people's backs hurt. The millions he is making should ease it somewhat.

Hadn't really thought much about chemistry issues until Kennard was quoted as saying something about not everyone thinking team first (or something like that). I'm guessing that was aimed at either Bolden, Allen or Tatum. Since Bolden barely plays, and Tatum just started playing major minutes, I'm thinking it was Allen.
I have been dealing with three herniated disc in my lower back since a collision in 1989. It comes and goes with the weather. I say he could deal with it if he wanted to. There are good meds out there.......K once again finds an out!
BTW, this thread is not showing up for me since it was merged with my thread. I checked and the person who started the thread it was merged with is not on my Ignore list, so I don't understand it.
