Picking this coach up earlier this week sure helped with getting Dazia!
Holy hell, 18 PPG? We’re going to have a whole team full of scorers.
Man, he seems to be absolutely crushing it so far.
Coach Brooks is making quite a splash. Looking forward to watching what he does with the women's program.

One of the best (so far) hires of mitches tenure. I 100% expected a ho hum hire but looks like Mitch walked up to the plate and knocked it clear out of the park. Kudos. I haven't often been anticipating women's BB but this year I am.

Seems to be doing impressive work. Seems like every other day we get another commitment and every 3rd day we hire another member of his staff.
Brooks is not going to quit, may as well forget it. Already in on several 4 and 5 stars for the next class. Lawrence solidifies a great chance to get to the final four IMO. Amoore, Obie and Lawrence are very experienced great players. Haslett at the four very experienced and a great rebounder. Not one but two giants to rotate at the five and both are super talented. Almost unbelievable the work done in this short period of time.
pope needs to take notes from Brooks on how to rebuild a roster in an offseason.

Brooks has absolutely reloaded the WBB! It is awesome to see 2 new coaches busting ass and bringing excitement to both of the teams.
Had Cal stayed, women’s basketball would have ruled this upcoming year. Think about that for a second!
Let’s be honest, women’s team will be way better than the men’s team next year.
And defensive beasts! lol. They’re going to be a really good team and will compete for second place in the SEC and make the tournament. Who knows how they’ll do when they get there but I’m really impressed with Brooks and the way his ladies play their hearts out for him. I actually like watching Kentucky Women’s basketball when they are good. lol. I just can’t stand watching basketball where kids can’t even hit wide open layups! Hopefully those days are over.
I don’t think so.. Pope is a great coach and runs some incredible sets and action. This won’t look anything like Cal’s “Run” offense.. basketball will be beautiful again in the bluegrass!

if he’s such an amazing coach, how has he never won an NCAA tournament game? He’s lost to a higher seeded team each year he’s been in the tournament too. Feel like our fans are vastly overrating him as a coach, maybe the bar was just extremely low with Cal.
Agreed. People are setting themselves up for disappointment. Actually they talk out of both sides of their mouth. They’ll say how great we will be but if you bring up a reason why we won’t they’ll say he’s only been here two weeks or the first year doesn’t matter.
I would have preferred Barnhart hit the homerun on the mens hire and a double with the women instead of how it happened the other way around. Seems the one thing the mens team needs is the thing Brooks is good at finding, scorers.
Maybe he won't be a great coach. But one thing is he had a lot of 2 and 3 star players. Even with that, he was able to overcome some big programs like Kansas and Baylor last year. Gives us hope that with Pope getting a higher level of recruit that his offense and coaching will be better than what we have had the last 15 years. And in addition to that, the assistant coaches Pope has looks like a step up from what we have had.
No way of knowing for sure till we can see with our own eyes this season. But considering Pope recruits with team in mind, has an offense that players want to play in and can reach their potential and has the heart and desire to get Kentucky back to what it is suppose to be, seems like there is hope for the program to get back to normal.

Love how everyone automatically goes to his BYU low rated recruits. He lost to Duquesne in the first round, BYU was a 6 seed they were an 11. BYU certainly had better players than Duquesne!
Brooks is recruiting off the charts, brought in great players from Va Tech and has made a final four. Feel much better about the future of the women’s program than the men’s.
Brooks is doing for the women’s team what cal did for the men’s team his first offseason.
Will be real nice when this board can get over their CDS and realize at Kentucky, we celebrate our history- unless they go 90 miles up the interstate- but some are so deeply afflicted with the CDS they are willing to forgive him to spite Cal.
Now, let’s get CMP to finish this offseason with an unexpected stud and he will have the tools to prove he is worthy of the job and the optimism is warranted. I think he can do it.

Like that roster makeup from a class standpoint. three seniors and four juniors. It's set up to have a lot of veteran leadership next year, but also for future years to come assuming most of them stay. It's how I hope Pope's roster can evolve over the next few years, but it was easier for Brooks to build this sort of roster since women by and large all still play four years.

Should have included Tyler with those three veterans with the way she came on last year. And Rowe as kind of a spark plug off the bench.
It seems as if all of the Kentucky faithful accidentally donated to our women's program instead of the men's! Woops!
It's cause Women can get a $20K NIL deal and be al WOOHOO!. Dudes get that and it's like walkon money. LOL.
