Celtics will come back and win this series.

I pulled for the Celts growing up for 2 reasons back in the day …Larry Bird and the passion Boston fans have the sport reminded of Kentucky fans
Lot of bandwagon Celtic fans on here. Lots of bravado with no recourse. I’m a Lakers fan (except during these Lebron years), but I at least lived in Los Angeles and Hawaii.

More a Bird fan than a Celtic fan …but as I said previously, Boston franchise reminded me so much of UK with their passionate fan base, team style of play and overall success including championships …I was young at the time but I got to watch the tail end of Bill Russell’s career …especially the year he was a player and the head coach at the same time .

With an 82 game season, and then the play offs, you’re bound to have an interesting game every once in a while.

That doesn’t mean the nba is a good product. And for many people it isn’t. Capitalizing every other letter like a teenager doesn’t add any validity to your position.

You're right, the NBA is losing money and it's product is failing.

NBA to me is who has a more likeable team now,, and only in the championship game.. If a team has Duke,, UL or UT players then they're auto unlikeable or if they have LeFlopBitch.. Was once a Boston fan when Bird was there then switched to Bulls til MJ retired.. Fan of no team since..

Blow up the frame on the left and you'll see the time/Horford's yet to foul him.
I kept waiting for a NBA hater to post something like this. The NBA is not rigged The Heat had every chance in the world to win that series and it took a Marcus Smart shot spinout and the ball to go directly into the hands of White to win the game. The last play was bad luck for the Heat but somehow a hater can think that was rigged is beyond me. Heat still have a shot in game seven and who knows what can happen. I hope the hater that twitted this has to watch every pre game show and listen to game seven discussed 24/7 on ESPN. They would tell you that they won't be watching but believe me THEY WILL AND I KNOW FOR DAMN SURE I WILL. Eat S&^% Hater!!

Not me. Grew up in MA and been a life long fan of the Celtics. Other than he went to Duke, don't understand all the hate for Tatum in this thread. He's a great player and I'm not aware of anything he's done to say he's a bad person. I kind of understand the anti Grant Williams stuff but he no longer players for UT and we even have some folks on here that want us to sign a it transfer for our beloved Cats. Kind of hypocritical. Anyway, I'm pulling for the Celtics to make NBA history on Monday night. GO CELTICS!!!

The last play was drawn up for Tatum …listening to Tim Legler diagnose the play …when the ref handed the in bounder the ball the guy guarding him immediately backed off and faded to double Tatum …that left Derrick White open after Smart took the shot …the only place where the ball could have gone to allow the Celts to score was where White was …Legler said it was just lucky for Boston and unlucky for the Heat .

And on Tatum …I do think he kinda faded in the 4th quarter but I don’t think he was trying to avoid taking the last shot …the way the double happened it probably wouldn’t have been a wise decision for White to throw it and Tatum would have to have been fading away from the basket not towards it just to receive it .

Playoffs are pretty good. However, nothing like 1990s NBA and playoffs. Not even close.
You mean back when essentially one team and specifically one man ruled over the entire game? Those were fun times and maybe it makes us more comfortable to remember 25-30 years ago when we were all much younger but at some point I just think it's best to be in the now and not continually harp on what once was. It was fun to obsess over the '90s in the 2000s but we're halfway done with 2023 now. So yes, '90s NBA was fun but how would you feel about one team and one player owning the NBA for nearly a decade now?

Lmao there shouldn’t have been anymore time put on the clock. That was obvious. Who the fvck are you anyway?

You mad? I am strictly talking about the clock situation which is shown in that pic. It's worthy of discussion related to the situation and why they didn't take the time for the viewers to see the replay in a critical situation. We all got to see the foul was behind the 3pt line....but the clock is also a factor. Never saw that synched up and it's poor production and poor of the NBA to not let viewers see that. It's indisputable to argue against that.

That's my only complaint and this happened to be a tweet that showed that picture of the play. It's simple--just box out or go tip/get the ball but how they came to a conclusion there was 3 secs left is worth showing and it's obvious that wasn't the amount of time that should've been on the clock.

So long as you have multi-game series.. the league will always want a series to go the distance. I have no doubt in my mind that the NBA will give a bit of a "nudge" to the team whose win would help get another game in the playoffs.

.. and while that is a form of "rigging", it's not specifically trying to help specific teams. You have to know that if your team is up 3-0, and with another win the NBA would lose THREE games.. thennyes, they're going to give some calls to the team that's down three games. Sometimes that works for you, sometimes, it works against you.

So the NBA isn't really rigged..

..except when it comes to the Houston Rockets and the NBA Draft..

The clearest example of this being false IMO is Lebron (of all people) not getting the call going into contact at the buzzer in game 4. Very easily could have been called, and at least extended the game, and possibly the series out

Well, I’m been trained to hate Boston, so go Heat! Where did all the Heat fans from 10 years ago run off to? I know of very few people from Massachusetts or New England living here in KY. Almost every Celtics/Patriots fan are from KY.

And, likewise, I really dislike the Lakers. Like to see AD do well but have the Lakers lose. Honestly, I no longer follow the NBA much. Just keep track how our UK guys are doing mostly. But, if Celtics pull off history I'll be pulling for them in the championship series, though I have nothing against the Nuggets. Just rather see the Celtics regain the lead in all time NBA titles.

Side noye: I grew up in MA but got two degrees from UK and live in Kentucky. Always loved it here in the Bluegrass and rather live here than any other state. Love my Cats too!

I don’t remember saying either of things. Would mind re quoting my post and boldening/underlining where I said those things?

Not everyone bases their opinions on a product’s revenue.

Look at how profitable the European soccer leagues are. I don’t see very many folks on this forum clamoring to watch more of their product.

Or how about tobacco. Very profitable. Terrible, deadly product.

If you want more examples, please, don’t hesitate to ask. Just because a product is successful and makes money does not make it good.

You seem to struggle with separating fact from opinion. Your reply put words in my mouth that I never said. You’re typically better a poster than that. Straw man arguments, just like capitalizing every other letter, don’t add validity to your opinion.

Been a Heat fan for many years. Go to a few games every year in Miami and Indy. DWade was the man.

I love the NBA. It’s a great game. Best players in the world playing real basketball. It’s about the players. Not coaches or referees.

I’m a lifelong Celtic fan. But this is a very unlikable Celtic team. I still want them to win though.

But neither the Celtics or Heat have anything for the Nuggets.

As for the league making money, it’s killing it at the bank. Most games are sellouts. The TV contracts are at a record high.

Basketball is the fastest growing sport in the world. Pro leagues in almost every country now.

It is truly a worldwide game.

Boston has tons of UK connections too.

Jayson Tatum still grimacing from the early ankle sprain but trying to play through it …man with a game of this magnitude I hate for a star player to be hobbling 😩
