Zone gets us going again

I am not a huge fan of 100% zone but I like it in spots and I would always zone out of bounds plays underneath the basket

How many threes did the man-to-man give up in the first half? At least 7, many of them wide open. The zone actually puts our defenders in their faces at least. The switching man-to-man gives up way too many open looks, especially against teams with good shooters and guards who can penetrate and dish.
Hopefully, our team gets better defensively as they age.

Actually it was kind of "accidental traps" that broke game open, I wish Cal would use that more and it leads to opponent turnovers and fast break points

It did change the second half. Crazy huh when we're told it doesn't work

Cal wants to play man to man, make them shoot over length, don’t gamble for steals etc

Problem with that defense is it doesn’t allow for pressure traps or zone passing lane clog ups which leads to opponents turnovers and UK transition points

It worked today for the few times they used it. They quit shooting threes and just went to shots in the paint. I guess the zone boi’s were right after all. Trade threes for layups.
