Wish me luck, going to get my pacemaker put in now

Did you get a second opinion? Know a guy that the heart doctor told him he needed a pacemaker but he got a second opinion from a more experienced heart doctor and they told him his level was not 40 or something like that and he didn't need one. The guy is doing fine 15 years later.
I always wondered about getting a second opinion. If you get a second opinion that contradicts the first opinion, how do you know which one is correct? Do you get a third opinion as the tie-breaker?

To try and inject some humor into just another obstacle for you (and I say this as someone who has health issues).......is it a fast paste maker?

This guy got a second opinion from an older doctor that had actually helped train the doctor that recommended a pacemaker. Ever since I heard that story I try and tell everyone about getting a second opinion because just because a doctor might be a specialist does not mean they are always right.

Same here! I had a normal resting heart rate, but started developing seizures in Air Traffic Control School (It's a long story, but an interesting one). But during an active seizure my HR would drop below 15bpm, which is the opposite of what normally happens. They put in an on-demand to keep my heart going whenever I seize.
I’ve been on the same seizure meds the past 7 years now and not had one. I highly recommend asking your doctor about levetricetam if you still have many or your meds aren’t countering them as often as you would like.

Best of luck to a fellow Cat fan. I have several friends who have them with no problems. Modern technology.

Good luck! Walk in the park, mine was an outpatient procedure, had mine four years in November. I have felt great.

Had one put in this year and all is going well after a little setback.. Easy procedure done all the time. Hope all went well and that you're doing great now!
