Newly minted Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey first caught fans’ attention when he “eliminated” every blue article of clothing from his wardrobe – a nod to how seriously he takes the school’s rivalry with in-state blue-blood Kentucky. That’s fun and all, but you can only imagine the excitement of Cardinals fans when they heard that their new coach actually nabbed an NIL donation that was bound for their rival.

After being impressed by Kelsey’s opening press conference, an anonymous donor wanted to get to know the new coach. A radio host organized a phone call, and within five minutes, $15K of NIL money was headed to Louisville instead of Lexington.

At this point, I am not impressed with the guy. Maybe he will be great for them. But, I am glad he isn't here. We can do much better.

Oh I agree. Just saying it's nice to see a coach say things like "removing blue from my wardrobe." That's what fans want to hear from their coaches not, "Haven't seen them" or "Going home to watch Little House"

Fans want to hear the coach actually gives a shit.

Man I kinda disagree. Sure, it needs to be backed up with on the court results. But they've got a guy saying he "hates" their biggest rival instead of KP going "Well, the other coach tricked me" .

I get why they are slightly pumped. The art of the sell isn't give you the product first, it's to tell you how great it will be in your life.

I will be interesting to see if he can walk the walk. I think we're all just tired of Cal coach speak and waiting for him to be done with Walton reruns.

Good hope it makes CCC have a worse record, this expediting his departure so we can be a tournament team again. I firmly do not expect to ever win another NCAA tournament game with him as coach, he's that bad now even with the best roster in the country.

Cant blame UofL fans for being a bit excited. He's a little crazy, passionate, and pumping energy back into their program. Meanwhile we're stuck with the stale bread.

Not saying I want this guy, but we need someone with his type of energy. With that being said, I have NO idea what this guy can do. He may be a horrid coach but that remains to be seen.

Just wish we had a coach that had that kind of passion again.

Just think of he disappointed how that fan base will rail on him for acting the way he is
