Yea. After Jackson State fam ESPN + scam is over

Not sure what was happening with my ESPN app last night. I could find the game tile easily. It just wouldn't allow me to select it for viewing. It was like my remote button was broken. Needless to say, I cussed and tried everything until halftime. Then I went youtube searching for a live stream. My biggest beef with SEC+ is the sound quality is horrible. My feed mutes every few minutes for 2-3 seconds during the game. I prefer the network tv games. Those are our hype games anyway.

Just read an article that the only thing UK basketball fans are upset about is that four out of five of the first games are streaming only . Much confusion and consternation.
After Friday we will be free at last from the money grubbing bast oops gentlemen.
I only had it for UFC fights. But I figured out how to watch them for free and dropped that ish like a hot potato.

Yes the audio drop outs are infuriating. Makes me want to kick small babies.

They just don't like the way ESPN presents it on the app. Apparently logging in to TV provider and then when you click on the game tile choosing SECN+ is too confusing. Obiviously they are scamming them into thinking they need ESPN+ 🥴
That is how its supposed to work. But it doesn't. I have had to go to the SEC conference section and find the game labeled for the SEC+ network. Otherwise it tries to get me to sign up even though my YTTV is already signed in on the app. Nothing to aggravating just a couple extra steps. But for some of the older fans its a hassle. My 80 year old grandparents have a hard time figuring it out. Thankfully they live about 20 yards away so its not a big deal to walk over and set it up. But I'd imagine not every older fan has a younger person to help them navigate it. We didn't pick up a controller and immediately know how to work everything. We are just accustomed to technology. They aren't and at 80 years old they have earned the right to complain a little. Especially when as everyone says they already have access its just a matter of getting to it.

Mine mutes too; thought it was my equipment. Very annoying. Last night's game even went old-style resolution a few times.

Internet games aren’t going anywhere. It allows the conference a lot more flexibility in scheduling. I’d say just do our best to get setups figured out because the number will likely increase next year according to Matt Jones

If you pay for the SEC channel and ESPN you’ve had access to it all along.
Ok, say you live out in the state and have cable that is provided by a small local cable company (e.g., the kind where the folks who own the cable company still live there in the community). You pay $120/mo. to get SEC & ESPN, etc. Are you’re saying that person can definitely stream the game without paying/doing anything more, assuming they have a smart TV or streaming device and download the ESPN app?

Plenty of these types of games used to be untelevised or on tape delay. The radio still works

Watch the game on the TV and sync up the radio and listen to Jack Pilgram and Tom Leach.

You can rewatch later if you want. The games are moved to Replays section of ESPN app
Here’s my legitimate problem with it — yes, you can go back and watch the replay once the game is over. That’s true. But what you can’t do is start the game from the beginning if it’s already started. Sometimes I have a kid that has practice, event, even dinner. I like to be able to pause the game and pick back up. There’s no DVR. So you can watch it live, but there’s it. It’s a small problem but that does make it a little different than the regular TV experience.

It answers your question by pointing out that everyone has some means to enjoy the game even if they have a local cable provider. The radio still exists.
Well, it doesn't answer my question at all. But thanks for letting me know that. I'm glad radio still exists.

No effing clue my man. I guess pony up and pay for ESPN+? But I’ve seen some pretty small companies listed on the sign in and if you have a legit subscription you should be able to.

You’re only getting these games if we are playing Cupcake U. If we don’t want internet games, we should play better competition. Every game doesn’t have to be a Duke but we could schedule a Dayton or Ohio U and I guarantee it won’t be on SEC+

They literally broadcast our pro day on SECN.

In my case I don't have a TV provider. My primary entertainment is my PC and YouTube TV.

Okay, fine? I don't make the schedule. They all used to be on regular TV. Again I'm not really complaining about it, I haven't had any problems with access. But I have gotten home after a couple of our games have started and wasn't able to start them from the beginning.

Ok. I was just trying to better understand how that worked. My uncle is basically an invalid and streaming is already a challenge for him, but he has the type of cable I described, and I’ve seen others say if you have cable then you can go to the ESPN app and enter your cable company and then be able to watch the game. I tried to do that for him and his cable company didn’t show up. I also didn’t see other small cable companies listed that I’m aware of in neighboring counties. So, I was just trying to see if he really could watch the game Friday through that method or not.
