Ashton Hagans Snapchat

I cannot believe the numbers of people who enable bad behavior and want the guy back at this point. Reality in this day and age doesn’t matter. Perception does. The perception is that hagans is about hagans and that’s it. If cal allows him back after this or allows him back 100% back to his old role everything it will be a very bad thing. There has to be reprocussions for bad behavior and stupid decisions. Hagans with stacks of cash flaunting it on social media should be the last straw for everyone. We have guys who are serious about playing, doing the right thing and winning. Why even gamble with a guy who is repeatedly doing the wrong thing?
Why is that the perception just because you guys keep saying it? The general public only knows he stepped away from the team for personal reasons that’s the beginning and end of the story for them

One saying is appropriate to address this whole “situation”. “Don’t start none, won’t be none”!

Perhaps it was his girls money? the caption did mention her. Talk like a punk and look like a punk saying shoeboxxx and using slang terms is talking like a punk and looking like a punk is wearing a hoodie? smells like George Zimmerman in here
Who are you? Trayvon?

Hahahahahahahahahaha

But wait—prove it. Oh you proved it. Well it’s just a message board I’m free to act like a moron.

Hahahahahahahab

Everyone is picking on me. I don’t know why? Maybe it’s bc I am a jackass

do the words "I THINK"

mean the same as I know for sure?

lets see if you answer honestly

Idk how old you are what you do for a living or your personal success. Here’s what I’ll tell you from the standpoint of employers and experience. When you’re an adult if some think you are doing the wrong thing it doesn’t matter if really you’re doing the right thing. What matters is what people see. No intelligent person runs around drawing unwanted negative attention. Your reality needs to match everyone else’s perception. I mean this is one of the first things needed to be done in order to have success. Perception is the reality regardless of truth. You don’t judge yourself for your actions others do. How do they judge you? Based on what they see. It’s real simple here.

So based on the Jack Pilgrim tweets. Are the people put off by this still stupid or nah?

Did someone say that it wasn’t stupid for AH to do this in this thread?

If so I don’t agree and said so right from the start. I have no question UK was concerned about him posting the video and I guarantee he was reprimanded.

Does that make it ok for UK fans to immediately start speculating the money came from illegal or illicit means? Drug dealing and boosters and agents, just to make a few?

That’s what I’m upset about. To be completely clear in my viewpoint, even if it’s later determined that this was a major problem or issue as some have immediately asserted, that still doesn’t make what they did right either IMO.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. Ashton made a stupid mistake and far as I can tell, UK has looked into and addressed the situation.

But, that doesn’t give a pass to fans immediately assuming the absolute worst about the kid without any evidence or context or even hearing the other side. That’s been my beef from the start.

To be fair also, I got upset and heated in this thread. I don’t ever question other fans loyalty, even when I disagree with them. Maybe I should not have here either. Emotions got the best of me heat of the moment type stuff.

Like all UK fans, I just hope this gets put in the rear view and the team can focus on the post season moving forward. Like it or not, Ashton is a big piece we need to make a championship run IMO.

Exactly what I said. Watch the same video ... but now it’s Vernon Carey, or Udoka Azubuike. No big deal at all, right.
Exactly. Even if the money is legit and he hasn't done anything shady, it once again shows a lack of good judgment. I mean he gets suspended for his actions and he jumps on social media and shoots this video? Critical thinking must not be his strong suit.

Yes you must’ve not did anything stupid as a teenager either, easy to judge from the recliner.

I agree with all of that but here is the thing Ashton’s “employer” is Kentucky. Cal has said multiple times he is with Ashton and his teammates have echoed that sentiment. Maybe there are some issues going on but your example and the perception we know from the people that matter is that we should continue to support him until something comes out from the team that says otherwise

And unfortunately your pg needs to be a lock tite decision maker. I just don’t see how he can run this team any longer.

Jamies Winston did a lot of dumb things off the field in college and even made questionable on field plays at times but he came back and won a title at Florida state...

They are doing damage control to protect him. That doesn’t mean there won’t continue to be ramifications. There’s also the damage control of protecting the program and the perception with future recruits. They see Ashton get thrown to the dogs no matter what he does and recruiting will take a major hit. Cal to me yesterday sounded like a guy whose patience is being tried and this is hurting our team. Cal when he says things have changed in the last 3 years well that’s an indictment on certain kids. Probably starts with Vanderbilt. Then quade. Perhaps Khalil and now Ashton.

Lots of assumptions there

You would think if they were that worried about it the university wouldn't be tagging Aston on Twitter and Instagram after we won yesterday. Still not a smart thing to do.

youre standing to close to the dry erase markers

You gonna admit that I think and I know for sure are 2 different things ?

I never said you claimed it was for sure. I said you shouldn’t have said it at all and it is a perception thing. UK fans should wait until there is clear and absolute proof before throwing something like that out IMO.

I’m not trying to keep arguing this. I just thought it was out of line to even suggest that when we didn’t know the whole story. It’s the kind of thing that our rival fans would say. I’m not saying you did it intentionally I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it was in the heat of the moment.

I’m just glad that the end result was that it does appear to be nothing serious. UK has evidently investigated and Ashton has been cleared but reprimanded I’m sure. Let’s allow Ashton and the guys to move on and focus on the post season.

show me the post where someone said he for sure got money from an agent

You like to speculate friend. You previously speculated he was shaving points.

The video doesn't look good, that is probably all that needs to be said.

It could be his money, it could be someone elses money, it could be fake, it could be from something bad. None of us know.

Sounds like UK is already discussing. Your speculation is a detriment to the board and is quite possibly slanderous.

He obviously screwed up regardless of where it came from or if it is real or fake money, it is a bad look.

Hagans makes extremely poor choices, but he is a young man and no one is perfect.

I don’t think it’s anything serious, just probably flaunting someone else’s money.

that being said... after UNcheat, Duke*, Zona, MEmphis, LSU Auburn etc etc etc can get off while being on tape cheating, paying for parents houses, etc, I am not worried AT ALL about the NCAA* enforcement!!

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax a little bit. We've had guys before who haven't exactly been "mature."...Wall sulking during the season, Jones/Cal tension, Monk laughing on the bench during a blowout at Florida, etc. Has Hagans handled things well? Nope, but let's just take a step back and trust that UK and Cal are on top of things. Time to focus on the postseason.

The problem is we don’t know the outcome of it yet.

I think it’s safe to assume if Ashton plays the next game or even this post season it’s been addressed and he’s been cleared.

UK has the best compliance Dept on the planet and they I’m sure knew about this the instant it happened. Still haven’t heard exactly when that was, but if Ashton played after it happened we are good. If he hasn’t played since the video but he does play this post season then he has been cleared.

UK would never take a chance on playing a student athlete that they thought was even remotely possible to have a major violation. Never in a million years IMO. The consensus right now is that he is playing in the SEC tourney so if that happens I’m gonna feel good about the whole thing.

I certainly hope your last paragraph is correct, but where are you getting that he’s been cleared of anything? If you’re referring to that statement posted earlier, it didn’t say anything about the outcome. It only said the compliance department was aware of the situation and has addressed it. No where did it say how they addressed it or anything about the outcome.

I asked if he was............ Do you want me to ask again after seeing the snapchat?

I'd ask the questions if it was a non UK player.... Im not going to be a hypocrite and not ask the question just because its a UK player

and now that things are out........ most likely not point shaving....... most likely he's been stressing about UK finding out this snap chat happened added to the stress of the GF and NBA.........

thats what happens when you ask questions.... you can rule it out and try to figure out what it is...
