our 2 players attacked someone, if the rumors are indeed true.

and if the story going around is even close to the truth, Barker & Baker would be packing up their dorms tonight if I were Stoops
would you like some cheese with that whine?

gimme a break....Football players are aggressive people. They got in a fight. Oh boo hoo.....Nice of you to preach from your lofty perch of do-no-wrong. It's easy to condemn our players from behind a keyboard.

What about the fact both were under age in a bar? Add a fight and possibly fake ID's and its a bad situation.

If there's no police report then it's all rumors at this point.

Rumors that all Lexington TV stations are gonna be reporting on the top of their news in 90 minutes

if one of our guys busted a beer bottle into the face of an EKU player that caused serious injury requiring surgury, said report is gonna be filed sooner rather than later

if

As long as this situation didn't involve any serious injury, rape, drugs or guns I wouldn't worry too much. A few punches thrown between football players is fairly minor in the scheme of things. They are football players and football players do that now and again. Now, if we come to find out it involved any of the serious issues listed above, then send em packin' to TRANSFER U(ofL) down the road. Bobby P. can always find a place for a felon or two on his roster.

The bigger question is why in the hell would they want to go to a bar in Richmond?

This is nothing new on a college campus.

The CJ, wave3, wlky, wdrb, and whas will be all over this story....jurich and co. cannot be happier.

Facts are important. Who struck first, etc.

If true, this is a serious situation. If Baker struck someone with a weapon causing those kinds of injuries; it could well be felony assault.

If it's just a fist fight, this should be strike 1 for that group. The pellet gun incident, to me, was basically a mulligan.

Can someone with access to Lex news provide an update?

Am I going to have to suit up and play backup QB?

I just checked on their website and can't find anything

Just posted on website:

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) – Richmond police are investigating a bar fight that reportedly involved an Eastern Kentucky University football player.

Police say the fight happened Saturday night at
Jerzee’s lounge and dance club on Main Street. Investigators say they
were informed about the fight Monday, and are looking into what
happened.

A family friend of the EKU football player says he received significant injuries.

No arrests have been made. Police have not released any other details about the incident.

Eastern Kentucky University issued a statement Tuesday that said:

“We are currently investigating the report of an
assault on one of our students in an off-campus location that may have
occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. We cannot divulge
the name of the student who may have been involved at this time.”
EKU Football Player Injured At A Richmond Bar

Colton Scurry

Colton Scurry, an EKU football player has been injured in a bar fight.
Many of the details are vague at this time. The owner of Jerzee's, a bar in
Richmond, says the 20-year-old offensive lineman was "roughed up pretty
good."

The incident took place just before 1:00 a.m., Sunday morning inside the bar. The owner says that based on what he saw in the surveillance video, several people were involved.

Josh Breslow
spoke with Alex Carpenter, an EKU student, who said her boyfriend works
at the bar and thinks three UK players were behind the attack.

"My boyfriend's a bouncer there," Carpenter said. "And he just said that it
was 3 UK players who jumped one of our Eastern football players. And
they broke a bottle over his face. They had to take him to the hospital.
He had to get some stitches in his face."

A statement from Eastern Kentucky University is incredibly vague.
It reads, in part: "We are currently investigating the report of an
assault on one of our students in an off-campus location.."

LEX18 will have the latest details as the story develop

I blame you all who started the thread last week waxing nostalgic about going to the bars in Richmond when you were students at UK...

Because the rules change when it's Kentucky. Drugs, guns, armed robbery, and beating a kid almost to death in their own locker room doesn't compare with the high crime of shooting air pistols and bar fights.

They are the definition if hypocrites. I hate those losers

I'm already calling BS. For one, a fight yes. I can see that. However, 3 underage kids are not going to "jump" another underage kid in a public setting. If they said it happened in an alley out back, while rolling cigarettes up into their sleeve, I could see it. Just not in a public setting. I'm sure the EKU kid had his buddies there as well.

Just saw a pic on twitter of the injured EKU football player and it doesn't look good. Not sure how to put pics up here, but I'm sure it will surface soon.

Of course Courier's Sullivan jumping into this.

Tim Sullivan þ@TimSullivan714 Louisville, KY

Dad of #EKU's Colton Scurry says son has, "so much swelling, he couldn't see for the last 2 days. Several fractures in his face and nose."

Not seeing that guy's face looking like that if he got hit with a bottle. Not to be rude but if three guys jump you and that is how you look, I'd say you got off lucky. Let's not burn people at the stake over rumors and one picture.

You are giving underage kids too much credit my friend. 18, 19 and 20 year old intoxicated men are idiots...all of us should know that. Plus, if you are stupid enough to go out to a bar illegally underage, you are probably capable of a lot of stupid things. I'm just speaking in general as this is all hear say right now and not proven that anything specific happened concerning our players.

Bars will let you in if you are 18, they will not serve you alcohol.

Regardless of the specifics involved, Barker sure has shown a lack of leadership skills with his poor choices since arriving on campus.Shooting fake guns and bar fights are not a good sign of things to come imo.

Why are young people so freaking stupid? All three of the UK guys being mentioned have potential NFL careers awaiting them. And UK fans are very much depending on these guys to lead our program out of the dumpster. Yet they do something like this and risk blowing it all? And this makes the second time Barker has apparently exercised poor judgment this season alone. I am very disappointed in these guys. Even if our guys didn't start the fight, they shouldn't have been in a damn bar to start with, being underage and with fairly high profiles.

I don't think anybody would disagree. Stoops has to be furious even if cameras show Barker didn't touch anybody.

Back when I was at UK, the laws in Lexington and Richmond were different. A person had to be 21 to get into a Lexington bar, but a person only had to be 18 to get into a Richmond bar. We used to go out in Richmond for that reason. I'm not sure if the rules are still the same.

It would be prudent to wait until all the details of this incident are in including the UK Players side before we start condemning their conduct. Right now all this speculation is based on an interview with the girlfriend of the bartender who is an EKU fan.

If they want to be brave and do something with all that testosterone...then why don't they roll on down to Knoxville, or Athens, and cause some trouble with those boys...heck roll to "da ville" with your chests puffed out...at least if they knocked some of those boys out then we could see that they can compete...

In all seriousness they need to be rolling to the Nutter Field House and beating on some weights...

IF this is true...IF...then it's time for Stoops to drop the hammer...

this "they are just kids..." nonsense ain't gonna cut the mustard anymore...

I don't want a bunch of kids taking the field against Auburn, UGA, Florida, UT, etc...next year...

If this is all a bunch of hollering about nothing...then great...

Agreed, it is sad that all these UK fans assume it was our players fault because of the bb gun stuff last fall. UK fans should back their players, not throw them under the bus based on rumors.

Dont mean to make light of a serious situation but It looks like colton should have scurried....sorry, coulsnt help myself...hope thingsarent as bad as they seem one the truth comes out.

Doesn't mean they should and doesn't mean "folks" should be calm when they do.

Best case in this instance - very poor judgement from potential future professional athletes. Barker has come in as, practically, the face of UK's football future. His decision making, apparently, has been perplexing since arriving on campus.

I take pride in the kind of people that it appears constitute UK's current basketball team. I'd like to have the same amount of confidence in the future of UK football. I'm certainly not writing the future off or anything yet. But its not looking good at this point.
