Ashton Hagans Snapchat

Just doesn't sound like a suspension to me, or even some mutual agreement. Then again, Cal is making a stance of "I choose if I start him or not", so maybe Cal did need to send a message. I don't know.

Still, no one really knows. We have ideas on it, sure. But that's it.

As for the money, I really couldn't care less.. it's such a non-issue (from a eligibility standpoint), and with the way other programs are thumbing their nose to the NCAA, I don't think Kentucky even needs to mention it.

To me, real fake aint even the point. The point is Ashton Hagans thinks it's all about him and puts himself ahead of the team and the program. This is unacceptable and he needs to be held accountable for his unacceptable behavior. Its bad enough that he blew up the team, now he's trying to bring down the entire program to look what he thinks is good on social media. Oh hell no!

Well he did get suspended for a game, and now Cal is going to have a talk with him today.
Is that not enough for you? I think this was all probably a big learning lesson for Hagans, and hopefully has matured from this

WTH, you aren't really horrible

He is referring to me. We were arguing yesterday. I don't recall calling him horrible but I do think I said insane.

He had speculated that AH was up to some very rotten things that could land the program on probation, strip wins, etc.

Also, I might add that per the definition provided by him when you make a prediction you are speculating, which ironically means that he was predicting AH was up to said rotten things.

Enough for me? No. Hagans is lucky that I'm a nobody on a message board because unacceptable behavior is unacceptable to me.

UK has said what they have said,I'm not grasping to dismiss anything.I think there is a question as to whether it looks like real money or not.

It really doesn't matter if it was real or not the look of it(video) is not a good one for the program,Hagans or anyone else. It is further compounded by the dust up with Cal and the strength coach. The cumulative effect points to Hagans having some sort of problem/issue with his current situation.Taking one game off is going to fix that?

I think it goes without saying that we fall in line with whatever happens. He either plays or doesn't play and all we do is watch to see what takes place.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s real either. If not, it’s hilarious. He punked the fan base, the media, other fan bases. We clearly have some fans that deserve it from him.

I don't disagree with you there. Either way it was not a wise move even if it was a joke and the money is fake. This program is under a microscope and doesn't need that type of attention.

This goes on EVERYWHERE in high level athletics. I’m never subscribing to the we are above it viewpoint. From high school on these kids are being handed “gifts”.

Sad but true..I'm sure every fan believes their team is above it. Much like every fan believes the refs are against them.

There are hundreds of people who post here. Maybe two dozen of them are terrible and only here to agitate or troll. It's a pretty easy fix and then this place is enjoyable.

It's as much a feature of this site as quotes, emojis and liking posts. If everyone used it instead of trying to convince NoOnePutsBabyInACorner that he's wrong, it would make it better for everyone, but sadly, you still see the replies to people you've ignored.

Works a bit like immunizations and vaccines, really.

Pretty sure baby corner guy is actually a UK fan

No doubt about it. He's competitive, yes, smart, no. Every game he does the opposite of what Cal is looking for.
The person who is spending his time chatting about the life of someone else for free is attempting to assess the intelligence of a young college basketball player who was smart enough to get accepted into UK. Also, this kid in a very short period of time has accomplished more than you are likely to accomplish in your life time. How about you displaying your high IQ (LOL) by giving the kid a break?

Looking at the still image, that is fake money.
A 50 bill has a large dark 50 written in the lower right corner, that bill in the video has it in the upper right corner. And the bill doesnt appear to have any other numbers written in the corners like a real 50 bill does
That

That’s definitely fake money. I’ve got a screenshot of it and the numbering on the bill is huge. I wish I knew how to post the pic. Still not a good look.

Or it could confirm that he has trouble with making good judgement decisions.

Cal’s tweet is not good for Ashton Hagans. The fake/real/shaved/earned/savings/borrowed/ money doesn’t have anything to do with it probably. Just the fact that he behaved that way then reposted this. He’s not taking any of this serious.

And I won’t have a philosophical discussion about “what is serious” with anyone. He’s the starting point guard on a blue blood heading into March as a sophomore. He knows where he should be and what he’s expected to do. This ain’t it.

Cal is either sending a direct message to Ashton before he starts him in Nashville, or he’s leaving open the door for him to not return. Either way, Cal is angrier at Hagans than any player I’ve seen. It’s just highly out of character. Spin it however you want.

It is amazing how often Shakespeare said it best - even 400 years later:

"Much Ado About Nothing."

I agree. I think Cal is totally frustrated with Ashton and this has made it worse, but Cal will probably play him, hoping to get him drafted. Because Cal really cares about his players and help them enrich their lives. But anyone thinking Ashton might return next year, forget about it. Too many bridges been burned.

Just discussing it, I can’t see Hagans back at UK next year. Cal doesn’t throw point guards in the dog house in March. Hell rarely anytime for that matter. Seems self explanatory to me. We shall see.

What gives him the best chance to win, once the real tourney starts. He’s holding all the cards and of course he won’t show til Friday. I’d guess he starts Brooks, brings Hagans off the bench about ten minutes in, then plays to win in the second half, based on who is playing well. Eventually Ashton will be running point most of the time.

Some coaches are like that. Cal doesn’t care about that sort of thing this late in the year for an opening game against a team he should beat.

Also Cal doesn’t care about the SEC tournament and most of our fans nowadays don’t either. I was told repeatedly it’s meaningless once he sounded that horn.

Seriously though, I don’t think Cal would allow the issue to linger if he knew what he was doing. Seems like he’s wanting Ashton to come to him and so far he hasn’t liked the response. It’s cal, he talks to
The players through the media.

I bet he plays too

it won't be forgotten however if he tanks in a game
Can you imagine this board if he really stinks up a game with bad decisions, TOs, missed shots and is basically the reason we lose in the NCAAs? If AH was under pressure before, if you believe Cal's 'personal reasons' for him not playing at UF, unfortunately AH has really put himself under the microscope the last week or so. I kind of feel sorry for him...but no one to blame but himself I guess.

Officially National news now - Clay Travis & Jason McIntyre have posted on Twitter to there massive followings about UK paying players in last 30 minutes
Hagans should be suspended 3 games for stupidity and that is what Cal should call it.

Yeah...didn’t expect this thread to go this many pages
(And here I am contributing to it again)

bottom line: Hagans made an incredibly stupid mistake and I still think it’s related to his “ahem” time off
However we have too many people in this thread jumping to conclusions when not one person here knows the whole story

btw, @morgousky ...question. Did you say AH reposted this? I was under the impression it was dug up and reposted by that UofL fan named in the OP?

I am not on Twitter, how massive is their followings?

I'm curious. Can anyone point to a rule that has been broken with supporting evidence? Can anyone honestly believe that UK would continue to play Hagans or even allow his continued association with the team if such an infraction existed or might exist?

I thought not. Just a bunch of gossiping hens and hand ringers. This is not a cesspool like Auburn, U6, The Filth or Kansas.
If Hagans plays Friday, and I’m pretty confident he will, then I don’t think there will be any doubt that there’s nothing to this stuff. However, if he doesn’t play there will be concern even if it’s not merited.
