Michigan is a gorgeous state. The Great Lakes is my jam. I've spent a decent amount of time up there and love it. But, I'm also the type of person that does well in cold weather. While not Michigan, I love going up to the Indiana Dunes as well.

Of course you do well in the cold, you're from Indiana. Lol, my uncle moved up to purdue's campus to live with his half sister who moved up there back in the 90s. And man he's still not used to the cold. We're from Southern KY. No way in hell I could do a midwest winter.

Well, central Indy certainly ain't Michigan kinda cold. I'm a little SW of Indy. To me, anything north of southern Michigan isn't Midwest. Same for upper Minn and Sconsin.
Great lakes I'd call it. Different breed than the midwest.
A friend of mine got relocated from Louisville to Grand Rapids.
I think he and his family can afford to make the most of it.
But aside from that, no, people are fleeing that state.
At this point I would sacrifice next year for a new beginning.
Michigan isn't that stupid to want a washed up coach like Cal, they're to many good coaches out there. Same crap last year about Texas wanting him. Nobody wants Calipari Period!

What have the last 4 recruiting classes he has brought in done for us? Not knocking your post.
He has a "lifetime" contract, what does he want to be paid after he's dead now? A lucrative deal for his children and grandchildren as coaches in waiting? I mean how much better can Mitch make it?
I think the question should be what has he done for his recruiting classes? They came here to get coaching and they didn't get much of anything.
P5 program w good but not blueblood basketball history. They’ll welcome the return of “Fab 5” type recruiting classes for half a decade until Cal retires. It’ll make them a cool school again. Also in the part of the country that is “Cal’s ppl” instead of ppl he thinks are below him and ignorant.
It won't be to Oakland, Michigan though. They already have a better coach.
