CI Wrestling Thread #56

I think Cage is a worker and a machine (pun intended). Was so excited to see him when he showed up. Now y’all know i love AEW, but they don’t really use big guys too well. Miro took a second, but I think that was by design.

cage needs to be an enforcer like Wardlow, but utilized more than Wardlow. Don’t be afraid to have him squash talent. He looks intimidating… make him intimidating.

Brian Cage has responded to the tweets and agreed with them.

Brian Cage debuted by winning the #1 contenders match, and then got to fight then world champion Moxley at Fight for the Fallen last year, so he got a good first push.

Miro, Archer, Cage, all could be monsters. Miro is the one currently being pushed.

Cage has a good physique, is a solid worker, but has no charisma and can't cut a good promo. I don't have anything against Cage, but if I was TK I would call him in, sit down with him and tell him if he's unhappy, AEW will release him from his contract and he can go wherever he desires *immediately* if he thinks he can go somewhere else and be utilized better.

He may even be the first wrestler to leave AEW for WWE.
Vince would love a good meat head

Idk why Cage didn’t go to WWE in the first place. Did they not reach out? I think he has all the tangibles, minus mic. Which with all the mouth pieces in AEW, why haven’t they put him with someone better then Taz. Team Taz’s failure is not on Cage at all.

A fair point about WWE, my guess is that TK outbid WWE because WWE had already locked most everybody else up, and Cage was one of the few free agents available out there. I also believe Cage was recuperating from surgery, so he supposedly signed with AEW in Jan 2020 and didn't debut until May 2020, so TK may have been pursuing while WWE was waiting for him to recuperate before pursuing him.

I don't think Taz is a bad choice as a manager for Cage, but I think Cage needs a more exclusive mouthpiece. Maybe get him his own manager, or even join forces with Archer and have Jake Roberts as his manager.

Watched AEW last night for the first time. The best part was when dude called Pillman's wife Methany and said she should have aborted the kid. Good times. You all have fun with that.
That was the best part of show, along with the Danielson segment. I can't believe people thought the Moxley match was good. I say was the worst match on the show.

Cage looked like this when he was with WWE.

I only watched the first show. It was just blatant propaganda for the Saudis. They even showed a promo about how 'progressive' Saudi Arabia is because they finally started allowing women to drive.

I really don't care if they run shows there. But just shilling for them is beyond reproach.
My personal favorite was the gay Balor Club is for everyone shtick at Mania 2018 which didn’t make an appearance for the Saudi show soon after.

Zero balls.

See, now I hadn't understood the reason Andrade turned on Chavo while I was in the live audience, and now watching the show I now see the match is a "to be continued" because Andrade was mad that Chavo made him win with help, which makes me understand, because I wanted that match to finish clean, too.

They didn't show it on TV, but the reason Riho and the audience reacted after Riho threw her outfit out of the ring before the match started was because Orange Cassidy just stood with his arms outstretched as it fell to the ground.

Also, there was a guy in the front row who was dressed like Orange Cassidy and when OC was on his side of the outside ring with his back to the guy he was mimicking everything OC did. Attention whores have no shame.

A new report has emerged following speculation about Tessa Blanchard potentially joining either WWE or AEW.

Blanchard has been considered one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world, but according to BodySlam, don’t expect to see her in either of the top companies any time soon.

As per BodySlam’s report, a source said Blanchard is considered “nuclear”, and “nobody wants near her”.

Weird that her 67 year old father is gainfully employed after being out of wrestling for like 3 decades, but 26 year old Tessa, arguably the best women's wrestler in the world, can't get a job in any major wrestling fed.

We shall see…

Earlier this week, it was reported that there is still no interest in Tessa Blanchard from WWE or AEW. Blanchard was accused last year of being a racist person. Click here for more on the story. She was later accused of trying to dig up dirt on Allysin Kay. Blanchard has denied allegations that she is racist.

Dave Meltzer stated on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio that there are some people in AEW who would want the company to hire her but there are others who are against the idea.

Tessa definitely has friends in AEW. She’s been long time friends with Britt Baker, Brian Cage and several others. JMO but it sounds like some of the evps would want to sign her but TK is the one against it. Hell he gave Ivelisse a chance, I don’t know why he won’t Tessa.

Well ok then…

Bryan Danielson jumped from WWE to AEW, making his AEW debut at All Out just months after headlining WrestleMania.

Before leaving WWE, Danielson spoke highly of wanting to work wrestlers in different promotions and WWE was reportedly willing to make that happen.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE promised Danielson the ability to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Vince McMahon gave him permission to wrestle in the G-1 Climax Tournament.

Meltzer goes on to report that AEW and WWE offered Danielson similar money and WWE would allow him to do limited dates as well.

I still wouldn’t be terribly surprised in a few years of TK owns the whole wrestling empire - even if he is just a stakeholder
