So you're saying it's more than a dumb video and a mistake so what would you have happen? KU had players in a brawl and in the handicap section where people could have been hurt. Should he be held to that level of punishment, which they are still on the team and playing? They did that to their program on National TV. Ashton made a dumb video like a million other kids his age or older. Yes, he is held at another level because he is a UK and Division I BB player.
He wasn't with the team for the FL game which very well could have not been his decision. You don't know all the facts or more than any of us do, but I'm curious what should his punishment be. What if is it fake money and he didn't expect people to take it seriously. Still dumb, but again we don't have all the facts so right now it's a stupid video and a dumb mistake, but many players have done worse and continued to play. Threatened women, destroyed or stolen property, fought and so on and so on. I trust Cal and UK to do the right thing and the appropriate action for the best of the team and players.
And some on here would be making excuses for that, if he did it.
What proof do you have that he didn't do anything wrong? The University put out a generic statement that left more questions than answers.
It doesn't work like that. Burden of proof is on the accuser not the accused.
There’s no proof that he broke any rules that we know of. But there is proof that he did something stupid and immature.
I count 2 things that fit into those areas(3 if you count stealing the ball from Nick)

I am not accusing. The university should have got out in front of this thing. They did a piss poor job of that.
IMO, Ashton Hagans has used up all his immature mistakes. I hope Cal has him on a short leash for the teams sake going forward.
Nobody on here knows anything. All speculation and homerism. The people that do know aren’t talking. Again, the University completely botched this.
His actions and judgements really do question whether we need him or not.

Everybody put your fandom aside and be honest with yourselves for a second and ask yourself “what would I be saying/thinking if this were Zion Williamson last year”. I hope it’s nothing as much as the next fan, but we don’t know and everybody who is not a Kentucky fan is obviously gonna think the worst, as would we if it were a rival team’s player.
To stop what is happening right now. It has gone viral and there is more questions than answers and perception that something is being hidden. As Barney Fife would say, “nip it, nip it in the bud”.
A UK spokesman came out and said it has been addressed and is also unrelated to the recent Hagans absence. That is all I need to know.
I don't think the University needs to release an official statement because people are freaking out on a message board.
Just saying, we 100% wouldn’t be defending a rival team’s player so I think it’s a little funny that so many on here are certain it was fake money or a friends’ or fake etc. etc. Nobody knows.
On another note, Matt Jones just said if it were Nate Sestina nobody would be saying anything because his parents see wealthy. What a racist comment.

You keep acting like you are owed an answer from the University. There it is. Pay particular attention to the last sentence. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Yep and some of you would follow the wagon right over a cliff. I will not. I am concerned about our program and the appearance of this. We bash the hell out of KU and their shenanigans and here some of you are just fine with generic comment from an unknown university representative. And pray tell what are they protecting a player from? The player started this whole mess.
Yes, and all your hand-wringing and "sky is falling" is just that. There is no wagon going over the cliff. And the only negativity on the program really, is our own fans who continue to try to make more of this than there actually is. It draws more attention that the actual instagram post that HAS been addressed.
My hands are not ringing. This fiasco don’t affect me in any way, but it is not a good look for our program. You can buy it if you want. If you think it’s a good look, be my guest. We just disagree.

I don't think anyone in this 16 page thread disagrees that it isn't a good look from Hagans. It was kinda dumb. But...that is all that it was. Not world ending or program wrecking. Just a dumb post from a kid who sometimes does dumb things. Let Cal and UK handle it. We as fans do not deserve more than we have already been told.
Did you switch anti-depressant meds this month? You appear to be more crestfallen than normal since the win on Saturday.
BTW, I had to google Barney Fife. I assumed you were quoting an accomplished dignitary not a fictional fool. It does shed some light on your thought process and intellect.
He was held accountable. He was suspended for a game, Cal just doesn't throw his players under the bus- he protects them- always...that is who he is.

See...You or I don't get to decide what is accountable. Cal and UK do. Pretty much all there is to it. You don't like it, but it is what it is.
