Bracket help

I assume that the looser of tonight's game would face UF in an elimination game and the winner of the elimination game would face the winner of tonights game, is that correct? Then lets say that the winner of the elimination game beats the winner of tonights game, I assume they would have a rematch. Do I have all of this correct?

By the way, I want to admitt that I was completely wrong about coach Mingione. I am not saying that just because he got this team to Omaha, I am so impressed with the type of man he is and the way he comes across. I had no Idea of what kind of person he is until CWS interviews. I don't see how a player wouldn't strongly consider playing for him. I could see the exposure he has gotten in the CWS propelling his recruiting to a much higher level.

SR Game 2 Thoughts + Looking toward Omaha

1. Simply unreal being in that stadium last night. The fans brought it. We lost a few as the night went on (I guess some people didn't feel they could stay too late with work this morning), but truly fantastic atmosphere. I suppose baseball casuals probably didn't love the low-hit pitching duel kind of game, but purists probably love it.

2. Can't say enough about our pitching staff during this NCAA tournament. They had a rough patch in the last month of the season, but they're really pitching well right now. We are getting innings out of guys like O'Brien that I didn't see coming.

3. This game was extremely frustrating at the plate, but I guess that guy was PAC 12 player of the year for a reason. Uncharacteristically bad weekend from Waldy at the plate, but Mccarthy picked up the slack and was the MVP of this game (for a variety of reasons).

4. I still think that we need to get SOMETHING at the plate from Burkes, McCoy, and Smith. Those three are almost automatic outs right now, and it's tough to win if a third of your lineup simply never gets a hit.

5. Mason Moore is so good in spots, but he really struggles with walks. Good Mason Moore was game 3 against Florida. Strugglebus mason Moore is last night. Still got 3 great innings, but feels like it could have been a lot more.

6. One thing I love about this team is the resilience. Grant Smith makes a horrendous error in the field, but responds with an unbelievable run saving catch an inning or two later. Mitch Daly was kind of bad early in the year, but last night he was one of the few guys raking and he also makes the second out in the 9th inning with an outstanding defensive play. Robbie Hummel was left for dead after South Carolina, but comes in and gets the last out in the biggest game in school history with a man on third base ready to break our hearts. Really a lot of life lessons here.

7. People still get frustrated (albeit less so) with some of Ming's decisions (the bunting, the stealing third, the leaving a pitcher in too long, etc), but almost everything that guy has done has worked in this tournament (starting Niman in Game 1 of the regional, the levers he pulled last night, calling on Hummel to get the last out, etc).

8. Best weekend in school history for baseball. Really special to be there.

9. Omaha. Trying to decide if my attitude is just "go out there and enjoy it regardless of outcome" or if I will be disappointed if we go 0-2. Going to try and be level headed. With that said, we can win the whole thing. Tennessee is the best team, but their pitching has some holes in it. Florida is the hottest team and I wish they were on the other side of the bracket b/c I hate them. Texas A&M is up there, though they have some real injury issues. Let's see what happens and enjoy the ride.

FB Recruiting Owen Winder talks UK, recruiting after camp offer

Sounds like going out West is a real possibility. Dad is from Salt Lake City and he's spending three days at BYU soon.

From a Louisville fan...

First and foremost, a sincere congrats on the trip to Omaha. You guys have had a hell of year.

From some experience (having traveled up there for all of our appearances, and a couple before that), if there is any way possible you can make it up to Omaha, GO.

The atmosphere is incredible, and not like anything you've experienced in post season travel. Yes, that includes hoops and bowl games. The city embraces the event like none other, and you guys will get a lot of support from the locals as they tend to embrace the newer teams. Also, don't be surprised to see LSU and Mississippi State fans there, as some of them go up there to party even when they aren't in it.

Omaha is a very underrated city, and there is plenty to do (which is great when you get days off between the first few games). There's plenty of stuff around the stadium, but also check out the Old Market and also the Doorly Zoo (where you can pay homage to the old Rosenblatt Stadium). There are also casinos right across the river in Council Bluffs.

Also, the food scene is great, and it's not just steaks. Personal fave is The Blackstone Meatball, or Vincenzo's in Lincoln, which is about 45 minutes down I-80. It's also kind of neat to check out the University of Nebraska campus, plus Lincoln also has The Haymarket, which is a smaller version of the Old Market.

Additionally, the participating teams usually practice at local high schools, so that's something to check out as well.

Anyway, it's a bit of a hike, but definitely worth the trip if you can make it.

Getting way ahead of myself here, but CWS ticket question

I will go to Omaha come hell or high water, but have never been. So, how do tickets work? Will UK season ticket holders get an opportunity to buy a package? And of course, you are only guaranteed to know when your team plays its first game, so after the first round, how do you get tickets to the next game? Ticketmaster or some other reseller? Any info would be helpful
