They just reported on ESPN that he contacted the Knicks to tell them he wanted the president job but they are not interested in Cal AT THIS TIME.

I tracked down his sources.....

That would be extremely stupid to take post draft and with this roster. I figure time is ticking before he does this but just gotta get one more title out of him before everything changes.

No idea if true. Maybe it is. I won't be blindsided when the day comes but he has had way better offers than this. That organization is a dumpster fire.

Agreed. There's probably way better opportunities. And we might just see what those are in three years. Sure hope not though!

Honestly, if he left, who the hell would we hire that could even come close to what he's done? Sean Miller is a huge step down but he's better than all of the other college options that I can think of. Who the hell would even be considered?
It won't be Rick Barnes, who reportedly just took his name out of consideration.

He's going to leave at some point. I don't know if this is the time or not (probably not), but its coming.

I'd hope we could just be happy that he gave us so much success while here and embrace moving in a new direction - even considering the rebuild we'd be in for.

Not sure why this is so hard for some to believe. The guy works pretty darn hard, for a pretty demanding fanbase. It's not outside the realm of possibility to think he may like a less stressful job.

Two words.....

Brad Calipari

Also, he really loves his job right now as being a dream fulfiller. I doubt there is much merit to this.

Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari reportedly reached out to the New York Knicks "through intermediaries" to express interest in the team's vacant president of basketball operations position, ESPN.com's Ian Begley reported Thursday.

Citing league sources, Begley reported the Knicksaren't interested in hiring Calipari "at the moment."

The Knicks recently initiated a search for the new face of their front office after parting ways with Phil Jackson on Wednesday.

Say it's not so Coach Cal !!!

He did take a shot at the Knicks for not drafting Monk, so maybe this is their shot back.
