I’m in agreement with you. I’m saying as fans we should be voicing our opinion on this to the university. The networks are going to be concerned with bottom line period. That’s all I’m saying. There isn’t a single thing our collective bellyaching is going to do as a fanbase if the network doesn’t want to air the games because we are playing SouthWest Northeastern Tech.Okay, fine? I don't make the schedule. They all used to be on regular TV. Again I'm not really complaining about it, I haven't had any problems with access. But I have gotten home after a couple of our games have started and wasn't able to start them from the beginning.
Not exactly...If you're provider doesn't carry ESPN plus or SEC plus, like Youtube TV, you do have to subscribe. They just don't like the way ESPN presents it on the app. Apparently logging in to TV provider and then when you click on the game tile choosing SECN+ is too confusing. Obiviously they are scamming them into thinking they need ESPN+ 🥴
It will be on O_ball_O on YouTube the next day usually. The bad thing about it is if you want to watch it later, I don't think you can. So watching it live is the only option I believe.
On my YouTube TV account the earlier games were not available, I had to sign up for ESPN PLUS to access them.YouTubeTV counts as a TV provider.
Here is the list of TV providers that work w/ ESPN app.Ok, say you live out in the state and have cable that is provided by a small local cable company (e.g., the kind where the folks who own the cable company still live there in the community). You pay $120/mo. to get SEC & ESPN, etc. Are you’re saying that person can definitely stream the game without paying/doing anything more, assuming they have a smart TV or streaming device and download the ESPN app?
Precisely. Not exactly...If you're provider doesn't carry ESPN plus or SEC plus, like Youtube TV, you do have to subscribe.
Sigh. MAJOR FACE PALM. THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS ON HERE.Not exactly...If you're provider doesn't carry ESPN plus or SEC plus, like Youtube TV, you do have to subscribe.
As several of us have said before, this is incorrect. The game wasn't on YouTubeTV. It was on the ESPN app. However, your YouTubeTV login gave you access to watch it. Or it would have. You didn't need to sign up for ESPN+.On my YouTube TV account the earlier games were not available, I had to sign up for ESPN PLUS to access them.
This is what I’m saying. There will be more, not less. We can whine about it ad nauseum but Disney isn’t offering the games to us out of the goodness of their heart. They want money and that’s why they schedule the way they doYou're going to pay just as much for the rest of our games (or almost all of them) as you would have had to for these first several.
It's not a scam if you just don't understand how to make it work.
And a lot of us have been streaming games for many years now. Cable and Satellite aren't going to be around much longer. Some of you all are going to have to adapt or get out your radios and listen to the game that way.
Does the ESPN app have to be installed on the pc?As several of us have said before, this is incorrect. The game wasn't on YouTubeTV. It was on the ESPN app. However, your YouTubeTV login gave you access to watch it. Or it would have. You didn't need to sign up for ESPN+.
I have YouTubeTV. I do not have ESPN+. I watched all of them from the ESPN app on my TV
It's absolutely embarrassing how many times this has been explained on this site and we still have the same folks from past threads saying the same incorrect ish.As several of us have said before, this is incorrect.
Also incorrect. You can't start watching it over until it ends, but you can definitely watch it after the game is over...at least for awhile like a couple of weeks. The bad thing about it is if you want to watch it later, I don't think you can. So watching it live is the only option I believe.
Thanks. Here is the list of TV providers that work w/ ESPN app.

I wasn't watching from a PC. I was watching on my TV. I have the app installed on my TV (or on a streaming device attached to the TV like a Roku, Firestick, etc). On the TV, I open the ESPN app, make sure I have logged in/validated to my YouTubeTV account, find the game, choose the SEC+ option and start watching.Does the ESPN app have to be installed on the pc?
This is not the case for most of us. Odd that you sat through and took part in that entire TV thread and saw the things going on where some of the TV apps weren't behaving and had nothing to do with the user, but then you chime in here to berate those people as essentially technology idiots. They just don't like the way ESPN presents it on the app. Apparently logging in to TV provider and then when you click on the game tile choosing SECN+ is too confusing. Obiviously they are scamming them into thinking they need ESPN+ 🥴
Ok. I was just trying to better understand how that worked. My uncle is basically an invalid and streaming is already a challenge for him, but he has the type of cable I described, and I’ve seen others say if you have cable then you can go to the ESPN app and enter your cable company and then be able to watch the game. I tried to do that for him and his cable company didn’t show up. I also didn’t see other small cable companies listed that I’m aware of in neighboring counties. So, I was just trying to see if he really could watch the game Friday through that method or not.
I have YouTube TV, had no problem signing in with my provider to get access to the games without having to sign up for ESPN+. As long as you get SECN as part of your YouTube TV package, you have access without signing up for ESPN+.On my YouTube TV account the earlier games were not available, I had to sign up for ESPN PLUS to access them.
I have no issue with helping anyone getting it working but calling it a scam is a bit too far for me. Equivalent of old man yells at cloud. If you want some help, no problem, but it feels like most of these folks just wanna complain because it's new and different. This is not the case for most of us. Odd that you sat through and took part in that entire TV thread and saw the things going on where some of the TV apps weren't behaving and had nothing to do with the user, but then you chime in here to berate those people as essentially technology idiots.
chroix is playing the "one size fits all" card, when in fact one size definitely doesn't fit all situations.Shh. Don't tell him. He won't listen anyways
But my radio has terrible picture quality...Plenty of these types of games used to be untelevised or on tape delay. The radio still works
Look at this old guy sailing the high seas. 😂😂😂I'm old, don't have anything but an antenna, Hot Spot on my phone and I never miss a game. It's out there for free if you'll just look. I watch any NFL & College Football game I want for free on my phone and cast it to my smart TV. I'll admit that my son taught me to cast to my TV, I have T Mobile unlimited service. Most Basketball games are live on Youtube, that's where I've watched all our games this year.
It was an issue for several of us trying to log in to our ESPN app on the TV directly. It never gave me the QR code or recognized that I had already selected my TV provider on the website in my account. Logging out and back in and also removing and re-adding TV provider still directed me to the subscription page. And you know what I did? In the 11th hour before the game I caved and said "f-it" and paid the $11.99 for November, then cancelled.I have YouTube TV, had no problem signing in with my provider to get access to the games without having to sign up for ESPN+. As long as you get SECN as part of your YouTube TV package, you have access without signing up for ESPN+.
Like I said I still don't love it because I can't DVR the game and start it midway through. But access should not be an issue for anyone who has SECN with their provider, even if it's YouTube TV.
I think if you cry louder it will self-resolve 🤣It was an issue for several of us trying to log in to our ESPN app on the TV directly. There is some kind of "scam" going on there - if I have all the things you have and perform the exact same steps, I should not see a "sorry you need to subscribe" message in the same damned app on the TV that I don't see on my laptop, phone or tablet. Yet there it was, for me and apparently a bunch of others from Cats Illustrated.
So add all those $11.99 unnecessary subscriptions because their app had a "glitch" and voila - more $$ in their pockets. I mean, how many of us are going to demand they refund it when we tell them I shouldn't have had to pay to begin with if the stupid app synced with my account at ESPN? Zero. And they know this.

Oh look, a cutesie newbie.I think if you cry louder it will self-resolve 🤣
Nope, I was aware of which one I was selecting. Is it possible you were clicking on the ESPN+ broadcast of the game and not the SEC+ one?
I say that because when I open the app and verify that my TV provider is current, I then go search for the game amongst the "Live & Upcoming games". When I find it, I often get presented with 2 or sometimes 3 choices. At least one of them says SEC+ somewhere on it. The other(s) often say ESPN+. If I choose the ESPN+ one by mistake, it definitely asks me to sign in. If I choose the SEC+ one, it does not.
And yes, I find that deceptive by ESPN, but it's not a scam.
Trash model.Just read an article that the only thing UK basketball fans are upset about is that four out of five of the first games are streaming only . Much confusion and consternation.
After Friday we will be free at last from the money grubbing bast oops gentlemen.
It’s just a pain in the ass. When you work all day and are looking forward to sitting down to watch a game and then have to search around for some app that you never use…ugh.Yeah there’s definitely some garbage with the way it is presented.
If you pay for the SEC channel and ESPN you’ve had access to it all along.
I’m in agreement with you. I’m saying as fans we should be voicing our opinion on this to the university. The networks are going to be concerned with bottom line period. That’s all I’m saying. Install the ESPN app on your TV.I have sling and sec+. I can’t watch the game live through sling though. It gives me the option but shows it is loading for 5+ minutes. I can go back and watch it after the fact but not live. But if I download the app on my phone and sign in through my provider sling, no problem. Irritating I can’t watch it on my TV but at least I still get to watch it.

There's nothing wrong with your remote or TV, it's your cable company not letting you get ESPN+.Mine mutes too; thought it was my equipment. Very annoying. Last night's game even went old-style resolution a few times.
Read the whole set of arguments, bud. I’m saying complain to the school because of the teams we schedule . ESPN isn’t going to devote much to UK vs Lipscomb no matter how much complaining fans do. I have no issue with the schedule or the internet games. Youre providing retort to someone who has been on your exact soapboxIt’s not a UK thing. It’s an SEC/ESPN thing. Complaining to UK is a waste of time. Contact the league office with complaints.
