I know this was Murray St, but Boley had some nice zip and touch on his throws. His pocket awareness wasn't great, but the Oline failed a couple of times too. He's my QB2 going forward.
I don’t agree. Boley is a freshman, and to call him “horrible” doesn’t fit with his recent performance. What’s horrible is our OC, and we need better o-line.Vandergriff looked good against Southern Miss too. I wouldn’t put much into it. The bottom line is we have 3 horrible QBs on the roster.
Dumb take we have the worst oline in power 5 FootballVandergriff looked good against Southern Miss too. I wouldn’t put much into it. The bottom line is we have 3 horrible QBs on the roster.

OK, but let's see if Boley can look better if not good. Let's get the data point.Dumb take we have the worst oline in power 5 Football
No QB would look good behind these guys
The bottom line is we have a horrible offensive line and offensive line coach....and 1 horrible QB -wimsattVandergriff looked good against Southern Miss too. I wouldn’t put much into it. The bottom line is we have 3 horrible QBs on the roster.
I don’t think starting him at Texas in that environment would do him any favors. Only play him when that game gets out of hand and try to preserve his redshirt. There’s a very remote chance we could still get a bowl at 5-7 if there doesn’t end up being enough 6-6 teams. We’d obviously need to beat Louisville for that to be a chance, So I would avoid playing him against Texas if possible. Maybe give him more run against Louisville and see if he can win it for us.He seems to find the open receivers better and gets rid of the ball quicker than BV. He also runs the option pretty well as he did a couple times yesterday. He might not fare as well against better defenses, but I’d give him the reins and prepare for next year.
The bowl game, not that we're likely to get one, won't cost the redshirt. It doesn't count.I don’t think starting him at Texas in that environment would do him any favors. Stoops will go down the Titanic with bvg at the helm no kentuckians will tell him who to start sounds very reminisce of the cal yearsI know this was Murray St, but Boley had some nice zip and touch on his throws. Why is he a coward? That should be were he wants to start if he’s a football player. In fact, he should have been starting as a true freshman from day one. It’s the OL that needs fixing for UK to succeed not the QB. If we magically became the best OL in the country we would only run the ball more. Unless Stoops attitude leaves, it doesn’t matter who is our QB or what kind of line we have.I don’t think starting him at Texas in that environment would do him any favors. I realize we were “only” playing Murray State, but there is no question that Boley looked good.
His secret: he actually made “easy” throws of 5-15 yards look easy. He was under pressure at least twice, and flipped quick tosses or even under-handed passes to prevent a sack, and even gain a few yards.
And I was a tad surprised by his mobility. He looked comfortable running a little option . . . I found myself thinking, “heady play by Boley” a half-a-dozen times, where in the last 4 years I have seen our QB’s absorb losses that could have been avoided.
He's the best looking FR QB we've had in a long time.

A good trivia question: who was the last True Frosh to throw a TD pass at UK??
I think despite a couple of sacks when guys were unblocked he did as good as Brock in the pocket. He didn't rush to bail and took time to go through his progressions instead of locking onto a receiver and waiting so long for them to come open that he took a sack.I know this was Murray St, but Boley had some nice zip and touch on his throws. It is interesting that ABS has hardly gotten any targets all season, and then he breaks out for two TDs as soon as Boley gets some extended PT.Anthony Brown -Stephen’s thinks Cutter is the best qb on the squad.
Looks like that's new this year, I wasn't aware of that. I do stand by my remarks that he shouldn't be thrown into a starting role at Texas in that environment. just play him once the game inevitably gets out of hand. The bowl game, not that we're likely to get one, won't cost the redshirt. It doesn't count.

Jarod L. occurred to me, but he redshirted his True Frosh season, then prohibiting all play.
Is Couch the last True Frosh to complete a TD pass, (against U of L, August 31, 1996, 40 yard bomb to Issac Curtiss III in a 38-14 home loss.).
Did ABS and Hardly Gilmore both have two receiving TD’s?
Woodson I know played as a true freshman, I was at the Auburn game he started that year. He threw 2 as a true freshman.

Totally agree, BBI. And, what's weird to me is that the plays called for Boley were completely different: a lot of shorter patterns, flat passes, working the middle of the field, etc. Hamdan asking Brock to roll left and throw 15+ yards across his body is another head scratcher that he calls about 3 times every game. I'm not sure I've seen him complete more than one or two all year. Call the same plays for Brock (short, timing, slants, flats, etc.) and I think he'd be fairly effective. He's not Tom Brady but I believe the play calling, the lack of trying to establish something every game, the rotation of the QBs, not understanding what Brock's skills are (and aren't) have all played into underwhelming performance. Throw in a very questionable OL in combo and you've got a recipe for a lot of pressures/sacks, ineffective plays, low percentage passing, etc. Basically, what we've witnessed all year from the offense. He did look good. I was very pleased and especially surprised by his athleticism.
I think brock gets a bad rap on this game because he didn't practice all week, and maybe not for two weeks. Thats significant. By the same token though, boley took all first team reps, which showed.
I am very critical of bush and especially his qb handling. Other than the god awful rotating qbs, the other major red flag concept he loves for brock is the max protect, play action, super slow mo/delayed full reverse roll out into a really deep drop.
That takes so freaking long to develop its insane. Plus the qb turns his back to the d twice. Its insanity to think anyone would try this vs an sec d. Hell even if it all worked and the mutant sec dl didn't win a matchup, QB still has to complete a 60+ yard throw in air because wrs were in routes for 4-5 seconds.
Maybe that works when you have a noticable talent advantage but it should never even be attempted otherwise. Especially not in the sec.
