*****#7 Kentucky at #14 Ole Miss Official Game Thread*****

We just choked a game we should have won. And we’re pissed. How the eff is that fair weather?
It is one thing to be upset about the loss, but going after a specific player for trying his best to get the W is a bit much. Some stating the season is over because we can't make the playoffs. Who do you prefer to play Levis spot if not him? Each year, the program is getting better and the pollsters are rewarding them for it. The old Kentucky team would have lost this game by a lot considering all the things that went against them today.

I'm encouraged. We were better than a top 15, SEC West team on their home field. It sucks that we found a way to lose but at least we know who we are. No one will want us by the end of the year.
Keep telling yourself that.......this O line had best improve quick but I just don't see that line progressing much this season. They've had four games and don't look much better than the first game

Wut? This was last years lost to Miss St and UT all over. We choked.
I don’t mind that we aren’t an uptempo team. But we have got to make improvements in how we play these teams. Too many snaps even early when we’re fresh where we aren’t really ready for the snap defensively. Did we do well by holding them to 22? Yeah. But they were knocking on the door all day and wore us out. I would rather have the wrong play call but have everybody seeing the whole play from presnap than that stuff. I don’t think the offensive play calls got us as much as just not having eyes on the whole play early. We play solid d when everything is settled we have to find an adjustment to do a little better against these teams. It’s one thing we have to do is get better coaching against tempo teams. That being said, hit your field goal and extra points it’s an ugly win.

Actually Dart looked like the better QB today, but a lot of that was because he had time to throw, while Levis didn’t.

I hope everybody is ready Kentucky plays 2 teams coming up who play exactly like ole miss and have way better QBS than what dart is

We don’t have anyone to play. But Levis okay deserves to be critiqued today. It was bad.

Dart looked like the better QB because he wasn't under fire like Levis. If Levis had Dart's time in the pocket, we would have easily won the game with our skill players on the edges.

Wohlabaugh got absolutely manhandled on the play that Levis fumbled. Good god is Goodwin nowhere near ready?

All Levis had to do was slide up climbing the pocket. Would've had all day. Qbs are never supposed to drop back and stay there especially that long. Wohlabough could've done a better job but Levis was more at fault on that one.

He had more time because we rush 3. Teams blitz Levis because he's shown he can't consistently make them pay. He doesn't move well in the pocket, misses reads, and holds the ball too long.

He'll see it all season so he needs to start making teams pay. He just doesn't. Quite the opposite

Yes and we were still better than a top 15 team on their field. You can't understand that?
Why does it matter? Kentucky lost. You can't change that, and you can't claim the losing team to be better. "Well, if this were to happen..." "If mistakes weren't an issue..." "Kentucky had a chance..." Still doesn't change the outcome. Better teams find a way to get the win through anything.

I have no issues with him being critiqued. If you review my posts, you will see that I critiqued him. However, I believe the kid gave all that he had considering the OL did very little to protect him. Also, he was trying to play us beyond all the screw ups by the kicking team. Noticed that I called out the team and not the individual. Also, my post wasn't directed at you. I was directed at those who said they were finished with Levis and calling the season over because we might not make the playoffs.

Agree. It's silly to say UK was the better team. In no facet of the game today was UK better.

It is amazing that you would say that he doesn't move well in the pocket. The announcers started their coverage by showing plays when he did move well in the pocket. It isn't that he doesn't move well in the pocket as much as it is that he loses awareness in the pocket. He doesn't have that internal clock that should alert him that he is running out of time so that he can get rid of the ball.

When's the last time UK beat Ole Miss ? I know the last like three or four times UK has played them, it's been gut punching losses by 4 or less points.

Anyone can cherry pick a few plays but doesn't make it so. He doesn't consistently move well in the pocket. The best part is the cherry picked clips all resulted in big plays. Why? Because he helped his OL by stepping up or sliding and have the play time to develop.

He can't just drop back, not move, and hold the ball forever. Especially not considering how often defense blitz him

I’m hoping for bowl eligibility. Ga and TN will beat us. I’m thinking 7 wins.

Yeah, I get that but Wohlabaugh barely touched his man, ran past him like he was a statue.

We played about as crappy as possible on the road against the #14 rank team and lost by only 3 with 2 chances to win and this makes you feel like we can't beat UT. Well, there will be no point in you watching either of those two games. So, less negativity.

If you're an OT and your man runs straight up field, he should be running himself out of the play. He's literally just running around a block. The QB should never be there.

If his set goes that far outside, he gives up a lethal inside move.

He could've got a better punch for sure but the QB shouldn't have been there especially after that long. If he slides up like he's supposed to, the de just runs himself out of the play

7 wins is probably the most likely outcome. Back to “nobody gives a shit bowl”

I will watch, but we have played crappy against these small schools we’ve played all season and won. I haven’t felt like we can beat TN for several weeks now. Not just because we lost today. Our secondary is awful, Hooker will expose that just like he did last year.
