I hope we can find a way to win lots of games without Butler, but it hard, maybe impossible to go far without a point guard in March. We're playing with house money now.. I'll love this team and what Pope has done this season regardless of the outcome.

I’m still holding out hope that Butler will return. We would miss his defense, ball security, and ability to penetrate. But we’re fortunate to have weeks of experience playing with him out of the lineup.
Agreed. Hard to remember any team ever that has played with the injuries we have had and made it as far. Very very happy with these guys. A win or 2 in the NCAA tourney is icing on the cake.

Exactly! With a healthy Butler, Robinson and even Kriisa, I believe this team is a Top 5 team or very close to that.
A sweet sixteen in our shape would be an epic win for the coach and the team. Plenty of rosters loaded with NBA talent have fallen short of that goal more than once.
1 game in the NCAA and this season was an improvement over last year. Two games and we are in the sweet 16. It's possible to do that without Butler imo.
Agreed. I still think Sweet16 is a real possibility. Maybe Elite 8 if the match-up works out.

I’ll add, obviously we’ve had terrible postseason performances. But we did beat Providence on March 17th 2023
This team showed early that they were a contender. It makes me sick to my stomach that they have had to go through this BS. Pope's coaching job this year should be one that is talked about forever.
When the tourney starts everything is in play....upsets, matches, momentum, emotion....there are really too many things involved to count more than the game you're in right now. Living in the present you bet.
It's been awhile since we've sniffed Sweet 16. Under the circumstances, that would be a fantastic accomplishment this year.
This team can hang with about anybody. They have been through so much. I think we will be too big and athletic for whoever our 14 seed is and the 6/11 seed won’t have much time to prepare for our style of play, so as long as we don’t face a SEC team that early, we will have an advantage.
If we can get to a Sweet Sixteen, we will give the 2 seed all they can handle. The way things are looking, we probably get St. John’s or Texas Tech as our 2 seed. Both will be tough. I’d bet on St. John’s because of ratings. They would love to see a Pope vs. Pitino matchup in the Sweet Sixteen.

We won a tournament game two seasons ago. I think you’re referring to second weekend. I’d love to go to a Sweet 16, but if we don’t have Butler I’ll be thankful for whatever we can win tbh
I consider this season a smashing success even if last night was the last win we’ll get. What we’ve accomplished exceeds everyone’s pre-season expectations of this “thrown together in just one summer” roster. ESPECIALLY when you factor in the crazy bad injury luck.

My thinking is the same. Want to win with every fiber in my being but it may be too much disaster to overcome. Every win from now on is gravy other than round one of NCAAT. Gotta win that one
If this team had been fully healthy all season .... NO ONE would want to see us in their bracket.
Unfortunately I think teams saw how we couldn't handle a press with our top 3 point guards out, and they will turn up the pressure.
