I do believe - JMO - that JB was probably surprised that 7 guys left UK, and that UK did not get Newman or Ingram. Don't think he wanted to play with either of them. I think he probably had considered UK out of it because he expected Lyles and/or Booker to come back, and when they didn't he had to take another look at UK because there is an obvious spot for him now. So I would give him plenty of time here, as Cal seems to have done. He is essentially starting his recruitment all over again.
Also if it is true he grew up a UNC fan he may be waiting for the NCAA show to drop there before ruling them out - or in. I would not count them out at all, even if Michigan blew it with him.
Who's the coach? I just looked through all his follows and there were no coaches I saw. He does follow Julius Randle and Skal though...along with many other top players from other schools/NBA.

I went to school about 45 miles north of GR. I'm from the U.P. (the northern half of Michigan that no one knows exists) and GR is to the U.P. what Texas is to Kentucky, weatherwise. Terrible.
FWIW, Cal has always been the only coach Brown followed. The only Michigan person he followed was Austin Hatch and still does.

All the texts sent in the shadow of night from anonymous sources, insiders that were once confident in Michigan getting Brown now wavering, odd twitter behavior from Michigan assistants, UK fans slowly but surely getting their hopes up... and yet the fact that it's no longer the awful month of April is the only reason I have any real confidence at all.
Thank you for the info. Wow, UK could be very VERY good with a slasher/scorer like Brown on the wing. You can't tell me a team with the #1 PG, #1 SF and #1 overall C isn't the favorite to win it all. And that's not even counting Poy, Lee, and Ulis!
Which means Jaylen Brown is a huge UK fan.
Hopefully the rumors and momentum wind up being true. It does seem that this year when it got close to a player's decision there was usually a lot of buzz or rumors of him going to a certain school. Just hoping this holds true in this case as well. I am hesitantly optimistic about this one. Time will tell.
No doubt--with Walton, Levert back and healthy, and experienced gained by Dawkins and Abdur Rahkman, Chatman, Irvin, Doyle, and the space 4 man from Germany Mortiz Wagner. Throw in Spike Albrecht and this is going to be a top 3 team in Big 10 with Michigan St and Maryland (no I am not buying IU hype although Thomas Bryant will help them)
I know it'll be of little consolation to you if Brown does indeed end up picking UK in the end, but as much as missing out on Brown would bum me out, I'd much rather see you guys land him or any other elite recruits over the likes of Kansas (I know he already cut him) or UNC. I'm sure my opinion would change if I checked your boards, seeing as everyone talks trash, especially if you're successful, but I've never actively disliked Michigan. Pulled for you guys in the 2013 tourney and would have pulled for you the rest of the way in 2014 had you beat us.
It should be a no-brainer on Brown's part.

Now I await with bated breath for a new rumor to leak out, crushing what little new found optimism we've just re-gained just as the momentum seemed to shift back in Michigan's favor last night once we were stating to feel confident. This board desperately needs Brown. It's been in total meltdown mode post-Final Four.
One new pick today, another guy flipped from Michigan back to Kentucky. We had gotten it as close as 53-35 yesterday.
I suppose you guys are assuming UNC ( Brown's dream school via his own words) is out because of the academic "scandal"?
