Allen for Duke trips another player...no foul called

How does he not get a suspension for trying to twist a guys knee and then attempting to trip on that blow by from the Clemson player?

He won't go anywhere.

It always seems like cal can't catch a great team during a down year. Whenever we're at full strength, there's 3 other teams nearly as good. When we're down, college ball seems down. It's bizarre.

Even 2012 there were multiple teams who could have won.
We were the team in 2012. No one else was winning that title. Everyone else was playing for second place.

i been saying it.

He is dirty. Even against Louisville, it looked to me like he threw an elbow first. Which is what angered the UL player to go ape.

But not just that, he looked like he was doing a lot of other dirty plays.

Allen is a Dirty Player. Needs to be suspended.

Dude is straight up dirty . Kid needs to get some Clearasil and some manners while he is at it.
and as much as I'm not a fan of UofL - that T that got called on ....whatshisname? Johnson? was kinda bogus; Allen was swinging elbows and flapping his hands after the whistle was blown. UofL guy reacted cause he got smacked in the face.

Yea I agree, but the sentiment was UNC was "as" good (I don't believe it) and Indiana.....

Speaking to Indiana, they made the 2012 UK team score over 100 points and play flawless to beat them. I'm not up talking indiana, but had we not been in the way I think they might have won it all.

Could you imagine a UK player tripping people and throwing elbows like that? Hell we can't spike the ball celebrating a big play without it being whistled a technical, a UK player would probably be ejected and suspended for the crap Allen does.

This is getting ridiculous.

When will this jerk of a person get called out for his dirty play?

He yells "that's f'n bs to the official after he fouls out all the other and now this. He should ride the pine for a game ACC imposed

If it had been the other way around, Rathan-Mayes would've been T'ed up and likely faced suspension for his actions against poor, defenseless little Grayson.

One is a mistake, twice is a trend.

Coach K needs to be called out on this. It's his job to discipline players. Make them play correctly. It won't happen, but the media needs to hold his feet to the fire if he doesn't do anything.

And he won't. Because in his heart, K is a low life win at all costs who encourages whatever his players do. Flop, trip, whatever.

There are now several clips/stories about it on the ESPN CBB homepage. Kara Lawson had a few things to say about it.

I guess the good news is that now that it's a national media story he can't get away with it as easily. At least no one else is likely to get hurt.

But yeah...he's a jerk and should sit a game. Even Pitino sat Jones for faking getting hit in the face last year. This could cause an actual injury to another player! Bet K does nothing.

Remember last year when Justice Winslow tripped up or attempted to trip up Justin Anderson of UVA? I sure do. Really makes one wonder if this kind of shenanigans is, in fact, implemented by K himself.

Stupid thing to do. It was retaliation for the elbow to the ribs from a few seconds before, and the "getting way too close"/bump/step on the foot immediately preceding it (which was retaliation for a steal....) but dumb to do. You've got to keep your cool and be mature.

Don't think it deserves a suspension; an admittedly-deliberate elbow to the face/refs pull a player off didn't get one, so I don't think a little thing like this should. It might be a bit dirty and jerky, but nobody is really going to get hurt from this. That's a bit overblown.

Anyway... Trash away;)

with all due respect - yeah, someone could get hurt with that particular play. Grabbing the leg of a player in motion could cause any number of injuries. You see how easily a player can hypertextend a leg, turn an ankle or worse with OUT help.

Oh, and I don't think you can really blame the ref for missing it. Last few seconds of a 15 point game, almost everyone has stopped really playing, ref was watching the inbounds... A sneaky little thing like that, at foot/knee level, with Xavier between Grayson and the ref? I think that is super understandable to miss, although obviously it should have been a foul.

Well sure, someone could get hurt, but I don't think it is as wildly dangerous as some are making it out to be. I mean, sticking your foot out is something little kids do. Given the insane physicality of basketball, the boxing out and the jumping and the charging and the blocking... I think people are overblowing the actual danger of it. Totally a cheap shot and deserved at least a foul, but I don't think it deserves some of the anger over the potential for getting hurt that it has generated. I mean... You watch an MMA fight, and nobody gets knocked out by a somewhat wimpy trip... They get teeth knocked out with elbows and the like:)

To be clear, not excusing it at all; cheap and stupid. Just saying it was not some truly dangerous, dangerous play.

Really yea, I lot can happen in basketball. Flying limbs all over the place. I've seen less cause serious harm. I've seen players tripped that led to a broken ankle.

This kid is dangerous. The scary part is he's getting no technicals. It's got to stop and the favoritism for Duke in that conference is getting sick. UK players would have been thrown out. Period.

There's no bias. None.

Shaq Goodwin tripped a South Carolina player during their game. It wasn't even half as bad.

The conference suspended him.

The ACC is going to review the incident, but cited "the whole game" not just the tripping incident.

Hahahahababa

It's a joke. It really is.

You're a poor ambassador for your program.

The unexpected nature of the trip is the most dangerous part. Anytime you take a hit that you weren't prepared for, you run the risk of injury.

Accidents happen, but intentionally dirty plays like this need to be dealt with.

allen's theatrical reaction to rathan-mayes being on the ground sort of gives away that he tripped him intentionally

nobody else seemed to notice, and i've brought it up before, but the dirtiest play allen has made this season was taking out a dunking wake forest player's legs as he put his arms up and palms out in korver-esque mock supplication

He's got two technicals this year.
