Wow kinda risky considering his injury history. Not sure I’d make that deal if I were them.
Pretty sure Zion played like 60 games in the 72 year season just 2 seasons ago. That’s really stupid but it is the Pelicans. Lol. Wow. Wall has probably played in more games recently and he at least did something to deserve the contract in the first place. The world goes around and the Pelicans continue to suck and make stupid decisions. Shocker.
Sam BamFun trivia game. Who played more games their first 3 years in the league?
Greg Oden, Zion, or Sam Bowie?
Underperformed? He averaged 22 ppg his rookie season and 27 ppg his second seasonI'm not a huge Zion fan... Mostly because he is a Dookie and has underperformed so far.
With that said he is losing weight and working on his game more. I have a feeling he turns things around and has a decent career. Call me crazy but I think that's what happens. If not it will be top 10 busts in NBA history
I agree with this. If he walks, some other team signs him and he could blow up. He had all the leverage in this.If you really think about it, the Pels had no choice.
Ok, i am not going to read the article, but is that in there, or are you ****ing with me?My favorite part of the article:
"Zion plans on becoming the majority share holder of Nabisco and Little Debbie before he retires."
Bingo. And that should put things in perspective. Sam Bowie, whose injury problems never went away, who missed 2 full seasons of college basketball before he ever even started his injury plagued NBA career. That Sam Bowie still played more his first 3 NBA seasons than Zion.Sam Bam
Older I get I’ve learned there’s a LOOOOT of dumb people with sizable money. Makes no sense logically.Well that’s dumb.
Underperformed? He averaged 22 ppg his rookie season and 27 ppg his second season
We will see. Losing weight and keeping it off is probably the hardest thing to do in modern America.I'm not a huge Zion fan... Mostly because he is a Dookie and has underperformed so far.

I understand the games played but not very many players in the history of the nba have averaged 27 ppg in their second season. His play style is very inside oriented but that doesn’t matter because of how unstoppable he is inside 15 ftHe did some scoring. But he has only played 85 games in his career. Still has no jumper. Has 1 pull up jumper in his last playing season and all points come from rim. Points are points but if he doesn't change his body and shot it's a wrap
Donuts? In NOLA? You mean beignets.Think of all the doughnuts he can buy with 231M
Okay?Pretty sure Zion played like 60 games in the 72 year season just 2 seasons ago.
Good point. They really don’t have much a choice I guess. Either pay him and gamble on a superstar or lose him and get nothing
Why is that fun trivia?Fun trivia game. Who played more games their first 3 years in the league?
Greg Oden, Zion, or Sam Bowie?
Ok??… guess how many games wall has played in the past 3 seasonsOkay?
Okay, Wall could have played A LOT of games last year if Houston wasn’t tanking.Ok??… guess how many games wall has played in the past 3 seasons
Umm… he’s been in the league for three seasons, not two. He played only 24 games his first season, only 61 his second, and ZERO his third. He’s injury prone, overweight, and apparently has made no serious effort to get in better shape, given that the most recent photos show him looking fatter than ever. The notion that a guy with that first three-year record deserves a $231 million extension seems insane.Underperformed? He averaged 22 ppg his rookie season and 27 ppg his second season
Stop it. You will hurt the apparent Zion cult we have on here.Umm… he’s been in the league for three seasons, not two. But I do get how it happens. Small market teams in today’s NBA are screwed, they know the only hope they have to retain their best or most marketable players is to offer these crazy max extensions, even in circumstances where it’s absurdly risky and likely to backfire. You can get away with offering less and exercising discretion if you’re the Lakers, but not so much when you’re New Orleans.
No kidding. We will get another round of lectures on how we should kiss Duke’s ass and how it’s dumb to take shots at their alumni in the NBA.Stop it. You will hurt the apparent Zion cult we have on here.
Speaking of Kyrie. What about KD trying to title hop, yet again by wanting to be traded to PHX or MIA? LolNo kidding. We will get another round of lectures on how we should kiss Duke’s ass and how it’s dumb to take shots at their alumni in the NBA.
Meanwhile, Zion is still struggling and Kylie keeeps mumbling how he can’t believe Magellan didn’t fall of the Earth.
