Williams..

The fact he's legit 7 feet tall and 260lbs with vision and moving like that on the court is just stupid. He's diet Demarcus Cousins minus the offensive arsenal or attitude.
Well, if you take away Cuz’s offensive arsenal and attitude, there’s not much left. Amiright?

After watching tonight I wondered how he isn’t already a pro. Great handles for a hulk. Would have been an awesome pro until a decade or two ago. Still seems like a valuable pro because of his ability to facilitate, just not quite the pro he would have been during the days of traditional big men.

This just looks like a monster team with hand picked players that excel at each position and compliment each other. All of the pieces (players) are very complimentary for one another. Lots of veteran patience, value each possession, slow it down a shade here and there, stay in control. Play hard from beginning to end.

Pay attention to the simple things. Scout the team.

and when the hell was it last we talked about how well scouted a team was around here?

Sure, Coach Cal had games well coached and planned for, but this was wonderful to see, and have confidence in knowing it was well planned for from the beginning of the game. The guys even spoke about it.

Thats all I can ask from a Kentucky team.

Play hard, outhustle and put more energy and effort than the other team, and stay playing hard for the entire game. Be well prepared going into the game, and that's all I can ever ask.

Cause' we're Kentucky and we are going to win a lot of games against good, very good, the BEST competition, this year. I say bring it on !

Enjoy this win, then ... next up, Bucknell !

Go Big Blue !

He's really skilled for a big guy and that makes me very happy. Plus it's nice to see our big guys don't physically disappear on the screen when they turn sideways like Ugo, Bradshaw and Z.

Most impressive plays were early on:
Leading the break, dribbling and dishing like a PG and the drive to the basket with the dunk on the WSU boys head.

A few years back, one PJ Washington really had the kind of breakout season for Cal and UK, and it really was wonderful to see him play that year as a wildcat! I think there could be a lot of similarities for Williams, at least as far as career trajectory goes. Very happy the young man has the opportunity, all of them, in fact, to step in and make a big splash in the biggest way!

I wanted to see him as much as anyone on the court yesterday. The more I see of Oweh, though.... there is just something about him.... killer instinct there. Along with Butler. Wow. Unreal good. Butler is a bulldog.

Williams, Butler, and Oweh are the three guys I look to that are going to be there every single game. Brea, Robinson, all the rest, they all understand that a great team has players that adapt to their own particular niche and style within the framework of a team. They are all going to have chances to shine, and I know they will. I just am confident in this team. Something tells me this is going to be a truly special season.
