Your favorite Kentucky uniforms and what you would change about the current ones?

I thought the 2010-2013 uniforms nailed it.

A perfect blend of classic and modern. It was simple but cool.


Too much checkerboard on the new ones. It's fine but would prefer to do something else for the sides.

I actually liked the denim. What a team that 96 team was. I didn't care for the ones with the claw shorts that Delk is wearing in that pic. Just look extremely tacky, IMO.

I know that may not be a popular opinion, but who outside of this state recognizes the basis for it? To most it just looks like a lazy attempt to knock off UT.

I know that they were INCREDIBLY controversial but I have always liked the big, clean numbers, lettering, and striping of the 1996 denim uniforms.

If UK were to roll out this look BUT made with regular fabric so that they would be the right shade of blue, I would be thrilled.

I like the retro 78 uniforms. If Cats get to Final Four it would be a neat gesture to bring those out in honor of what some (including me) think is one of the greatest UK teams of all time

This x 1000....I don't care if UK paid a designer $200,000 to come up with the checkerboard and that it's supposed to be horse racing silks...UT has done the checkerboard for decades and everything to do with UT is freaking garbage.

Just update the logo on the shorts of these uniforms and we are good to go. What ever happened to keeping it simple?

I absolutely loathe Duke, but they currently have the best uniforms in college basketball.

I don’t necessarily believe in the conspiracy theory of Nike funneling recruits to Duke, but it is hard to argue against when Duke plays in these beauties while we look like friggin’ rodeo clowns. JMO.

The denim is the most underrated in terms of pattern. Love the look, even if the denim was overboard. But looking back, it was just the style of the era and was pretty cool too.

If something looks good, it can always stand the test of time.

Look at "modern" architecture. All the so called "modern" looks of buildings in the 20th/21st century always begin to look dated 10-15 years after completion.

Look at the old buildings of Europe compared to the concrete jungles and empty shopping malls/big box stores of American cities and towns. The classic European architecture has stood the test of time.

Compare something like the Hinkle Fieldhouse to Rupp Arena. Wrigley Field to the Skydome in Toronto.

These are perfect. Simple and clean, but still very sharp looking once it gets modernized a bit.

I think it'd be cool, to give it some flair, add the stars on the back of the jersey like platinum ones 2011-12 team wore, to represent the number of championships wore. And if you wanna do the checker-boarding, put it on the waistband of the shorts.

I swear, if UK made me in charge of designing uniforms, I'm a hundred percent confident I'd design something that'd please everyone.

The current ones are fine minus all the ridiculous checker-boarding. Way too much of it, makes it look busy like we're trying too hard.

I like KENTUCKY across the top with an arc.....not straight.

Also, used to love the home WHITE......Now days, I love the away/road BLUE.
To each their own. And three years from now, I'm liable to change my mind.

Whatever the uni and/or whatever the color:

I also wish we would play in the black uniforms one game a year in memorial to the greats of UK we have lost. Keightly, Rupp, Cawood. (Etc. the list of players is far to long to list) It's a kind gesture to those families, pays tribute to their massive contributions to the program and reminds everyone of the awesome history stretching legacy of UK basketball.

Hard to beat the 78 throwbacks. My other favorite is the 1997 uniforms -- the final year of Pitino and Converse. Loved these.

P.S. Our current uniforms are awful ... but got to think we're about done with them. We've run the checkerboard Hindenburg into the ground.

Remove the checkerboard and make the shorts shorter. That would about fix it.
