Hey guys bringing kido up Friday and Saturday for her campus visit. Anyone got a few spots to share because I've been really busy with a sick parent and haven't done much search. Staying at the Guest House because I had a free Hotels.com night. Food or Fun ideas will be appreciated.

Be sure to button the top button on your shirt if you're wearing a polo shirt. Otherwise, you may get a wood shampoo from the UK morality police.

Walk around campus. The Student Center is very nice. Memorial and the Kraft Center is across the street - you might get to walk in.
You can stroll into the Craft Center. Last time I walked in, I just asked a lady who worked there if I could watch practice. She let me into a glass room at half court above the court to watch. Unit this old dude noticed me and came to ask me to leave. But I watched for a good 20 minutes first.

Joe Bologna's is one of my go-to's whenever my family and I visit Lexington. I know the on-campus dining options have really expanded in recent years but I haven't tried them.

I don't know what your price range or personal tastes are, but I like the following restaurants ordered from cheap to pricey:

-Bourbon and Toulouse (Cajun food)
-County Club
-Red State BBQ
-Merrick Inn
-Tony's

If a trip to Lexington doesn't include Winchell's breakfast, then it wasn't fulfilling. Around the corner is Sharp's candies, which is phenomenal. Agree with Josie's for brunch. Saw Big Dawg in there one time, so it's good enough for the UK coaches.

If you're into book stores, Lexington Green is great.

Taco Ticos are scattered around Lexington. Better than Taco Bell ever dreamed of being and have a local cult following.

Evan's Orchard and Eckert's Orchard are nearby in Georgetown and Versailles, respectively.

Malone's steakhouse has a great salad and basically everything else.

Raven Run is a possibility if you're interested in hiking.

The Aviation Museum of Kentucky is out at Bluegrass Airport.

West Sixth, Country Boy, Blue Stallion, and other breweries have great taphouses.

Gatti-town if you all are feeling up to a massive, classic arcade and buffet.

Jacobson Park is nice for a walk or kite flying or whatever. The fields there are massive.

Just be aware that when you're traveling in Lexington this weekend, you'll be contending with thousands of Keenlanders... On opening weekend.

Have fun!!!

I believe the GuestHouse is adjacent to Hamburg, which offers many dining options, from fast food, Cracker Barrel, to other more elegant dining options. On campus there are multiple dining options within the Student Center varying from Chick-Fil-A to an all you can eat buffet option (with multiple varieties to choose from). B&N Bookstore is in the SC, with many options for UK gear (although a bit pricey). There are multiple dining options off campus, but near, offering a variety to include Mexican, pizza, Korean, fast food, sandwich shops, etc. Check out the street level of the Cornerstone Garage (PS #5) for other dining and/or entertainment options. During normal business hours the Craft Center should be open (on Friday, not sure about Saturday) where you can walk through several MBB museum displays in the main corridors. May also get to peek into Memorial Coliseum where the WBB & volleyball teams play home games. The Student Center is a must see, particularly the Atrium/Social Stair which was designed to replicate cascading streams of eastern KY. The Worsham Theater is adjacent to the Atrium, with high sound quality. The Gatton College of B&E is an interesting bldg. (particularly their atrium, with a dining venue), as is the Law Bldg. Both located in central campus close to Admin. Dr., & close to the Student Center. There are multiple displays running in the Art Museum, within the Fine Arts Bldg. There may also be displays @ the SA/VS on Bolivar St. if interested in the Fine Arts. Outside the FA Bldg. on Friday afternoon you can likely hear the drum corps practicing for Saturday's game. You can also take advantage of photo ops with one of the wildcat statues, one in the Student Center atrium, and one outside across Ave. of Champions from the Coliseum.

Thanks guys for all the info, stuff has been really hectic so I didn't get to plan her visit as I should. I did get game tickets to surprise her with and told her too bundleup,so Saturday Night 🌙 I be making my first SEC game. Place should be rocking I hope. Bringing my 17 year daughter 2 a UK game priceless!!

I forgot to mention DoubleH BBQ on Versailles Rd. It's a little late to go there for lunch today, but I have seen Coach Marrow in there at least 2x eating lunch. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is delicious!

Now your talking as if grown-ups were going to take a trip to Lexington. He's taking a kid to do a campus tour so He might be more inclined to go to some of the eateries frequented by students. So at least one meal at Tolly-Ho is required.
