Cancer advanced to stage 4. Planning bucket list trip to Rupp for NYE game (vs Brown).

I’ll be up at that game. Let us know your plans. I would love to buy you a bourbon!
We will be in town in the early afternoon on the 30th and leave on the 1st. Outside of the game and finding somewhere to watch Monday night football on the 30th we haven't made any plans yet. Probably be around the area our hotel is (Springhill suites) with the mall and everything close by. Unless we can arrange a distillery tour but with new years it's probably tough.

My email is ripamaru96@gmail.com if you want to set something up.

So I've never actually been to Rupp. I've been to a lot of road games and a couple tournaments in Nashville but I never made it up there. Spent most of my life out of state.

I have been battling colorectal cancer since 2018. Was in remission for a couple years before it came back in my lungs. I recently got the unfortunate news that it has advanced further. A mass in my liver also. It's early enough that it's not damaging the organs yet. Doc estimated I likely have 2 to 2.5 years. Going to fight for the cure but we are talking roughly 5% chance.

My brother is helping plan a trip for the Brown game on New Year's Eve. I would love to meet some of you guys. Would like recommendations for stuff like where to celebrate new Year's, to watch my 49ers on MNF on the 30th, pregame festivities, etc.

We will be staying at the Springhill Suites Lexington Fritz Farm. After securing tickets and hotel rooms we will be on a bit of a shoestring budget. Any kind of tips etc for saving money would be greatly appreciated. Getting from the hotel to Rupp and back for example.

We will be arriving in Lexington on the 30th and staying 2 nights. My brother and his GF are bourbon lovers so I would like to do something with that on the trip for them if I can. They are using their vacation time and scraping together most of the funds to make this dream happen for myself and our boys so I'd like to do something small for them.

Like I said I'd love to meet some of you guys (and gals) finally so anyone willing and able feel free to DM me or reply here.

Go Big Blue!
My BBN brother my prayers are with you and I hope you have a fantastic time on your visit to Rupp

M D Anderson Center in Houston is at the forefront of cancer treatment…get your doctor to refer you there. God is faithful and a great Comfort during your trials. Seek Him daily and lean into His love for you. Praying healing and peace over you<><…

I just got off the phone with them. They are gonna have the colorectal team get back to me before the end of the week. It would mean having to get to Houston and Lord knows what all but whatever it takes we will cross bridges as they come. I'm not gonna give up on my boys or my wife.

Hey man I’m sorry to hear that. Fight the good fight. Look into the cancer center in Texas. I can’t remember the exact name right now, if I find it I will let you know. My best friends dad had lung cancer and he had maybe 6 months to live, he went down there and got some experimental work and they stretched his life out an additional 5 years. Praying for you and your family.
Gret cancer center in Texas is most likely M D Anderson in Houston, TX. World famous cancer center. Rotary House Hotel is attached to Hospital and is an incredible place to stay while being at M D Anderson.

I have been talking to them for the last hour. They are getting my medical records so we can get the ball rolling.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendation. My oncologist basically just put me on the bog standard chemo treatment and told me I'm gonna die in 2-2.5 years. Didn't seem interested in looking for new treatment options, trials, or anything else. I'm not accepting that. If I'm going out it's gonna be after fighting in every way possible.

For anyone interested im uploading the results from the PET scan and biopsy done recently.

Cancer can eat a bag of crap!!! Took my brother at 43. He battled for 14yrs, but there was no treatment for his (usual "fix" is limb amputation, but his was in his chest) and it eventually spread and became too much.

A prayer to you (and your family and friends) that you will be able to keep up the fight and kick it's butt!!!! It needs to be kicked!!!

Thank you so much.

We got the hotels reserved last night. We are waiting on his paycheck to get tickets. The sites I've checked have them starting at like $50 each before all the fees. Plan has been to get the best view we can out of the cheaper seats. You are the 2nd person to offer tickets and it's so incredibly touching.

There are 4 of us planning on going (Myself, my brother, and my 2 boys. We are looking at probably $300 at the lowest. Which leaves very little for food or anything else. Would be a huge blessing. We are perfectly fine each taking one boy and sitting in separate sections if that means having money to really enjoy the trip instead of worrying about every little thing.
Tickets have been transferred through Ticketmaster to the email address you posted above. Needed a name too, so I borrowed that from your pathology report if you do not mind. Love our seats and hope you do as well. Sorry it is just two tickets. If you want to resale them to help fund 4 together it would not hurt my feelings one bit. Have a great experience, get the Cats a W, keep up the faith, and GO CATS!

Be sure to bump this thread after your visit letting us all know how awesome it was!

Btw, I accept no responsibility if you get caught on "Snackwards Cam". LOL

F*ck Cancer!

That's amazing brother. Thank you so very much. We booked the hotels last night but have been waiting for my brother's pay day to secure tickets.

My email is ripamaru96@gmail.com

It seems they have disabled the ability to send DMs here for non members. I stopped being able to afford that long ago unfortunately. Email probably the best bet.
Email is good as they're mobile tickets I can transfer through email. There are just two tickets, would that still work for you?? They are upper level but just one row above KFund level and have a great view of the game from the side. We love them. Let me know if they will work for you or not.

That will absolutely help and we thank you dearly. We can each take one kiddo and enjoy the game. Once again thank you so much.

Thank you so much. From the bottom of our hearts. We will see if we can get together somehow or I can take my youngest and my brother can sit with our 12 year old. He loves time with his uncle and rarely gets it.

God bless you.

Just transferred two tickets to your email provided. Used your name from your report (best I could make out of it anyway) so you should have them by now. Let me know that you got them and accepted them though I should get a confirmation of your acceptance from Ticketmaster too. Have a great evening with your entire family group. Oh, you asked about bourbon ideas for your brother. Go to Buffalo Trace in Frankfort (easy drive from Lexington) and take their free distillery tour. It's excellent, you get some tasting along with a great tour and just get tickets as you head into their visitor center.

Was going to post Anderson and a prayer for Ripamaru.....but you said it all in a beautiful way so I thought I would just quote what you said.

So sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but our fellow posters on this thread have given you great advice.

MD Anderson is definitely where you want to put your medical confidence. I know of several people who were told by their local doctors to go home and die, who have stayed alive for years and even decades through MDA.

Ultimately, it is all in God's hands. You will not leave this Earth on second sooner than what He has planned.

I send my prayers for you as well and will be fully believing for a miracle in your life!

Sorry to hear this brother. I hope you are in that 5% but I'm gonna pray for you and that the Cats bring you a championship. Cancer sucks all around, keep family close and appreciate every day man. I know I have taken alot of things for granted over the years. Wish I could do it over but live and learn.

I am so sorry brother, truly. Watched it take my mom in 2017. Prayers to you and your family.

I got them and thank you again so very much. Spent the last few hours with a bad migraine that's finally easing off. I'm gonna check out Buffalo Trace.

So sorry to here about your cancer. You are in my prayers my BBN friend. Anyone that has asked Jesus to be their personal savior, The Lord will heal them. If not in this world then when you walk through the Pearly Gates. God bless you my friend.

If I don’t take off work that night, message me. I can give y’all a ride to rupp and back to the hotel if you want. It’ll save you money for parking or an uber. I’m an LEO in Lex so no stranger danger. If you have any questions or need anything else, let me know and I will see what I can do for you.
Thank you brother. I'll gladly take you up on that. Uber surge pricing is insane so we have been looking at bus routes.

Prayers OP.

Just FYI, I am a four year survivor of brain cancer. Was given a very grim prognosis and had to search nationally for a doctor who was confident in treating my condition. There is always hope as long as you keep fighting.

So sorry to hear, brother. Will be praying for you. Our first parents really messed things up when they rebelled against God and chose a world of sin and death over what He had planned. It’s such a blessing that God is such a God of love and has done more than we could really understand, both Father and Son, to make a free way back to Him so He can heal every hurt and dry every tear.
