CI Wrestling Thread #56

I’m at lunch with a friend and discussing theme music:

jungle boy, while as boring as paint drying…but I get his theme song because he’s a young good guy, getting fans involved, but good lord. That wild thing theme for Moxley is LAME. Him coming out to that is the textbook definition of a guy cosplaying trying to be a bad ass

  1. Living the Gimmick's Jon Alba reported that, despite Paul Levesque and the NXT teams assertions that the brand is a third brand and not simply developmental, that is exactly how it is presented in backstage meetings and internal memos.
    The report comes on the heels of WWE's treatment of NXT champion Karrion Kross on Monday's Raw, where lost to Jeff Hardy in 1:40 in his debut match. There was no pomp or circumstance that typically accompanies his entrance, and there was no Scarlett by his side.
    Instead of the dominant force NXT spent the last year building, at the expense of its main event talent like Adam Cole, Finn Balor, Kyle O'Reilly, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, he was beaten quickly by a guy whose most recent match was a loss to Veer on Main Event.

This isn’t new with Vince. He’s had a history of reshooting things, even in front of live crowds.

during TV tapings, he’d have wrestlers reshoot a match with the same enchantment talent because the finish was bad, leaving fans in attendance confused

I’ve heard Cornette talk about him and the midnights in the ring and when Iron man hit…it legit scares the piss out of them, lol

Even past their prime, this pop still gives me chills

 
that all womens PPV a few years ago was pretty good. It was stupid that in 2018 WWE acted like they are the reason women are allowed out of the house was really dumb, but the show was good.

No, he’s personally a POS. Not an act and when a guy who isn’t even 200 pounds gets embarrassed by Michael Jackson😂, the audience can no longer buy you as being able to beat up guys that are 250+ and much bigger.

He only appeals to the most obnoxious of smarks. His time has passed.
 
NXT did 709,000 viewers on Tuesday and a .20 in the 18-49

Dynamite did 1,148,000 viewers last night, third highest ever. They did a .44 in the 18-49.

Looks like they were the #1 show on cable in 18-49 for a second straight week.

Good for AEW. Since getting back on the road, their shows have been more enjoyable to watch.

She’s been on Dynamite a couple times and has been on the Dark shows a lot.

She’s losing weight and starting to get in pretty good shape.

Speaking of, anyone remember Jamie Hayter? She was a kinda chunky pale girl with half of her hair black and half orange? She had two matches on Dynamite back in November 2019. Anyway she’s unrecognizable now.

Just as I hoped once Cena loses to Roman it looks like they will start the build up to Roman/rock

also sounds like Bryan will work in new japan

it’s been dull for a long time but looks like wrestling is starting to get more interesting again
 
Wrestling twitter is going insane right now with Punk/Bryan. Too many people coming out and saying they're both done deals to AEW. I wouldn't buy into this stuff. People are just wanting clicks. Also they're saying that DB/Punk is not the biggest thing that TK has up his sleeve for the year.... ok....... ummmm.... thoughts?

Whether it’s true or not I wish they wouldn’t have had it leak if it’s true unless they are trying for a monster ratings pop with the build up

at least the Cena mitb return was pretty tight lipped and only a few ppl knew

Just enjoy the pop when he comes out. You don’t know the guy. Nothing about him is a POS. Lmfao.

Not to disparage, but how much do they move the "mainstream" needle?
