Before yesterday's game AJ Reed was 7 batting average points shy of the SEC triple crown. As of today, he leads the league in RBIs, home runs and is tied for first with Will Allen for batting average at .359. So, does he still win the triple crown or does he get denied it because he doesn't have the batting average title outright? Were he to achieve this it would be the first time since 1984 that someone has done it, that person was Rafael Palmeiro. I have not seen anything saying that he has taken the title, but I do hope that he has. He certainly deserves it.

Wow... just saw something posted by Brent Ingram on twitter:

At the end of the triple crown.
Just crazy that he lost by just that much. Will Allen went 80 for 223 (.3587) v. Reed's 71 for 198 (.3585)

If he's not the national player of the year, then they should shut down the award for good.
