Arkansas…

Can we just like, enjoy our team? I had so much fun last night. Yes, it is hilarious looking at the state of the two programs, but I refuse to lower myself to even watch, let alone engage in discussions about, a vastly inferior program. It seems like some people are obsessed.
Don’t read the thread and go enjoy yourself somewhere else. Is that a difficult notion?

Is your first name Karen?

My assumption is that you, like 92% of all breathing individuals in the city of Lexington, have watched every second of Arkansas' games. How can you not see Davis holding his wrist every time he falls, or Aidoo barely able to run in the 2 minutes he's out there, or Brazile just not playing.

They're not excuses. It's reality. Reality could be that it derails the season because they never got healthy. But, the pieces are there and the team is built really well; they just can't seem to get everyone healthy.

We'll see.
I'm not saying the injuries are fake. They very well could be legit. Cal has some kind of problem with his conditioning methods. He can't keep a team healthy. It's plagued him for years and doesn't show any signs of letting up at his next stop. By the time one guy gets healthy, someone else will get hurt. Doesn't help that he refuses to use all of his scholarships. He runs his guys ragged. You'll see.

I check probably once every few weeks as someone who has a ubiquitous rivals sub.

You won’t believe me, but I think yall are setting yourselves up for a big letdown. Duke had a historically bad shooting night with a 7 man rotation and led for 95% of the game. While they’re good, no doubt, they’re also incredibly young and you caught them at probably their worst.

You guys can be very good, but you have two massive holes: center and pg. But, I know you all will take this in stride.
No, we won’t believe you. You think you have a good team and good coach and that makes you an idiot.

Not inefficient on purpose. Inefficient because of variables outside of any one person's control: injuries. So instead of rushing players back, you're not playing Aidoo, Davis isn't on ball, and you sit guys like Brazile the second half of games.

My assumption is neither Brazile or Aidoo play tonight. Get them healthy; they're not needed against this team.

Maybe the biggest frustration so far is what appears to be poor understanding of guys health. We've got 13 scholarship guys on the team and 6 are injured: Aidoo, Davis, Brazile, Blake, Sanchez, Chavis. Word was they had to bring on managers to even get a practice in the last few weeks of the summer. Not sure if there was a, "let them fight through it," mentality. But that has not helped things.
You did say inefficient on purpose. What other d1 team has a roster of 13 with nearly half injured. Keep coming around as the year progresses.

Ecstatic. The defense is elite. No idea on the offense because we are dealing with an incredible amount of injuries that, IMO, they're holding back on purpose. The next three games are basically who Kentucky has played - sans Duke. My assumption is 1 of 2 things happen: 1) either the inefficiency continues because they're still letting Aidoo/Brazile/Davis get healthy or 2) things really take off because guys are healthy and the quality of the opponent dips tremendously.

Listen, you guys had a great win. No one will argue that. Game of the night, center stage, and you won.

But, Duke was 1/9 on wide open threes in the second half, their best defender got hurt, and a team already dealing with C depth had their C either get hurt or so gassed he had to keep getting subbed out. That backup C for them was God awful. And they had the ball tied with :20 left and shit the bed three times in a row.

I know you guys think what happened to Jaxson is an aberration; but, I can tell you after watching this guy for 4 years now - that's the normal when he plays anyone with athleticism.

I think a team like Arkansas - elite defense in the backcourt - will give you guys fits. Additionally on defense, any time Duke wanted it, all they had to do was post up Jaxson, Brea, Kerr, whomever and go at them defensively. Williams, Butler, and Garrison are elite defenders. But they're awful on offense. Put, Williams/Garrison in a ball screen with your post and secondary ball-handler. The pick and pop will be open 24/7. If Butler hedges on the elbow, kick to the corner three which - because Butler had to run at the pop - should be wide open. Duke didn't have a C who could shoot a ball over 2 feet which was a big plus for Kentucky. If Duke was smart - part of this is on Scheyer; he got schooled by Pope - they should have gone Flagg at the 5 and forced Williams/Garrison onto an island.

One big thing I came away impressed with was Carr. He played very well not only on offense but on defense as well vs Flagg. Yeah, Flagg got his own, but he was never able to really get into a groove and take over.

As always, worst of luck to you all, :)
This guy.... LOL , he thinks Cal knows how to guard the three.

It took you guys a late 14-1 run to pull away from Lipscomb. Troy gave you all they could handle for much of the game. Cal lost to Oakland last season, and St. Peters two seasons prior to that. He lost to UNC-Wilmington last season. I get it, you're an inexperienced Cal supporter, but you will learn "they're not needed against this team" is something you might want to be cautious of saying when it comes to a Cal coached team.

It’s been 30 years since Arkansas fans had anything to cheer about, so enjoy this moment before things go south.
But, you’re still rusty at analyzing good basketball. Kentucky’s defensive backcourt is much better than Arkansas’.
Keep on posting on Kentucky’s page, we’ll all get a big laugh out of you when the inevitable flameout happens.

This is like being married to someone for years, divorce and the new person in the ex's life has been dating for a couple of months and just can't understand why you let them go. Enjoy him Arkansas, we know a lot more about him about than you do (basketball too, for that matter). I would rather stick my willy in a nest of funnel web spiders than to hear who's injured with no discernible timetable, yelling "go", jackass press conferences when things go well, no shows when they don't, hearing about who got drafted, and just the general malaise and ineptitude. You're happy, God bless you. Will I take some joy every time you lose and the same old lines and excuses come out that we heard the last 5 years? Yeah, I will and it will be with both joy and relief that it's not me anymore.

At this point I'm just hoping Tyler Ulis doesn't become damaged goods and we can bring him on staff in a few years once we get an opening
I don't know if Tyler is all the great individual that we have all kinda pegged him to be.

They aren’t computers
We are young
We are building for March
I like my team
We're not the only ones that think Cal is not changing. I don't know if anyone else has seen this and I'm sorry if it's already been mentioned or posted. I just though it was interesting.
