Yeah playing 7 doesn't mean you have enough to practice, and if you haven't noticed over the last few years, Cal has always lost for multiple games several players over a season. So having enough to practice and play a game but only playing 7 are two different things.

I didn’t read any responses to this thread. I just find it impressive that Calipari did such a good job at UMASS that people considered that to be a big time job for years afterwards. People said Travis Ford was making too big a leap from EKU.

The best job Cal has done and one of the best anyone has done in college basketball history was turning Umass into a top 10 team. I they were a perennial top 10 team his last 3 or 4 seasons.
That program has done **** all outside of the Cal era.
Cal has not been very good for at least 6 seasons now, but at one point he was a great.

Here’s what I’ll say. Cal had that 96 FF vacated. We all act like cal didn’t know what happened but after the last several years of listening him say whatever he has to im not so sure of what he knew. Same at Memphis. I cannot say cal did not know he was playing with an ineligible player in either situation now. I used to defend him on those but now Idk.

Those UMASS teams played balls to the wall and shared the ball. It's like everyone knew their role or something. Hell they beat us with our GOAT team. That final four rematch and de facto title game was a war. We'd build a lead and they would fight back time after time.
