The thinking is that babies need high contrast to develop their rods and cones- without "sharp corners." Their eyes can track curving lines, but can't follow around corners after abrupt stops. If you can give them images that designed to provide this, they can develop their eyesight as early as possible which will help them take everything in, which is pretty much all they do.

Kept them from rolling over while they slept and also gave them the "bundled up tight ad secure" feeling of being swaddled. Worked great for us but I'm sure Joey did his thesis on them and will tell you that they cause teenage impotence.
It appears George went 7 (SEVEN!) hours between feedings tonight. Anth could have given ol dude a bottle, but I don't think he did. That was some much needed sleep. Let's try for another 7 after this, kiddo.
