I think this makes sense, something about this situation doesn't ring true. Call it conspiracy theory if you will but the lack of definitive answers and real information doesn't add up. All we have is speculation and someone's best guess as to where things stand. To me, it feels like there is something going on that is keeping Z from qualifying and maybe UK is not releasing those details, perhaps to keep from embarrassing the kid.
I really want to believe the UK admissions staff wouldn't pull a stunt like this just to swell up on Calipari.
I've had this same thought myself, that this would be one way of making Calipari leave. But to use & screw over Zvonimir Ivisic in order to get Calipari to leave, is pretty rotten. This situation almost appears as an opportunity to piss Cal off enough to make him look for another job. I know that is most likely not true, but why in the world has the kid not been admitted yet.
It seems that he didn't pass the UK admissions process that was presented to him, and UK is choosing to not make this public out of respect for Z.I think this makes sense, something about this situation doesn't ring true. Yeah, I think this situation is way too public for the administration department to punish a kid, just to send a message to Cal. That would be an incredibly bad move.I think this makes sense, something about this situation doesn't ring true. Even the biggest Cal detractor here on the message board wouldn't do that if he/she could, so the administration would give no thought whatsoever in that direction.Yeah, I think this situation is way too public for the administration department to punish a kid, just to send a message to Cal. I would love nothing more than to see Cal walk away and take his culture with him, but there would be no way I would deny eligibility to a player, just to accomplish that, it wouldn't even cross my mind.Even the biggest Cal detractor here on the message board wouldn't do that if he/she could, so the administration would give no thought whatsoever in that direction.
So are you claiming the title?😁I would love nothing more than to see Cal walk away and take his culture with him, but there would be no way I would deny eligibility to a player, just to accomplish that, it wouldn't even cross my mind.
Something else is going on.
But how much of a punishment is it to the kid. If the rumors are true that other schools are ready to snag him up. All he truly wants is a shot at the NBA, and believe UK was the best way to get there. In the end, he’ll be fine either way.I've had this same thought myself, that this would be one way of making Calipari leave. I'm curious as to what minor things are happening behind the scenes. What are some examples that back up you post? Not attacking, just curious.A couple of things here. First, many in the Admissions department hate athletics, all athletics. They are liberal elites that want a public means to make a statement. The impact on this is bigger than Z. This will inhibit our ability to recruit foreign players, inhibit our ability to get future coaches (who wants to take a job to fight Admissions to get recruits), and behind the scenes minor things have been happening for a while. This is just the first really visible situation. Lastly, Z failed the test due to a handicap. Obviously, UK has NO problem discriminating against people with learning disabilities. And yes, Capaluto could put an end to this today….
GladlySo are you claiming the title?😁
I would think that would be an easy, and publicly ok, thing to say in their initial statement. With UK silent on the situation, the holdup might be in "Z" being able to obtain a student VISA. The process is that he can only apply for the VISA after he is accepted to a school. When his admittance to the school was the holdup, we were hearing quite a bit of info but it has gone silent...
How long can it take to get student visa in USA?
Application processing time could vary between 3 day to a few weeks depending on volume. If the embassy finds issues with your application, the processing time may stretch up to a few months.
The worst part about it? UK isn’t even remotely “elite” when it comes to academics. When I went to graduate school on the GI bill it wasn’t even on my list of possible destinations.A couple of things here. First, many in the Admissions department hate athletics, all athletics. Just do your MCIs, devil. The worst part about it? UK isn’t even remotely “elite” when it comes to academics. When I went to graduate school on the GI bill it wasn’t even on my list of possible destinations.
It probably isn't. It could be as simple as someone is being extremely black and white about a rule. Which normally I'm ok with, but I'm also not a cultist. I'm not naive enough to believe there are no grey areas. People need grace and sometimes deserve to have faith rewarded. To me, it feels like there is something going on that is keeping Z from qualifying and maybe UK is not releasing those details, perhaps to keep from embarrassing the kid.

I'd imagine if he had passed the stupid section of the exam we heard about, we'd know. If he goes to another school, we will know it isn't a VISA issue. With UK silent on the situation, the holdup might be in "Z" being able to obtain a student VISA. Not a peep. I'm surprised Mitch hasn't said a word. We know that relationship between Cal and Mitch is rocky though. But still you think he'd put the program first and go to bat for this kid. And he may have, but we sure haven't heard hide nor hair of it.Has the athletics department made any comments up to this point?
It isn't per se. But using a kid as a tool by people in education is pretty damn rotten. But how much of a punishment is it to the kid. If the rumors are true that other schools are ready to snag him up. All he truly wants is a shot at the NBA, and believe UK was the best way to get there. In the end, he’ll be fine either way.
That’s how I got my bachelors lolJust do your MCIs, devil.
I think you're right, but in this case, I really think there is an issue that we aren't being told about. It probably isn't. Could be if Cal is trying to keep good will; Cal, for all his faults, doesn't usually throw someone under bus publiclyI think you're right, but in this case, I really think there is an issue that we aren't being told about.
This has been made into a huge issue, too big of an issue for one person to continue holding this up.
I would be stunned if Capaluto hasn’t visited the admittance department yet. Assuming he has, nothing has come of it, which means the issue can't just be waived through.
Also, Cal has been very quiet about this, that wouldn't be the case if it was just some twerp in admissions being an asshat.
Cal brought media members into his Bahamas hotel room last summer, ripped Mitch for not getting what he wanted and he hit Stoops with shrapnel in the process, so Cal has shown he will not hesitate to publicly call people out when he feels wronged.Could be if Cal is trying to keep good will; Cal, for all his faults, doesn't usually throw someone under bus publicly
Also, if the issue were much bigger than a waiver, that would've leaked somehow in today's world.
Mitch, Cal and anyone else who has real info about this is as quiet as they can be. That speaks volumes in and of itself.Cal brought media members into his Bahamas hotel room last summer, ripped Mitch for not getting what he wanted and he hit Stoops with shrapnel in the process, so Cal has shown he will not hesitate to publicly call people out when he feels wronged.
I hated what Cal did last summer, he looked like a spoiled brat that didn’t get his way. But I would have zero issue if he called out whoever is holding this up, if in fact that is what's happening. There is a right time and a wrong time to put someone on blast, this is one of those times where it is right, as long as it's not some legit issue with Z.

UK football was never much of anything, so to me, it's not as big a deal when the fb program underperforms.I said usually. lol.
That was bizarre behavior even for Cal, so, I'm not sure what the heck was going on there. What's even worse, is the football coaches ran their mouths (which I get), but then proceed to have a crap year themselves. Like, come on.
If there is some legit issue with Z, it needs to come out factually and respectfully. Otherwise, nothing will be said, and he will end up at another school and we will all be like, 'WTH UK?!"
BBN is just tired of the BS from all sides, that includes Cal, Mitch, Stoops, etc. Just put out a good product (which neither FB or BB has really done in the past year), represent the university with class, be good to fans, and get some wins. Between Cal, Stoops, and Mitch they make nearly 20 million (Cal- 9M, Stoops- 8.5M, Mitch- 1.5M)
And yet we constantly get run arounds, lack luster performances, drama etc. Just tired of it.
i guess you missed how loaded our team is with talentIn the end it’s all Cal’s fault. He had a terrible summer. We lucked into Tre Mitchell. He struck out on transfer after transfer and tried a last second move to land Z which seems to have failed.
Jack Pilgrim threw in something today on KSR that caught my attention. He said, "He has submitted 2 different tests, both with different results. One of them he passed but it was red flagged for a reason we don't need to get into. The other was considered a fail."I think you're right, but in this case, I really think there is an issue that we aren't being told about.
