2. This morning, Matt Jones states he received a text message from an ATL number saying UK leads for Brown.
3. Sam Webb (Michigan's #1 recruiting insider) confirms the text was legit and says he does not feel confident about Brown anymore.
4. Bacari Alexander deletes the tweet from yesterday and is no longer following Jaylen Brown.

Read into that how you want, but I'm about ready to congratulate you guys.

Best news I've heard in a month. Sounds like the tide has indeed turned. Thank you Hail for the update.

Thanks for the update, good luck to you guys.

The same Matt Jones who said we had a legit chance at Brandon Ingram? I'll pass.

The only good info he has is from premium boards.

Ok, I can admit when I am wrong. I accused you of gloating last night, and I can see now I was just pissed at how it looked like it was going. Not that this means Brown is definitely coming or anything, but after stepping back and looking at it the next day, I shouldn't have said that.

I appreciate it but I NEVER want to say anything is a done deal, never. Too many variables.

My source confirmed this somewhat. It seems that Jaylen's spring plan was to wait out as many of the remaining top prospects as he could. Brown did not expect all those guys to spurn KY. Earlier this week Michigan attempted to pull a power move on the Brown camp and have been trying to coerce him into a commitment all week. I'm told things got pretty nasty when Brown refused. My source doesn't have any information where KY stands but it seems that the relationship has soured recently between Brown and Michigan. Still wouldn't count 'em put though.

If Brown isnt coming i could see the unfollow if its not misdirection, but why delete the tweet you mention. Not sure why you would delete that?

If that was the case, then why would he cut Kansas these past couple days over Michigan if it got nasty? Not saying it didn't or couldn't have happened. Just very skeptical with all info now.

A few ?'s

1. Why would Alexander deleting a generic tweet be a big deal? Honestly--he could've kept it up and nobody would read into that.

2. This Matt Jones thing is absurd. Guy was leaking DM's predicting the commitments and he's been proven to be lost in recruiting. If we're going to take the Matt Jones seal of approval--this year you're batting about 10% in recruiting accuracy.

3. I'll take your word for it with regard to Sam Webb. Not feeling confident doesn't mean kid isn't coming.

4. I thought LaVell Jordan was Brown's recruiter? And no longer following Brown means nothing. Hell with reference to Brown, I'd say it means he's even more of a lean to Michigan.

5. If that's case--wouldn't UM push hard for Kenny Williams? I mean he had a visit scheduled for May 18 and canceled and is down to UVA (heavy favorite) over UNC. Michigan was heavy favorite for Williams when he got released from VCU.

6. Be aware that Brown is likely to break commitment via Bleacher Report--he already did his "final list announcement" via them and they set precedent by breaking Iman Marshall (USC football signee) commitment via a 2 min plus video despite fact he was supposed to announce on ESPNU on Signing Day.

As a huge CBB fan and friends with UK fans and enjoy talking hoops with this board, I've got to say I'll believe it when it happens. Too many odd things in this class--but hope for my UK friends it happens. Makes complete sense basketball wise, but as we all know/have repeatedly seen--when does recruiting make sense?

Hope he comes, but let’s wait until the man says he coming.

What would be real nice is to see some type of movement from Michigan on another player to fill that last spot.

which, if this is even remotely true (I'm not buying it), it proves Cal's patience with recruits is a huge reason why he's been so successful his entire life. His reputation is for waiting, being patient, not badgering or pressing kids, letting them take their time... while the other coaches freak out and start pressing for answers. It's happened time and time again. Cal plays the cool hand and wins in the end.

Still not buying the story, but it wouldn't be the first time it' happened.

I promise there is validity to the story. I would not have posted if I didn't have credible information. I know how this board treats those perceived to have inaccurate info. To your point with Cal I agree. Cal has seemed to maintain an air of cool confidence during this process. You hear a lot of stories about theses coaches flying off the handle with these recruits. Its good to see Cal be relatively reserved with his reactions.

Don't have any information regarding Kansas. My opinion is he cut Kansas because of the roster make up/Self's track record of developing elite talent.

I was hopeful it was just more hearsay until Webb said he doesn't have a good feeling on it anymore. Webb is our recruiting Messiah. He just published this piece 2 days ago:
http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sp...-contender-for-dynamic-jaylen-brown/26559985/

Him not having a good feeling anymore is a ballbreaker.

Thanks for the info. I know nothing about this Webb guy but I'll believe you. Where has he said that he's no longer feeling good? Did he put that on twitter or some place that is available to the public?

he always has been. It's like he says and how he tells recruits right after saying "UK isn't for everyone"... he follows it up with "We'll win with ya, and we'll win without ya."

Basically saying "Join the party and have fun.... or don't. It's whatever."

Its the Fonzarelli approach. Works like a charm. I REALLY hope we get Brown.

... He had the #1 and #3 pick in last years draft.

Anyways, hope you're right Hail and he comes here. Glad to see you on here as well.

Yeah, Brown is so upset at Michigan that he cut Kansas. LOL.

Listen, I certainly hope all of this stuff is true and this kid isn't just some pawn to build a brand, but I just feel like there's a ton of misdirection being put out there (either by Brown's people or people associated with a certain company) in UK's favor to make it even more of a stunner when he decides to go elsewhere. Will only believe he's coming here when he says he's coming here.

I've been up and down with this recruitment over the past few days, and I am starting to learn my lesson. Not going to let myself get too hopeful. I just want it to be over. If he goes elsewhere, we are all-in with Murray. Really not much else out there who could really make a differencef for us.
