Post-Game Commentary: Cats vs. Gonzaga

* What a game, what a crazy win. Cats looked completely overmatched in the 1st half, yet somehow found a way to come back and get the win in OT … huge win for the Cats.

* Cats dug an 18 pt deficit in the first minute of the 2nd half … without Butler the whole game, without Kerr the last 10 minutes of regulation, and won on the road over a really good Gonzaga team. That’s a resume win that I wouldn’t have given the Cats a chance to get to start that 2nd half.

* Am I wrong to say that the short-handed Cats wore down Gonzaga? Is that possible against a deep Zags team?

* We didn’t make our two attempts at the end of regulation, or let a 7pt lead slip away in OT, or make FTs at the end of OT … but we still found a way to win. Wow.

* The switch in the defense changed the game … for whatever reason it messed with the Zags who had been scoring at will on drives to the rim.

* Against the good opponents that we have played, it’s been Carr that we have went thru. He’s an old dude that seems to make big plays when we need them. Oweh and Garrison fought on the glass … Williams was better the last 5-10 minutes. Robinson has shown his ability as a spot up shooter. The criticism is that he plays too soft at times. Tonight, he came up big at PG,

* I didn’t think the Cats got a very good whistle tonight … and still won.

*. UK fans willingness to travel is incredible…

* Up Next: Cats take on Colgate next Wednesday night. … we gotta quit digging these big deficit holes against these good teams, just saying.
