St John’s REALLY needs a PG….Fland is from NYC. Likely stays in the draft though.
You have to be good enough to make sure you get in a situation where you'll get to show them you are worthy of playing or else you'll be learning a Foreign Language to make $ playing ball. He's a guy who is the age of most College incoming FR for '26 when next year starts. Don't rush only to get flushed out. It's all about getting that 2nd contract.
No way in hell most teams would want him if he was a PG-but seems like he was using other schools names to negotiate his position with Pitino. So Ian Jackson positioned himself as a pg? We’re we ever involved?
In other words, BF got "the talk" from Cal.He was 1 and done. Smart to keep options open because we don't have room for him anymore.
If we had 4 guys go in the draft this year that would be a big boon for the program. I could see Williams, Brea and Robinson going but Carr seems optimistic to me.Consensus Mock - NBADraft.net

Has Boogie going #17 if he stays 1 more year he could be a lottery pick. Might be a smart move to stay in college.
True but he looks like mid pack first round should be worth a guaranteed contract. For fizzing out you never can tell. You have to be good enough to make sure you get in a situation where you'll get to show them you are worthy of playing or else you'll be learning a Foreign Language to make $ playing ball. Could be or not be true. The way things are going these days I can't rule anything out it's just dog eat dog.In other words, BF got "the talk" from Cal.
You ain't coming back.
Speaking of other team fans, where did @Nooneputsbabyinacorner and @KneeBurns disappear to?
This is Cal's MO.Could be or not be true.
He will definitely be a pro 3-4 years. That is what I’d say his floor is, his ceiling would be solid starter for 10 years.Rushing to the NBA does decrease the amount of time until you’re eligible for a 2nd contract. There’s real value to that.
But for some players, rushing can also decrease the likelihood of actually securing a lucrative 2nd contract, if you even secure one at all.
So it’s not necessarily wise to think of quickly getting to the NBA as a no brainer decision, if you are a player that legitimately has that 2nd contract as an attainable goal.
In terms of Fland specifically, I’ve not watched enough of him to have an opinion on whether he should stay or go. Hopefully he’s getting sound advice and makes a good decision.
Speaking of Kansas who all have they got this year. Been kinda quiet outside Peterson.Where all Kansas folks go when devastation strikes, Oz.
If Acuff and Thomas are bricklayers it will be a long year. Each one is talented enough along with Richmond and Knox to be a good team, but they may struggle to score as we all know Cal teams tend to do.Somehow, Cal has convinced that fanbase that you don’t need a full roster. Arkansas will be a very poor shooting, Freshman talented team that will struggle with any lost game injuries.
They’ve lost their 2 best players and the 3rd best player is in the draft process.
I expect Cal to flame out next season.
I don't like Cal any more than you but I think we have 10 right now as I expect Knox to return and can see getting one more player. This is Cal's MO.
I know, I know.....you have the new and improved Cal, not that old UK Cal.
When Cal recruits 5 stars to play for him, his selling point is I will get you to the NBA in year one, not you have to come and fight for a spot with another 5 star with a year's experience.
DJ Wagner would have already been shown the door if not for his family connection with Cal and "promises made" to take care of DJ.
Cal doesn't like competition on the roster. He can't manage more than 7 players in the rotation, 8 at the very most. That is a problem he has sworn he will never have again after 2015..
Heard Arky was using Flands NIL for PJ Haggerty per Memphis radio. Either way it will be a busy backcourt for Cal.Tyson will offer him more chicken to stay.
Looks like the lyrics the Crash Test Dummies hit song "mmmm mmmm mmm"I’m just trying to figure out what his tattoo says
Having 10 and playing 10 in rotation are 2 entirely different things.I don't like Cal any more than you but I think we have 10 right now as I expect Knox to return and can see getting one more player.
It should be the players' choice if they should go for it. It shouldn't be because DJ needs starter minutes at the point and Fland's unwillingness to play the 2 guard because it isn't his natural position. Cal is all in on DJ.Could be or not be true. The way things are going these days I can't rule anything out it's just dog eat dog.
If your projected first round pick you pretty much got to go for it.
I would love taking Fland. I am sure it would upset Cal.Ok if Oweh goes pro would yall accept Boogie? That’s a sacred name around here lol.
I would to In a heart beat.I would love taking Fland. I am sure it would upset Cal.
They'll need more than that---Haggerty wants $4-5M and promised a starting PG spot. That isn't happening. So whomever was selling that is misinformed. It'll be the Acuff show next year in Fayetteville. If it's Chris Vernon, I'd rather he do another Masters update. Those are epic.Heard Arky was using Flands NIL for PJ Haggerty per Memphis radio. Either way it will be a busy backcourt for Cal.
He and Jackson would form a lethal backcourt for St John's if that's where he ended up. Isn't he from NYC?Bama will be involved here. St. John's stupidity of promising PG spot to Ian Jackson....he'd have been perfect there. He should return to CBB due to his age-he's very young and has no reason to rush the process.
I’ll accept anyone who puts on the Kentucky jersey into our family. I don’t see a scenario where Oweh goes pro and Fland doesn’t.Ok if Oweh goes pro would yall accept Boogie? That’s a sacred name around here lol.
Exactly, if you have a solid shot to get to the NBA, you go, you don't mess around and pass up the chance, you may not get another chance.smart decision by Fland’s agent.
but I disagree, if you can get drafted into the NBA within the first 40-45 picks, you go to the league, IMO. College ball feels unsettled at best right now. This looks like a strong draft class and that’s a good thing for an Oweh return.
He's just covering his bases at this point. If something does happen with the NBA Draft, he will have something to fall back on. It's a smart move that would give him plenty of options if he was to return.I've seen mock drafts that have him as a first-round pick but I think he could use another year of college ball. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
I think he was Reed Shepperd’s roommate at Arkansas.Who the hell is boogie fland never heard of him 🤔
Bingo . The second contract talk really should be for guys that are lottery picks .You have to be good enough to make sure you get in a situation where you'll get to show them you are worthy of playing or else you'll be learning a Foreign Language to make $ playing ball. He's a guy who is the age of most College incoming FR for '26 when next year starts. Don't rush only to get flushed out.
How many teams are playing 10 guys consistently? That’s pretty rare. With that said though I’d like to add 1-2 more just in case of injury like we saw last year. Ideally a knockdown shooter and a backup to Brazile and the roster would be pretty set.Having 10 and playing 10 in rotation are 2 entirely different things.
Just wait until Hog fans who know basketball question anything Cal does......the Honeymoon will come to an abrupt end.
If you don't like this version of Cal, you are going to HATE the real John Vincent Calipari...
If we get Amari, Carr, Jr and Brea in the draft that will be awesome. If that draft is right , Dame Sarr is not going to nba.🎱🏀🔐9️⃣If we had 4 guys go in the draft this year that would be a big boon for the program. I could see Williams, Brea and Robinson going but Carr seems optimistic to me.
Florida. Next question. How many teams are playing 10 guys consistently? That’s pretty rare. With that said though I’d like to add 1-2 more just in case of injury like we saw last year. Ideally a knockdown shooter and a backup to Brazile and the roster would be pretty set.
Haha we will be using two freshmen next year. Both top ten in a loaded class. This aint your grandpappies Cal.Somehow, Cal has convinced that fanbase that you don’t need a full roster. Arkansas will be a very poor shooting, Freshman talented team that will struggle with any lost game injuries.
They’ve lost their 2 best players and the 3rd best player is in the draft process.

Cal had multiple recruiting classes ranked ahead of what you have. He’s just sold your fanbase on these Freshmen. Haven’t they got the news down in Arkansas that you need upperclassmen to win in this game now?Haha we will be using two freshmen next year. Both top ten in a loaded class. This aint your grandpappies Cal.
Optimistic is more than one of those guys getting drafted. Brea is the only one that is consistently getting mentioned, and he's a late (50-60) second rounder. I'd say there's zero chance four get drafted, slightly more than zero three get drafted, and maybe 25ish percent two get picked. I'd say there's more of chance no players get drafted than more than one getting drafted. Really pretty special what the team accomplished given the talent level and injuries. If we had 4 guys go in the draft this year that would be a big boon for the program. I could see Williams, Brea and Robinson going but Carr seems optimistic to me.
Pope did a very masterful job of coaching and to be honest we haven't seen a coaching job like he did since Pitino! Tubby was a good bench coach and got really good results out of 2 star and 3 star players but I still feel the early years of Pitino all the way through his tenure is the best comparison for Pope this past year.Optimistic is more than one of those guys getting drafted. I know because going 38-0 was so terrible! Without his bad coaching that team should have went 40-0! UghhhhhhThis is Cal's MO.
I know, I know.....you have the new and improved Cal, not that old UK Cal.

I think he forced too much early in the year when they were looking horrible. They became good when DJ took point and that let Davis be the play maker off ball. Fland is very good but he forces stuff like freshman do. He would be a killer sophomore and destroy in our offense because he can shoot if he would pass the ball a little more.13pts, 5 ass, 1.5 TO (this part was pretty solid actually) but 38%FG and 34%3pt....a predictably below par Fr season...and now he's gone. So, as usual with Cal, what is the point in doing this and playing heavy minutes? He just rinse and repeats this game constantly.
Now getting Fland for year 2 and 3....I'd take a risk for him to be average/to above average....but to depend on him year 1...is sort of dumb.
