Butler out

From TOS:
Matt Jones:
“There are some good rumblings about Butler coming back for NCAA. I have nothing from anyone that I deem 100% but there are positive rumblings”
Ah the old "I'm hearing such and such but not from anyone I trust" scoop. That is the best kind because you can be right or wrong and have an out.

I’ve gotten on you for pessimism in the past, but I dare say I often find you make a lot more sense than most of the people on this website on some things. Jones has nothing to gain but criticism to lie about that. People find weird things to be upset about
Yeah I can go overboard, I don’t see what Jones gains from not being truthful. If anything lieing would hurt his credibility

It's a win/win really. If he doesn't play and we lose, which sucks, but as long as we don't get destroyed, we still look very good.

but if we win…… .oh snap

We should be able to beat a 14 seed without him. Should key word. We would want him back for a 6 or 11 though.

Doesn't seem like the 11s are gonna be mid majors either. So gonna have some dudes.
Well, we thought we could beat a 14 seed without a real coach last year and that backfired.
We have the coaching issue solved, so that’s cool, but it would be awesome to have our full compliment of available guys, so we don't suffer the same fate again.

Honestly I would take it. Love to win the sec but it's not probable. This year the sec is stacked. Just don't want any injuries against bama tonight.
Winning the SECT this year would be the stuff of legends. Would be very hard.

Just don’t get embarrassed tonight is all I ask. Or have a chance to win it and do something stupid.

We aren't relying on freshmen as much this season. That helps. I just don't see a Pope coached team losing to a 14 seed with the players he still has. I would love to have butler for the game but we will see.

Agree. I think when you get down to your 4th ball-handler - even though I like what Chandler has been bringing defensively in the PG spot - you can't be chalking up a win against any team that makes into the field of 68. But like you, I believe UK will likely (but far from given) get by that first game. After that, however, anybody who doesn't really appreciate a further win given UK's injury decimation because of either the seed (earned for their complete body of work, many impressive wins early and relatively healthy) or because of some nonsense platitude like "we're Kentucky" must be an extremely casual (or clueless) basketball fan.

I’m taking it as he will be good to go by the ncaa first game or latest the round of 32
I hope you are correct. I certainly hope that Pope's next team will not be a bubble wrap team. Every time I get really excited about this team there is a bubble wrap failure that results in an injury to a key player.

Even If i knew he was out for the season at this point, you bet your ass i’d be telling everyone i spoke with that it looks promising for his return. Any UK fan would.

No, that would be idiotic. If pope got bad news, the play would be to stay tightlipped. Just don’t say anything definitive

Not sure why it shows no reporting required? Maybe due to the fact that we played today already, considering our game went into the wee hours of the morning.
It may just be for the conference schedule. I haven’t seen any clarification of the rule either way.
