CI Wrestling Thread #56

also I really hope they don't try and do any sort of real fights with MMA guys. That'll lead to crap like Bart Gunn and the early 2000s when Inoki was making New Japan guys fight. Hell even Jushin Liger had some MMA fights

Idk I read a story about it but he was a monster heel in wcw

I've said this multiple times. I saw Mick Foley and Vader at Lexington Comicon do a panel about their match when Mick lost his ear. Mick said that in his days at WCW it wasn't uncommon for people to show up at Center Stage and see their name with Vader and then run off and quit the business altogether. and no one ever thought less of them.

I want to say Vader got hurt once so Vince lost faith in him but he was way underutilized in wwf - meanwhile wcw maximized him

Stubhub went from 2500 tix to 800 tix for the chicago show tonight. Ticketmaster ran out of resale tickets at 6

PwInsider folks reporting the Sasha-Bianca match may not be happening tomorrow. Banks isn’t even at Smackdown.
Maybe Becky returns tomorrow?

As much as I like AEW TK really needs to stop with the “we’re going to change wrestling forever stuff.”

AJ coming out with Punk or even interfering in the women’s match would be cool. Other than Brock I can’t think of anyone who’d be that big of a deal.

No way you debut Punk and Danielson on the same night.

I just feel like the biggest thing to “change” wrestling forever would be an NWO 2.0 faction showing up with Punk. Who? DB/Punk/Strowman/AJ Lee. Idk. I’m fully just expecting Punk to show up, cut a promo and leave.

Curious to see if they end the show with an angle instead of Mox going clean over Garcia.

What was a bigger pop? This pop was 7 years in the making lol
Triple H returning from the quad injury is probably the loudest I've ever heard. Then you have Rock coming back to Raw as host of Mania, and of course Punk's entrance at Money in the Bank. All subjective though. Tonight was a special moment for wrestling, and I LOVED that Punk didn't mention WWE or refer to them as "New York."

Austin’s music hitting during the Rock-Mankind “butts in seats” match created probably the gold standard pop. For those of you who weren’t watching back then, you can’t imagine how over he was. I was in Rupp for the post-Survivor Series Raw and it sounded like a damn jet was taking off when his music hit.
