1.) Every SEC team that wins games in the NCAAT strengthens their own portfolio. This will attract more recruits and portal prospects that we may be targeting.

2.) The league has been far more physical that what should be permissible. Poor postseason performance as a league could cause the league to prioritize a cleaner game, which could lead to a tighter whistle and potentially less contact injuries.

3.) They don’t love us back.

None of them root for us once they are out. At the SEC tournament they all root for whomever we are playing. Last friday even Auburn fans were rooting for Alabama against us. A few weren't. Some Auburn fans at our hotel said they could never pull for Alabama against anyone. But most of their fans were against UK.

And it's been that way as long as I've been going to the SEC tournament. And I've gone to every one since it started back in 1979.

Makes sense. The counter-argument is that we got a 3-seed despite our 22-11 record because of the perception that our conference is strong. If the SEC performs poorly in the tournament, the conclusion will be that UK was overseeded and should be seeded lower if the same thing happens next year.

Hasn’t stopped the B1G from getting respect year after year. Have no worries on that front

I will always pull for the SEC teams when not playing UK. I thoroughly enjoy being the strongest conference. The games were entertaining all season.
What you seem to be describing is to develop a weaker conference with a quick whistle because it will help our recruiting. Nah.

I respect the difference in opinion. Reasonable minds don’t always have to come to the same conclusion. I will say though I never said anything about a quick whistle helping our recruiting. That’s a very curious inference 🤔

Agree hope they all lose except KY

I agree and especially on points 2 & 3.

Why I am actively rooting against Papa Johns:

1) Louisville, enuff said.

2) Their toppings give me gas. Nobody wants to watch March Madness with me when I eat Papa John's.

3) Papa Johns doesn't love my Cats.

Does anybody remember the bracket busters games for mid-majors from 2003-2013? I think that needs to be brought back but for high majors. It was decided back in early December games that the SEC was so dominant that it ended up with 14 bids out of 16 teams. The result is the SEC is taking it on the chin in middle and low seed games. Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia none of them should've been in the tournament. And other teams are seeded too high. It's not a good look.

Small sample size, let it play out before concluding that

You are right. #2 did not tie into helping recruiting.
Though when I look at your post in its entirety it reads, to me, that you would like cleaner called games against lesser competition. I personally love the competitive games on a nightly basis. I want a repeat of this year for next year with the exception of UK being at the top.

1 & 3 are totally valid, but the league has already been paid for their corruption so they don't really care who does what so long as they get their money.

I say screw the SEC because we carried this league in basketball for forty years and get zero respect for it. They can all piss off so far as I'm concerned.
THIS ^^^^^^ IN SPADES

I SECOND THIS COMMENT. POST OF THE FREAKING YEAR !

SUCK IT SEC.

Watch Kentucky still be the last left standing AGAIN this year. If you can't make it this year, there ain't no hope for ya!

Take no prisoners. I have abandoned all SEC respect and ties. They earned our disrespect right back.

Yet to see if the Uber competitive games every night even helps in the tournament. Duke played nothing but cupcakes and looks sharper than anyone in our conference so far

Not only do they not pull for us. Most I know, root against us. They hate that we dominated this conference for decades. All you need to see is Nate Oats saying, “they can’t play with us” and trying to pour it on. Thats what they all want.

So, screw them in return. I hope we pound them every chance & I hope they all lose every game.
