Why wasn't Dillingham playing in the second half?

For the same reason why our nameless coach has been playing rotating fake illnesses and injuries for most of the season. He has to make his players kiss the ring and if they don't, he benches them with fake injuries and illnesses.
Yes. So Cal doesn't have to expend a little brain power to coach/manage that many players so he just have players fake injuries.

BTW, saw Tre jumping around on the sidelines. Back appeared fine.

It seems that every team we play focus on what we repeatedly demonstrate is our weakness. However; we play every team the exact same way instead of exploiting their weaknesses. It is as if we don't watch any recordings of their previous games.

Being unplayable hasn't kept Edwards out of the starting lineup.
That sounds too much like someone trying to blame the players. We lost this game because our coach was too dumb to front the post to stop the easy post passes. He was also too dumb to go to a zone. If we had used a zone when we had two 7-footers on the coach, we could have pressured the perimeter with our bigs in place to defend the basket in case someone got by a perimeter defender.

Coaching malpractice. What a load of horse manure he said in postgame.
He isn't even attempting look like a coach. You could have found someone at the local Boys and Girls Club figure out how to make the entry pass into the post more difficult than our nameless coach.

Cal already has Dilly drafted. It’s now time to get DJ in the same conversation. He is not about winning. It is all about getting his players drafted.

I am sick of watching Reed put less capable shooters in positions to take bad shots. There is a reason why Edwards is often open behind the arch. HE CAN'T SHOOT REED SHEPPARD!!!! As the point guard/floor general, you should be aware of this. If you are not going to give a player the ball in a position where he can be effective, don't give it to them.
That's not on Reed though, that's on Cal. Cal wants Edwards out there shooting or he wouldn't play him so many (unproductive) minutes.

Balyor fronted the post to stop the low post onslaught. Unlike our idiot coach who put up no resistance to prevent the low post feed. It is amazing that such an inept coach is coaching one of the bluebloods if we even should be considered a blueblood.
Exactly! Why in the world were we not fronting the damn post?! Like we never did it even once in the second half. Goodness gracious, Cal is awful!

Gonzaga was killing Dillingham in the pick and roll. He can’t get through screens and too small to switch. Rob is electric on offense but his defense is probably the worst on the team and that’s saying something. Especially with how bad they were getting destroyed in the post.

100% and their 28% 3 point shooters usually hit everything if they don’t roast us going to the rim.

He is already guaranteed to go top 5. We need to let scouts see other guys.

I honestly wonder if there's some truth to this. Dilly showed enough to cement his lottery pick, so now I have to give Edwards his minutes.

I do think we played much better in the 2nd half, but I can't see Dilly hurting us.

I don't understand how you keep this kid on the bench when he can take over a game with his offense.
That is why we have so much turnover every year. We have the NBA losses and then we have the Cal won't play me losses so I am going into portal. CAL is like a deadly virus to this Program.

Cal said the others were playing so well he was going to ride with them
I can almost live with it.

But here's where it falls apart:

1. We went big to try to stop them on defense. We could not stop them on defense. Cal wouldn't switch the defense to a zone and pack the paint. We weren't going to win by limiting their points. We needed to make the game a race to 100 in order to have a chance to win. Leaving Rob on the bench doesn't accomplish that.

Someone is going to run in and say "Well we lost because of our defense." We did. But we couldn't fix the defense. But you can win a game in more than 1 way. And if your defense isn't going to win the game--you can still win it by scoring a lot of points. We didn't put our best offense forth. And we gave up the strategy that could have won the game.

2. 13.9 Seconds on the clock. Down 2. You need a bucket to stay in the game. In what world do you not have your best bucket getters on the floor? That's bad coaching. I don't care how good Justin Edwards has played so far. I want the guy that I know can get a bucket at will.

This is the only answer, I’ve never seen anyone that does the dumb shit Cal does constantly.
I’m so sick of him man. Trying to win the SEC, all time wins list, shooting for a one seed - all these used to mean something at Kentucky.

Cal just screws around with lineups, hoping to sneak into the tournament and catch lightning in a bottle, which he hasn’t done in 10 years.

The man is stealing money.

It certainly Reed's fault for passing the ball to Edwards behind the arch with shot clock expiring when Reed clearly had the open shot
If he had shot and missed you would have had another reason to bash the young man. Without his 21 points we would have been blown out of Rupp. Try picking on the 21 feet of players that couldn't guard a fire plug.

That would be Edwards and Ugo who were in at the end. Because if you just have one offensive possession down by two you just have to have those two guys in instead of Dilly and Z. The other coach was not an idiot. He knew Thiero had been passing up shots all night and Edwards wasn't going to shoot it and Ugo only on a lob. So they had to guard Shep and Reeves. Cal didn't think we'd be harder to defend that one time with Dilly and Z on the floor. I know I'm repeating myself but I can't find any logic in it. Cal has early dementia; there is no other answer. He's forgotten what little strategy he used to know.

We had 4 stops in the final 12 minutes. For those who say his defense is awful and that is why he sat we HAD 4 STOPS IN THE FINAL 12 MINUTES...................I rather have his scoring on the floor if we can't stop them anyway.
Also maybe he gets some steals which would be stops.

For the love of all that is holy we had to have him on the floor in the final 13 seconds down 2.

Dilly is so atrocious on defense. Might be the worst on the team overall. I bet he's been in the high ball screen play 50 times this season and I'd venture to guess the other team has scored 80% of the time.

It is very obvious to me that Cal is going above and beyond in an effort to get Edwards back in the draft picture, even at the expense of losing games.

Cal knows Reed will pass the ball to an open Edwards. DJ and Dilly will not.

Reed is passing to the person Cal is setting up to take the shot. And that is Edwards.

Promises made. Promises kept.

Cal doesn't have early dementia.

Cal don't GAF. Period.
Especially what fans think/want from this team.

He is also thin skinned and very vengeful. Many of the things he does/doesn't do are merely to pi$$ the fanbase off.

Either that, or he is absolutely the worst D1 HC in college basketball.

It could be the latter. He needs a mental cognitive test and a Basketball 101 Final Exam. Then we might know for sure.
